Here is a list of each playable race we have, as well as a little bit of information about them! If you have any additional questions about any of the races, the members of the Admin/Moderator team has chosen a specific race to summarize.
HyrulianBlackCat: Goron & Gerudo
JBorgon: Rito & Hylian
Z64: Zora
Amaterasu: Sheikah
Hylians:
Hylians are a race of humans ruled by a Royal Family with pointed ears and long lifespans. They favor milder climates but can live just about anywhere with the proper equipment. While they have the ability to live to 100 years, it is more common to live until their 70s or 80s. Notable historical figures include Link and Zelda, the Hylian Champions from the time of Calamity Ganon. Their current leader is Queen Talisha, a teenager thrust to the throne who is trying her best. Due to her young age and inexperience, the Council of Families is technically ruling the Hylians and their territories.
Gerudo:
The Gerudo are another human race that is comprised only of females, with a lifespan similar to that of Hylians; aproximately 70 to 80 years old, with stretches up to a century. There have been no male Gerudo in thousands of years, the most recent being Ganondorf. They are a desert dwelling race, and the harsh climate of the Gerudo Providence has made them into fierce and feared warriors. Gerudo skin tones range from pale to very dark, and their eyes come in a variety of colors, including gold. They are currently ruled by Avani, daughter of the previous leader Riju. There is, however, a hidden splinter group in Arbiter's Grounds led by the Gerudo Kutafu.
Rito:
Rito are bird-like creatures who have the ability of flight, and have lengthy lifespans of 80 to 90 years old. They are much taller than human creatures, and the color of their feathers can range from neutral colors to pastels. They have beaked mouths and clawed feet, and are better suited to colder climates. They are currently ruled by Chieftain Tulin's two daughters Talia and Sankei, however Tulin retains the Cheiftan title. While most Rito live in an area originally named Rito Village in Lake Totori, they have since renamed it Rito City due to its increase in size.
Zora:
The Zora are amphibious humanoids who, like the Rito, have various colours to the scales. A Zora's scales range from blue and purple to green and brown, but have been seen in shades of red as evidenced on Prince Sidon and Lady Mipha. They have long tail fins sprouting from the backs of their heads and additional fins on their arms, and their heads resemble aquatic creatures ranging from fish to sharks and whales. They are excellent swimmers, the strongest of which are able to swim up a waterfall despite the rushing water. They are better suited to more more mild climates but have a need to be near the water. They have expanded from Zora's Domain to include an additional territory Cape Cresia in Faron, and have made peace with the Hylians of Lurelin Village. Unlike humans, Zora live for quite a long time, most reaching two to three centuries of age. King Dorephan still rules Zora's Domain, and will be succeeded one day by Prince Sidon.
Gorons:
Gorons are a race of all seemingly-male creatures made almost entirely of rock, and make their home in mountains as their diet consists exclusively of rocks. Their skin mainly stays in brown and orange tones, but can drift into dark greens, they have rough, rocky growths on their back and small amounts of silvery to white hair atop their heads. As they age, Gorons will grow beards of the same color and become hunched over as the growth on their back develops. Goron are also quite strong, and most mine gemstones and precious metals to sell as they "are not very tasty." They are currently ruled by Big Boss Yunobo, who remains in Death Mountain, with two Co-Bosses Gorko in Hebra, and Darugork in the Highlands.
Sheikah:
The Sheikah are an elusive race that live about half as long as Zora, getting to about 150 years in age. Their build is similar to that of a Hylian, although they typically have silver hair rather than blonde, brown, or black. They are currently ruled by Elder Paya, who is the granddaughter of their previous Elder, Impa. They are an incredibly technologically advanced race, although their advances have been stifled by the Hylians. There are rumors of a splinter group from long ago, the Yiga Clan, still hiding out in the snow covered northwest, but these claims have yet to be confirmed.
