The following is a continuation of a Drive RP. At present it is closed to additional participants.

She continued inputting commands until the ship had fully escaped the gravitational well of the planet. Then she leaned back in her seat and patted the armrest. "Good boy," she murmured. She knew it wasn't the fastest or most powerful ship, certainly not the largest (one could argue it was too large for her alone), but it was her ship, and it did its best for her.
She looked over at Sylvester with a grin. "First stop I've in mind is an outpost near the edge of your solar system to stock up on resources again. Most of my reserves were used up in the repairs, and I'd like to see if there's any evidence of where Farghast went while I was laid up here." She hadn't lost much time, but enough hours had passed to put the criminal several light years away, depending on how convinced he was as to her death in the crash.

"Edge of the solar system, huh?" Sylvester shuddered at the thought of how far that was as he gazed into the abyss of space. "Well, that's a first." He couldn't understand how he was so comfortable if they were moving so fast. He didn't feel any force, in fact feeling more weightless than usual. He suddenly wanted to listen to dream pop as they flew through the cosmos. "Do you have speakers on this thing?"

"Speakers?" she repeated, frowning. "As in the intercom? Yeah, but who would you be wanting to message? No one else is on board the ship except us and the droids." She wasn't even going think of him using the interspace communications either. While she doubted he'd actually be able to invite any trouble on them, given that few if any roaming ships would be able to understand his language, she'd rather not risk that possibility, or that someone else would recognize her ship's ID and wonder what she was doing letting someone else talk on the comms. Not even Daniel had been allowed on her comms, although he had never shown any interest in it.

"No, not for a message," Sylvester said. "Forget about it." He remained slumped in the co-pilot seat and soon was paralyzed there with tiredness. The stars glowed in his vision even after his eyes were glued shut. In minutes he slipped unconscious.

She continued navigating the ship, keeping her habitual eye on the readings on the various displays. She spotted a few ships on her sensors, but very few, and ones her system quickly recognized. Most were smugglers or pirates, and she hid a smile as she sensed them sizing her ship up in case it was a threat or a target. This was part of why she had indulged in a larger ship than most would expect a single being to command: large enough to be no easy mark for hungry pirates, but small enough to be no obvious threat to smugglers. It was posturing more than anything; she could outmaneuver most who attacked her, but her own weapons were tricky to engage while she was focused on navigating. This was why she strongly preferred to chase her quarry down to ground, so she could take them hand-to-hand. The other reason being that it was hard to turn in a bounty if the target had been killed during a space battle.
She glanced sideways as she heard a gentle snoring and smiled as she realized Sylvester had fallen asleep. She sent a quick command, and one of the two hover droids appeared with a thin blanket that it proceeded to drape over him. She flicked a few controls over to autopilot, then pulled some streams from the database. She was curious about this planet Earth, and wondered just how much information was stored in the intergalactic net about it. She acknowledged that much of it would be outdated or theoretical, given the ban on interfering with lower leveled planets, but there would be some things of note based on its positioning in the solar system, if nothing else. She was amused to note that Medy had already uploaded the data it had processed on its medical examinations. Unlikely they would be so much as glanced at, for similar reasons, but she appreciated the droid attempted to share the knowledge in case anyone else happened upon the planet.
She was unsurprised to learn that it was a greater size than her own planet, given its higher gravity. She was intrigued that they had much shorter days, meaning that Sylvester would likely have a shorter sleep cycle than she did. Its closer position to the sun explained why it was so much warmer and brighter than her own planet. Its atmosphere wasn't as far reaching, likely in part because its trees, or the relatively few it had, were significantly shorter than the ones on her home planet. She wondered if this was part of why its inhabitants hadn't attempted space travel yet. Or perhaps they'd not evolved as quickly as other species had? She glanced sideways at Sylvester as she considered another option, that they were simply too focused on pleasing themselves through various food, drugs, and other activities to consider there might be more to existence. The thought amused her for a moment before she turned back to her research, pausing every few minutes to check the ship was still on track.

