Hello guys, it's Z, bringing you a review of a high anticipated game four days after it's release. Yes, I beat it already. That's normal, right? Everyone beats their new game in four days after it's release.
Moving on, here's how this review's going to work. There will be five categories: Story, Music, Gameplay, Graphics and VS.ACS(Assassin's Creed Series). Each category is worth 10 points, and the verdict will be determined by how well the categories score. Let's get it started.
Story: Okay, since I don't want to spoil to much, I'll give you the bits and pieces. The game takes place where AC Revelations left off, with Desmond and the gang finding a random cave. You go into the cave, and eventually enter this open area, where Rebecca sets up the Animus, the device that allows you to relieve your ancestor's memories. After you enter the Animus, you go through 12 sequences, with a few missions outside of the Animus with Desmond, and then the epilogue. As revealed by trailers and such, you play as Connor while in the Animus. However, before you play as Connor, you play as
for the first three sequences in the Animus. At first, I thought this story was going to be a copy and paste of AC2, but it is a different story. However, I felt that the story could've been tweaked to be more epic. But it did distract me from the music.
Score: 9/10
Edit: Side missions do enhance the story. However, I played them after this review, so I didn't know.
Edited Score: 10/10
Music: Like I said in the last category, I was a bit distracted by the story to notice the music, but the times I did pay attention, the music fit well with what was going on. The chase music as the guards run after you for whatever you did, the music in the main screen....pretty good. Not stand out music like Nintendo games have, but great music.
Score: 9/10
Edit: No edit here.

Graphics: This game looks beautiful. When Rebecca said that the Animus got an update, it really did. This game looks better then all it's predecessors, even in Eagle Vision. The CGI in the beginning in the game is awesome. Especially when they show Ezio.
Score: 10/10

Gameplay: If you have played any other game of the Assassin's Creed franchise, you should have no problem. You run, you climb, you fight, or you remain hidden. The free running in this game has improved a lot in this game. You can go up hidden slopes, slide under low objects, and you can climb trees, which is especially convenient in the Frontier(I'll explain later). Eagle Vision, the power that allows you to identify enemies, allies, and targets is back, but I didn't find much use for it. The combat system has been rebuilt, with human shields and dual wielding thrown in there for additional fun. Countering attacks has been downgraded, but upgraded. Because of the new system, it doesn't show you what actions you can perform(even though it does explain this earlier), but you can now use your environment to your advantage. Smoke bombs and poison darts are back, but I haven't found much use for them. But the new weapons are pretty beast. The tomahawk works like the sword, so nothing new there, but rope darts and trip mines change it up. You can use the rope dart to hang your enemies and bring them closer to you, and the trip mine...well, it blows stuff up. There is a lot more stuff to the gameplay, such as blending, synchronizing on top of view points, hunting, and traversing from Boston to the Frontier(which is basically a big forest) to New York to your Homestead and riding your horse, but that takes a lot of explaining that can't fit in here. However, I will mention that this game will make you rage if you try to get full sync in one run(you would understand if you played AC Brotherhood or AC Revelations).
Score: 10/10
Edit: The counter system is actually way better than the old ones. While it doesn't tell you what you can do, it shows you when to counter. Also, free-running is definitely better in this game.

VS. Assassin's Creed Series: This game beats down all it's predecessors. The counter mechanic may be a little downgraded, and the plot might not be as good, but this game still surpasses the others. I mean, this game basically contains the over world of AC Brotherhood in it. Literally. Ubisoft said that the Frontier is 1.5 times bigger than the over world in AC Brotherhood. And they weren't lying. Also, they fixed how Eagle Vision looks, and I like that.
Score: 9/10
Edit: I take back my points about the plot and the counter mechanic. I have seen that those are just as good or better than in the last games. Also, there were more side-missions to do in AC3.
Edited Score: 10/10

Verdict: 46/50
This game is amazing. I can't stress that enough. It does almost everything better (except for the slips in the story and combat system) then it's predecessors. Sad part is that there probably won't be another AC game because of this game's ending. However, this is game is a must-have, and you should get it soon, for the PS3, Xbox, or the WiiU when it comes out. If you have a PS Vita and want to get Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation, you will get a different experience.
Edited Verdict: 49/50
I made some mistakes when I made this. That's why I came back to edit. I realized that everything that I said was wrong when I went back and played AC2 just today. AC3 is three points better than what I originally thought it was. After watching a video, I have learned that there could actually be another AC game because of the ending, unlike I originally thought.
Have a good one, and see you next time!
