Mezon chuckled a little at the Rito's happy outburst as she realized who he was fully. He did not mind that she hadn't understood what he was asking as he hadn't had high expectations for that to work either way, but was glad at least some of the message had gotten across. When the small awkward silence fell he wished, not for the first time, that he could break it if only to let the girl know she need not worry as he didn't find comments like that nearly as insensitive as people might usually think, but before he could wave it away or something along those lines that shopkeeper rudely interrupted.

He turned to notice for the first time that they were standing near a dye shop. While he found a certain calm in the beauty of all the different colors, he wouldn't usually be keen on spending money on things like these. While he understood the shopkeeper's frustration, his roughness hadn't done much to entice him to buy either. He approached the stall more so he could act like he was taking a closer look at the wares before turning to Juli and shaking his head even though he knew the question hadn't been directed at him.

"I don't know Jules, maybe we should buy something since we were being kind of rude..." Alouette said quietly, beginning to look over the products the shopkeeper had lined up. "But, then again," she patted her pockets, and smiled sheepishly. "I left my rupees in another pair of pants," she turned to the man who'd just yelled at them and began apologizing profusely while slowly backing up towards Julianna. "SO sorry! Maybe I'll swing by tomorrow!" She turned towards Mez, rubbing the back of her head awkwardly. "So uh, would you wanna walk around the shops with us? We could try to find Tebin! If Jules is okay with that, I mean,"

"Oh, uh, sure!" Juli replied. "Fair'll probably be more fun with an extra person anyway!"

Together, the trio moved away from the dye stall and into the stream of people making their way through the row. Looking on both sides of her, Juli began to get a sense of just how many people were at the fair. Obviously the crowd for Talisha's speech had been huge, but it wasn't like she'd had a spot where she got a good look at the group as a whole. Having to physically move through the space they occupied was much more informative.

"So, umm, I picked the first spot, so next one's up to you guys," Juli told her companions.

Mezon was happy to tag along, particularly after the Rito (who he now knew to be named Allie, after the other girl had called her that) had suggested they might find Tebin. He was glad even if he hadn't been fully understood before it seemed that he had ended up doing what he wanted to in the first place. Knowing that Tebin might actually be around them somewhere filled him with a warmth that he hadn't felt in months. As they moved through the crowd he began glancing at the different stalls they were walking past. The variety present at this fair was beyond impressive, considering people of all different races had decided to attend and sell their wares. It was hard to focus on one merchant when the next had already begun beckoning them to approach their own shop, and so on.

After walking past a Hylian promising "the world's finest golden cucco eggs" that looked suspiciously like large pebbles and a Zora that seemed to have decided to bring every type of fish in the river to their stall, Mez stopped abruptly as he heard a little bark. He turned the aisle towards the sound and couldn't help but grin as a small stall with fifty different puppies behind a small fence came into view. He quickly turned to the two girls with a look almost begging for their permission before quickly rushing to investigate what kind of tiny creature had been making that adorable barking noise.

Allie grinned and grabbed Julie's hand to drag her along as they followed Mezon, intrigued by the yapping sounds. As they approached the stall, Allouette gasped and held her face in both hands. "They're puppies!" she exclaimed, leaning down to scratch one behind its ears, forgetting to ask the shopkeep permission. "They're so cute! Jules look, they're still babies!" she reached down with another hand to pet another dog, quickly becoming overwhelmed by the cuteness in the pen. "Oh, I need more hands," she whined.

Julie let Allie pull her thorough the crowd, offering genuine yet curt apologies to the various people she accidentally nudged on the way. When the pulling stopped she took a moment to dust herself off, though her attention was quickly stolen away as she picked up the cacophony of puppy noises nearby.
She looked up and saw her Rito companions kneeling in front of a pen filled with puppies of various breeds. She watched them while still frozen in place for a few seconds, then quickly put herself between the Rito and reached out to pet the puppies themselves.

"Hello, hello!" Juli greeted the dogs, her voice pitched into "babytalk" mode. "You are all so cute, yes, yes you are!"

The pup hogging her right hand was a spry Akkalan cattle dog, almost seemingly to fall asleep as she pet him, but reviving himself with the energy of five other puppies if he sensed her hand drawing away from him. It was a difficult situation as she wanted more than one hand to interact with the other dogs, but the Akkalan's persistence made it hard not to smile. He reminded her of the dog her neighbors in Tarrey Town had, who always greeted familiar faces with a ritual of wiggling, tapdancing feet, and a calm but firm offering of his head for pets. When she'd left, he'd been reaching old age, his movements steadily becoming slower, but his disposition just about as bubbly as ever. The memory brought with it a tinge of pain, remembering the last conversation she had before her departure, but Juli quickly caught the emotion and discarded it. She renewed her interest in the puppies, describing in great detail how adorable she believed all of them to be. She glanced occasionally to the side to see if her companions were getting ready to leave, but otherwise focused her attention fully on the dogs.