Some time later, Sylvester woke from extremely groggy his slumber. The view out the window had changed since he had fallen asleep. There was a blue giant of a planet ahead, and he assumed they were only going to pass by as the ship wasn't aimed directly at it. They were actually getting quite close now.
His awkward sleeping position had made left his muscles uncomfortably stiff. He stretched out his long legs, picking them up to rest them on the edge of the console. His left foot hit something that clicked. Soon everything was in a quite literal downwards spiral towards the blue planet.
"Oh god," he cried, realizing his error. "Xio do something!"

Zaria stretched wide as she stepped onto the balcony of her abode, turning her gaze skyward. Above was a brilliant cyan sky with only a handful of purple clouds dotting the otherwise clear view. Below her was the sea and her waiting pirate ship, flying a false flag to cover her tracks. A glint appeared in the sky, drawing Zarias gaze back. "What the..."

The hunter had, by this time, moved on the scanning the various feeds across the net, catching up on various news. She might not care excessively about the politics of the various systems she passed through, but she liked to know if anything was being debated that would influence how she completed her job. She had set the ship on full auto-pilot, and while she'd been marginally concerned it had decided to pass close to another planet, she figured it was going to use the gravitational pull to slingshot the ship towards the waystation faster.
At least, until Sylvester had shifted and put his legs on the console. His foot hit on of the controls, and she felt the immediate response of the ship. Hastily she dropped the display she'd been looking at (an article about someone trying to legalize keeping bendu as pets. Why would anyone want to do that?) and began attempting to take back control of the ship. She hissed with frustration as the ship denied her efforts, and turned her glowing eyes on Sylvester. "Get you feet off the console right now," she ordered, her crest of fur starting to fluff with her aggravation. As soon as his feet were down on the floor, and no longer holding the various controls in place, the ship recognized her commands again.
By this point it was too late to pull them from the gravitational well. All she could do was ensure they landed safely. Various oaths flew from her lips in nearly every language she knew (although to Sylvester, the nanos were only able to translate the words directly corresponding to "fuck") as she fought to set the ship on a more graceful flight. More oaths as she realized the area of the planet they were on was covered in water. She began inputting more commands, trying to give the ship a way to cushion itself. She couldn't afford for it to land in the water and sink; the pressure would cause it to buckle in on itself almost instantly.
Then she noticed a ship sitting on the water. It wasn't much bigger than her space vessel, but this one was clearly designed for water, and appeared to be of a durable design. She grimaced, knowing she would inevitably do damage to the other ship, but she could (hopefully) pay the owner back for any necessary repairs. She pulled on the control stick and, almost delicately, set her ship to land on the sea vessel. She winced, hearing the protests of both ships, but she had no choice. She couldn't risk landing on the few buildings she could see above the water, in case they weren't able to handle the weight of her ship. At the sea vessel seemed to be durable enough to handle it. She felt both ships shudder, then begin to gently bob on the water. She sighed with relief and powered off the engines. Her ship would appreciate a break after that stress, and she needed to find the owner of the ship she'd just landed on. She turned her gaze back on Sylvester. "Next time I say don't touch anything, that includes with your feet," she growled.

Sylvester blinked as Xiomara growled at him. "Yes captain," he answered, still piecing his mind together after the long sleep. He stood up and set his sights to the landscape out their window. They seemed to have chanced upon a tiny town amidst a vast blue ocean. A bird person was on the docks glaring up at their vehicle. "Uhhh..." he looked at her for an explanation.

