Name: Alouette “Allie” Griff
Gender: Female
Race: Rito
Age: 20
Occupation: Courier for the Hyrule Courier Service (HCS)
Appearance: Alouette is a tall (6’ 6”), slender Rito woman with pastel purple feathers over most of her body, but with white feathers on her chest and tummy. Her colour pattern follows this bird’s. Her eyes are a soft pink colour, and her beak is a light orange, as are her clawed feet. On her right arm, she wears a red bandana, which matches Juliana’s purple one, which they wear because they are best friends. She looks similar to her great grandmother, Saki, although the feathers on her head look more like Teba’s. Because of this heritage, her parents are very proud Rito, and tried (and failed) to instill these proud values in their daughter.
Day to day, she typically wears a simple shirt, similar to the one Guy, the Rito seen in Kara Kara Bazaar wears, and beige trousers. When she is working, which is often, she dons her HCS uniform. The uniform consists of a burgundy jacket with a hood adorned with a golden bunny symbol on the breast and a larger one on the back. Shirts are burgundy with gold accents at the ends of the sleeves and bottom near the waist, with the same bunny symbol on the breast as the jacket. Burgundy pants and shorts are also issued to couriers, climate dependent, with gold accents similar to those on the shirts. Couriers are also issued brown, all-terrain boots, which she declined and lightweight, dark brown leather armor, which Alouette accepted and wears while traveling to new or unfamiliar territories.
Equipment:
*Lightweight, dark brown leather armor (mentioned above)
*Various maps of the area, save for one of Totori Lake
*A scythe as her weapon, nicknamed “Cherry” for the wood the handle is crafted from
*A leather bound journal she uses as a diary, and writes in every one to two days
*Various blank papers and pens, as well as envelopes to write letters with (or to offer to others)
*148 Rupees
Personality: Allie is a very bubbly girl, although this stems from her naivety. She spent most of her life, up until she turned 18, living with her parents at Lake Totori in Rito City, and very rarely left the town. Due to this, she has an intense curiosity of other races, especially Gorons. She has very little social grace, and doesn’t understand the concept of personal space very well. She’s also a bit of a klutz, often dropping things mid-flight and having to swoop down to rescue them. Despite this, Allie does her best to stand up for everybody, even if they do not deserve it. She is easily deceived, and often relies on her best friend, Juliana, to guide her in the proper direction.
Skills: Alouette is a skilled navigator, and although she may not have memorized every official route on Kass’ maps, she knows the quickest route from point A to point B, in flight or on foot. She also calls herself an amateur cartographer, wanting to improve upon the maps Kass left behind, as well as adding some smaller ones for the restored and newly built cities. She is a strong flyer, of course, and was taught by her father, Efron. Allie is also ambidextrous, and like most Rito, quite a good singer!
Backstory: Alouette mainly joined the HCS as a chance to see the world while earning a few Rupees, but also joined them to appease her parents, Efron and Eileen. The two of them are Rito Elitists, believing that, despite the work done by Hyrule’s leaders to join each race, that Rito are somehow above the others. Think the snobbiness of Revali, split between two Rito, and you would have Allie’s parents. Efron, her father, is a retired Rito Warrior who spent most of his adulthood patrolling the roads for Roark. Elieen, her mother, is a grandchild of Saki’s sister, leaving her to believe that they’re royal-adjacent. While Teba’s family became the new dynasty for the Rito Chieftains, Elieen is still positive that she and Alouette are more deserving than other Rito in the City, next to the Chieftain's family.
Growing up in Rito City, Alouette did her best to fit in with her cousins, the Chieftain's family, but found that she didn’t match up to their energy. As it turns out, her cousins are not snobby by any means. Alouette was and still is, a socially awkward person, even if she doesn’t realize that she is. When she was fifteen, she snuck away from her parents and visited the Rito Outpost, formally the Rito Stable, to mingle with the ‘common folk,’ as her mother would call them. And, she had a blast! She loved meeting all the new people and getting to know them, and ended staying the night at the stable, much to her parents’ fury. In the following three years, she got into a number of arguments with them, and finally decided that on the day of her eighteenth birthday, she would tell her parents she was moving out by putting her approved application for the HCS on their dining room table. This did not end well, and she has since moved in with Juli in Clock Town and has not spoken to her parents in two years.
