Equipment:
• One-handed crossbow and bolts
• A khopesh with a 30 ft rope tied to it. This khopesh has a deeper bend than most so it can be used to grapple.
• Jerky of various kinds from past hunts
• A set of spices and salts for preservation and flavor
• A small knife for utility
• Flint and steel
• Vial of mountain buck musk
• Bota bag
• 10 feet of spare rope
• Bullhorn made from a previously hunted water buffalo
• Pet owl
Personality: while mostly the laid back type, he has a tendency to be reckless. This mix tends to lead to him not taking threatening things seriously. He loves the adrenalin high from a difficult hunt or a good fight. He could be seen as a bit of a loner but the truth is he enjoys being in a group. He’d just rather not stick around long enough to get some kind of leadership role. It may be that he’s self aware of his own recklessness or possibly a fear of responsibility, I’m not even sure he knows. He’s very extra when it comes to people he befriends, often giving them gifts he made himself from his hunts. He can often be found having full conversations with his pet owl despite it not being able to talk whatsoever.
Skills: being a hunter, Tassus is quite skilled in tracking, trapping and shooting various beasts with his crossbow. He is also proficient in grappling things with his Khopesh which he can swing from. He can also swing it around as a weapon. He’s an excellent marksman with his crossbow and can even accurately shoot while swinging. He has great endurance developed after years of long hunts and can track a target all day. He’s learned many survival skills over the years and can make temporary shelters with ease. One drawback to his survival skills is that he’s not great at identifying herbs and edible plants so he’s forced to rely on his hunting skills for food. He’s great at climbing, swimming, and traversing difficult terrain. He also spent time teaching his pet owl how to assist him in hunts. Primarily, the owl is called upon to take down small prey quietly but he has also been trained to spot larger targets for Tassus to take down. His attitude can be disarming to some but seem rude to others so he could either be excellent socially or horrible depending on the person. He should never be tasked with speaking to royalty.
Backstory: Tassus was born in 63 ATR at the height of Kadir’s paranoia. His father Rumos and his mother Mishea fled civilized life to live out in the wilderness away from the scrutiny of the now overzealous guards. Some likeminded citizens joined them and began to wander as a nomadic tribe for several years before settling in the Ferosh hills. Rumos already being a decent hunter further honed his skills and would teach the rest of the group including his son Tassus. Growing up in this environment, Tassus became a very skilled hunter in his own right.
When Tassus finally reached an age where he could go solo on a hunt, his father tasked him to take down a wild boar in the Finra woods. While on this mission, he was ambushed by bokoblins and badly hurt. He was able to treat his wounds but this greatly slowed his progress. In his weakened state, he found an owl that trapped itself in some vines while trying to dive-bomb a rabbit. He felt a kinship with this animal seeing as they were both hunters in a vulnerable state. He freed the owl and tended to its mangled wings. After a few days, he was saved by a rescue team lead by his father. He would continue to watch after the owl until it was strong enough to hunt on its own again. When the day came to release the owl, it took flight and left only to return a few minutes later with a fresh kill that it dropped at Tassus’s feet. Seeing as he was here to stay, Tassus would name the owl Ikuh. Ikuh would not leave his side and they would develop ways to improve each other’s effectiveness.
Eventually word would reach the nomads of a new king attempting to mend the rift that Kadir caused. Being restless with his lot in life, Tassus begged his father to let him see civilization and experience life outside of the forests. Rumos, wanting to confirm the situation had calmed down agreed to let him journey to the various towns and send reports back. He’d spent the next 8 years journeying across the land. In this time he began taking mercenary work, applying his hunting skills to a new field. For these jobs he would don a mask and take up the name Theodwin so no one could track the jobs back to him. To this day he still travels long after finishing his duties to Rumos becoming accustomed to his new drifting lifestyle.