She was already out of her seat and heading through the ship. Her step firm, she pulled out her tablet and began hitting keys, looking to determine where they were. A planet named Terarn, it was nearly entirely covered by water. The inhabitants had built floating cities, like the one they were at, but there were also several submerged. While incapable of space travel themselves, the natives were aware of their more advanced neighbors, and had found ways to trade with any alien travelers. Their ships, designed for the high pressure of water travel, were powerful behemoths, and she winced as she realized the ship she had landed on, while clearly capable of still floating with her ship on top, would certainly appreciate being relieved of its burden.
She checked her blaster was still on her hip and charged, the phaser knife tucked in her boot, then strode towards the entry bay. Fortunately the way it opened was unlikely to cause extra damage to the other ship, or cause enough motion to rock her ship off it. She punched in the open command, then hopped out, landing carefully on the other ship. She saw someone, likely the owner, glaring at the ship, then at her when she appeared, standing on the docks, and made her way over. She offered an apologetic smile. "Sorry," she started in Common. "My copilot accidentally disengaged the auto pilot; it was all I could do not to crash into the dock."

Zaria was busy ranting in her native tongue, spitting swears at Xio and her ship, before she finally calmed down enough to switch to Common. "You wrecked my fucking ship!" she shouted, gesturing wildly to the mess before her. "What kind of copilot isn't smart enough to leave well enough alone and keep autopilot engaged!?" towards the end of her sentence she'd switched back to Ritotion, Terarn's native language, and finally put her head in her hands. "This ship was my only way to earn any money." she grumbled in Common, just loud enough for Xio to hear. Zaria had a number of debts to pay on the planet, and piracy was her sole source of income. Since she and her childhood friend, Zulo, had been young they would pretend to be pirates, but as they grew older, he was groomed for leadership and she made their dreams a reality for herself.

Sylvester stumbled as he got out of the copilot's chair and almost accidentally hit another button as he balanced himself. He headed to exit the ship, assuming the atmosphere was safe for him. He hesitated at the door, wanting to get his guns from his car. Better safe than sorry, he thought. He walked back down the ship to the chamber where his car was and retrieved his pistol from the trunk, sliding it in his belt under his shirt to sufficiently conceal it. By the time he went outside, the bird person was raging in her native tongue and some of what he heard as English.

The èirinn winced at words slung her way. She might not understand the native language of the Terarn, but she knew curses when she heard them. She waited patiently for them to stop long enough for her to put in a word edgewise, but hesitated when Sylvester joined her. The tiny computers they shared enabled the pair to understand each other regardless of what language either chose to use, but she knew they were incapable of translating anyone else's word for the Earthican, due to some intricacies that she hadn't bothered learning when she'd first been gifted the set. He would be hearing a one-sided conversation, and she knew she had to be carefully of what exactly she said to keep him from escalating the situation any further.
"One who hadn't been properly trained," she answered the Terarn, still speaking Common. "I do sincerely apologize, and I will pay for any and all repairs needed." She debated offering the use of her repair droids but knew that wasn't likely an option. For starts, the droids were equipped only with the schematics of the ship they were attached to and would therefore be incapable of repairing any other vessel. For another, she didn't have the materials she'd need for them to utilize. And besides all that, any repairs wouldn't be possible as long as her ship still sat on top of the sea faring vessel. Hopefully the damage done would be minimal enough that the ship could be repaired without her having to worry about paying the Terarn for missed work as well. She'd negotiated repairs for damages ships before, and while the ship itself was usually a pretty flat rate, the arguments always arose regarding how much pay was being lost by how long the ship was out of commission and the owner thusly unable to work.

Zaria sniffed, urging the start of tears back into her eyes - there was no way she'd be caught dead crying in front of anybody, let alone a stranger. She finally picked her head up out of her hands and glared at Xio. "You're damned right you will!" she shouted in Common, throwing her arms behind her. "Do you know how many contracts I have to cancel now because my ship is wrecked?! I have half a mind to sell that little copilot of yours to make up for the damages!" she jabbed a finger at Sylvester, who she understood to be the culprit behind the crash. "Not that he'd fetch much if he's still a chick," she muttered, switching back to her native tongue for a moment.

Sylvester frowned as Xio spoke. Is she talking about me? Then he flinched when the bird person shouted back. Clearly Xio was able to understand, so he stood down and awaited her response.