Mez couldn't help grinning as the two girls joined him to greet the tiny pups. He reached in, attempting to pet one but being met by many tiny playful nibbles instead. The sensation was delightful and for a moment he forgot why he was at the Fair and any other cares that had plagued his mind. Dogs had always been one of his favorite creatures, which might've seemed odd of a Rito, but there was no helping it. They didn't need to hear him speak (though they sure seemed to be loving the cooing and babying from the girls), they were always content to simply exist in the vicinity of those that showed them kindness. They were without judgement, comforting and fun to be around, nothing more than he could hope for in a companion. Having one to call his own would've been a dream, yet he knew a dog was a creature not suited for the lifestyle of a Rito, especially not one involved in so much fighting. As much as he would love one, it wouldn't be feasible until the day one of them learned how to fly. Boy would he pay a hefty sum for a day like that.

As if hearing his thoughts, the shopkeeper quickly shuffled over. "Lovely, ain't they? Finest breed of pups in all of Hyrule. Only 500 rupees a pop if y'all interested," she started, leaning close to Mez and giving him a toothy smile. "Won't find a better deal any day, anywhere, anyhow, we can guarantee it!" Mez looked up at the woman, stout and middle-aged but with the energy of someone much younger. The glint in her eye told him everything he needed to know about the sale she was trying to lock in, but he still smiled at her in turn. He scratched a dark brown pup behind the ear one last time before straightening back up. He shook his head gently in response and signed his thanks, moving his right wing out from his beak.

Disappointed, the woman turned to the other two without missing a beat. "How bout it? You won't regret taking 'em home for a second! In fact, for pretty young things as yerselves it'd be criminal not to have your own gorgeous pup alongside you! So much so, y'know what? I'll even knock some off and add a feeding bowl, I'm feelin' mighty generous what with the festive spirit and all the shebang. 440 ay, as good as it gets. Got ourselves a deal?"

Allie looked up brightly, a grin across her beak. "Sorry! I travel a lot for work, and Julie here is my scary dog!" she threw an arm around her best friend and pulled her close. "They sure are cute though, but isn't 500 Ruppees kind a lot for a dog? I can find way bigger dogs all over Hyrule!" she leaned in to scratch behind one of the dogs' ears once more before distancing herself from the pack. She was much taller than the lady, though she missed the greed in the shopkeep's eye that Mezon had seen. "And those dogs will come with you if you feed them enough. You know, the ones at the Outposts?"

Lurrul could smell the event in Hyrule Field before being able to see or hear anything. He noted that the scent was relatively disgusting, given that the smell was an amalgamation of different cultural cuisines. As the carriage closed in on the event, the sounds of singing, laughter, and cheeriness filled the air. The carriage continued past the event, skirting around the outside. He was on official business to attend the event, even if reluctantly. He knew this would help him save face, however, the news that he brought for Queen Talisha was also of grave concern. Looking out, Lurrul could see the different citizens and peoples of Hyrule. Rito, Zora, Goron, Hylians and Gerudo all collectively enjoying their time at the ceremony. Lurrul looked down at the sealed jar he had on the seat next to him. He watched the glowing purple and black ooze move, as though it had suddenly come to life. Lurrul squinted at it knowing full well there was Sheikah tech somewhere at the event. If everything in the future was to unfold the way he intended, then he would need to make sure that the jar's contents reached the banned technology. Fortunately, his sources were on site and gave him accurate intel already.

Lurrul ordered his driver to stop the carriage. Discreetly, a man with white hair and clothing approached the side of the carriage. Lurrul lowered the window on the door facing the man to show only his eyes and above, but see the man's face completely. Lurrul handed the man the jar of ooze and said quietly, "You know what to do with this, right?"

The man nodded to indicate a confirmation. He took the jar and put it into his large satchel strapped to his side. Lurrul raised the window and slammed his cane into the floor of the carriage twice. A second later, the carriage moved forward again with the man in white clothing walking away casually and into the crowd, as though nothing unusual had occurred.

After a couple more minutes, Lurrul's carriage stopped at it's final destination. The driver opened the door to the carriage and helped Lurrul out. Lurrul used his cane to keep himself stable as he stepped out, planting both feet onto the ground. He looked around and could see the bulk of the event taking place to his left. Ahead of him was the Queen's tent that was behind the stage. He slowly, but steadily walked forward to the tent. The guard's stood at attention watching Lurrul, not trusting him, despite being the Lord of Hateno. He gave the soldiers a disgruntled look and simply made a hmph as he walked into the tent.

As he entered, he looked stood still, scanning for the Queen.

As time drew closer for the Zora headliners to go on, Manager Moto relentlessly ordered them around in their preparations backstage. No matter how thoroughly Vata pored over their guitar solo, or how tediously Doctor Japi tuned his coral organ, Moto flubbered on about the importance of this night. “When that clock strikes eight, it’s showtime! You appear before thousands of adoring fans! Give them the Tsunami 6 they love! And for the rest - this is the day the world knows Tsunami 6! Welcome to your legacy, my friends!” He is an unbridled mix of anxiety and optimism, knowing what a rich fish this is making him. His quick eyes land on Mikaela and the stylist who labors over her. “Valura! I want Mikela to be the prettiest looking darling that ever stepped on land!”

“Yeah yeah, Moto. She’s the jewel of Eventide!” Valura, the stylist, answered brightly, yet with a sarcastic drawl and a roll of the eyes. She was hunched in front of Mikela with intense focus, applying glitter to the singer’s face.

“That’s right! Our shining sea-starlet!” Moto walked over to a table as he spoke and stopped, looking down at something with as much of a brow-furrow as his scales allowed. He swiped a paper off the table with a smack. “‘Shell and Spine’? You don’t got a song called that!”

Mikela let out a huff from her makeup chair, as if deflating. She frowned into the mirror as Valura worked on her.

“Yes we do,” Kiko answered bluntly without pause, the tension evident in his voice.

“Not that I’ve heard, or anyone else for that matter.” Moto said as he got to work scratching that song off the setlist with a sea quill. “Let me remind you folks, this isn’t a night at the lounge. This is Hyrule, and Hyrule wants Tsunami 6! Give 'em the hits! Not the time to debut your experiments.”

“It’s still Tsunami 6,” Kiko responded defiantly. “Me and Mikela wrote it. Our music changes, just like the die hard fans who grow with us. They will understand.”

“It’s a sad song,” Vata pitched in calmly, the one topic they seemed to care for. “Everyone feels a good ballad.”

“A ballad?!” Moto puffed. “This is the World’s Fair! Youthful exuberance is what you do best! Your brand! None of this sad detritus. Besides, you have a contract with the Queen to play these songs. It’s not a question.”

                      “Okay,” Kiko answered insincerely.

“Yes, okay. You wouldn’t want to insult the Queen, would you?” Moto asked, his pufferfish-like form spiking.

“I wouldn’t,” Kiko said, slightly less insincerely.

“We have all the time in the world to play new songs when we get back home, Kiko,” Bones offered in his mediative way. The two continued in a much calmer exchange, while Moto brought his cigar and loud mouth outside, striking up some other conversation.

During Moto’s whole tirade, Mikela was trying her best not to flex her face in exasperation while Valura put on finishing touches. “There there, Mikela,” Valura said softly once mister manager was gone. “Your voice on a ballad? That would be something. Grace us with it, sometime, won't you.”

“I will, Valura,” Mikela sighs. “It's beautiful. I wish I could sing it tonight.”

A sly smile teases at Valura’s lips and she pauses her work to shrug, looking at Mikela in the mirror. “Hey, if the people like it, how can he complain? Right?”

Mikela eyed Valura in the mirror, seeing her motherly smile. Then, Mikela smiled.

"And if Prince Sidon likes it..." Valura suggested, raising a brow. The two friends broke into giddy chatter at the prospect of meeting the Zora Prince.

Kigokh was standing near his stall working on a small contraption on a desk. He was thinking about why he came to the Fair and what he aimed to show the people of Hyrule with his work. He recalled fondly his mother showing him how to use the Sheikah tech that had been long outlawed. Now that the late King Roark had lifted the Sheikah Accords prior to his death, he wanted to try and show the world that the time of Calamity Ganon was truly over and that there was nothing to fear from the once horrific tech. Mindlessly tinkering away, he glanced over at the curtain that was closed in a circle about 12 feet in diameter. He couldn't wait to show everyone his ideas.

People were coming and going, not paying much attention to the Sheikah. He understood why they were paying him no attention. After all, not even 100 years ago the Sheikah and their inventions were responsible for the systematic extinction event that nearly wiped out all of Hyrule. They likely looked down on him and were skeptical of whatever he had to offer. Still, he didn't let it bother him. Soon, he would show them that the Sheikah are friends and want nothing but to help.

Ceedora came strolling up to the outskirts of the Fair. She was beaming ear to ear. She loved seeing all the people who were there. She saw people of every shape and size. She saw Zora, Gorons, Gerudo, fellow Rito and, of course, Hylians. She walked around the fair looking at all the food stalls and merchants looking to sell their wares. She had no doubt some of them were shifty people, but she loved checking the stuff out.

"Hey little lady!" a gruff voice called out to her. Ceedora looked around trying to find who it was that was hollering at her. She saw a middle-aged Hylian with a large belly and scruffy beard calling out. "Come here! I gots something to show yous!"

Ceedora was curious. She tried to recall the last time someone specifically singled her out, but couldn't recollect a memory. She gleefully pranced over to investigate.

"How'dya like to take home this super rare elixir?" the man inquired while unraveling cloth to show her a brown tonic. "I calls it a 'Clarity Elixir.' When you try it, it helps yous empty your mind and see things differently and clearly. Tastes awful though!" the man said while chuckling to himself some.

Ceedora was fascinated with the idea of an elixir. She heard that there was a small group of people around Hyrule who knew how to brew concoctions that people could only dream of. Perhaps this is one of those people, she thought. She was, however, somewhat skeptical that the man was being honest.

"May I look at it?" she asked him, wanting to further inspect the liquid in the bottle.

"Sure! I ain't seein' why not?" the man said, offering it to her.

Ceedora picked it up and sloshed it around. She noted that the brown substance was very thick. As she continued to spin it around in the bottle, she saw that the sides of the bottle was still retaining some of the liquid, almost like a type of paste. She went and motioned to the man if she could pop the top off of it. "May I?"

The man huffed a little, but gave her a nod for permission.

Ceedora took a sniff and noted that it had earthy scents. She put the stopper back on and sloshed it around one more time and something inside it caught her eye. She spotted a little tiny pebble inside, a clue that helped her piece together the situation and what she had in her hands. "How much do you want for this?" She asked, not tipping the man off that she caught onto his ruse.

"For something to help yous clear your mind even when you're at your most anxious? For you pretty lady, I'll give you 75% off and sell it to you for 50 rupees!" the man said, doing his best to give her a flirty smile.

Ceedora feigned reciprocal affection towards the man. "I didn't bring that much with me. All I brought was 20 rupees," she said making a slight pouty face to the man.

"Aww shucks, 20 rupees will be plenty! Don'tchu worry 'bout nuttin'!" the man said now holding out his hand to complete the transaction.

Ceedora's pretend affection dropped to a serious face and tone. "Look buddy, this scam of yours might work for other unwitting women, but for me, I know this is mud. I saw the rock in it that you forgot to take out," she pressed in an accusatory way. She watched the man be taken aback and slightly flustered. She could tell he wasn't used to people catching him in his lie, probably never mind a woman.

"I- I- I don't know what your talking about!" he said, trying to recompose his facade to her. "That stone in there is a one-of-a-kind healing stone that helps facilitate the clarity of mind. You're not meant to drinks it!" he said trying to convince Ceedora and rather unsuccessfully.

"Tell you what," she began and put the bottle in her knapsack. "I'll just keep your sample here for free and I won't tell the rest of the fair about your sham!" she said, intentionally raising her voice to make the man believe she'll gossip.

"Alright, you win. Keep it! I have more anyway!" he said frustrated. "Now get lost!"

Ceedora turned and gave the man a polite salute before walking away with a big smile on her face. She was convinced it was mud in the jar, but just in case, she wanted to keep some if, by some miracle, he was being honest. She walked two minutes away before pulling the elixir out. She popped the top and drank some of it. She tasted it as it went down her throat. She coughed at the taste and how gritty and earthy it tasted as it went down. She made a face and muttered to herself, "Yup, that's mud alright," hardly able to utter the words. She put the stopper back on and put it away. At least she got a free bottle out of the experience.

He had never seen so many people in one place. His brilliant black feathers ruffled at the sheer din of crowds as he held close his pouch. he blundered through the crowd wishing he could have just flown over, but the only clear spot to take off and land was back at the gate. The poor overwhelmed bird was mindlessly working his way towards a clear area near a stall bearing the Sheikah insignia. He backed up against it upon pushing through the crowd and, still clinging for dear life to his pouch, tripped, falling over the proportionally small counter of an event stall leaving a puff of black feathers in his wake. he was taking his breath back when his eyes met those of the owner. a Sheikah male who seemed to be in the middle of tinkering with something in the back. 'S-So sorry about that." he stuttered out while scrambling to upright himself.
