    Xaid laughed. "Deadly force my foot. You belong in a museum, not on the battlefield." He fired three stun grenades, one at the droid, and one to each side.

    Note: Perhaps I should explain, a EMP stun grenade has a somewhat large blast radius(About half a meter) and if a droid is hit by one, their systems are temporarily scrambled(about 4 or 5 seconds) and any targeting systems are down for double that time.

      The screen on Grenex's face went black, then showed a static pattern as two of the grenade's blasts hit him. The Gauntlet blade hummed on and he slashed at Xaid.

        Xaid smiled. "See what I mean? Anything built within the last 20 years wouldn't be SHUTTING DOWN right now!" He took out his katana, then twisted and stabbed the butt at the droid. "I need your name so I know what to write on my kill list."

          Grenex twisted his wrist, slicing into the katana. The screen on his face flickered and he jumped forward, a longsword extending out as he tackled the rebel, activating his jetpack.
          "I repeat, deactivate your weapons and you're chassis will remain intact."

            Xaid went on a wide overhead slice with his katana, then kicked at the other droid. He did a backflip, then opened fire with stun grenades.

              Grenex's screen blacked out and he crumpled, the jetpack stuttering before dropping him onto the ground. His shield flickered off, along with his blade.

                *OK dude, four posts is a wee bit too much*

                Xaid looked down at the droid. He wasn't dead, just perhaps stunned. Xaid skated over to the vehicle the droid had driven in. It had six wheels, and a turret on top, presumably all controlled from the central cockpit. Xaid climbed in, then aimed it towards the rebel base and drove towards it.

                  The droid lay in the sand, unmoving, until the tank was out of sight. He stood up with a whirring of gears, an antenna rising up from his shoulder.
                  'They have taken the bait. Requesting permission for remote upload.
                  The plates on Grenex's armor shifted, forming an immoving shell, the lights powering down to a dim glow.

                  Inside the tank's central cockpit, a camera activated, focusing in on the Rebel. A small box next to it's head gently hummed, unhearable over the engines, as the AI inside planned the base's capture.

                    Xaid smiled(figuratively) then stopped suddenly. He knew that these vehicles had security measures, but he hadn't encountered any.

                    Perhaps they were disabled when I killed that droid.

                    He shrugged, then charged ahead to the base.

                      Grenex's AI caught the change in mood and cautiously probed into Xaid's hard drive; the driver was hooked up to the system.
                      'Security measures? I switched them off. I might need to do something simple.'
                      He initiated a lockdown that could be overriden with a common hack and actived the system. In seconds, the sceens shut down and metal plating grew to cover the exits.

                        Xaid cursed silently as the machine shut down and the exits were covered. He knew he could probably hack into it, if he had any skill in that sort of thing. He remembered something. He knew of an override that melded a droid and a vehicle into one being. He hoped it would work here. His body had already joined with the vehicle(It was like an extension of his body.). He madly worked his way through the encryptions and firewalls, as this was the only sort of hack he could do. Then, he got it. He felt the metal parts shift and slide around. Suddenly, he felt legs and arms again. It had worked. He was about a foot or two taller, and a turret was on his shoulder. There were two wheels on each of his feet. His head was under the same cockpit cover as before. He turned around to where the droid was, and yelled. His voice was deeper and louder. "Wanna face me now?!"

                          Grenex's body didn't move at the challenge, being offline, but his AI, now sharing a body with Xaid, hacked into the command terminal.
                          A holographic head appeared in Xaid's vision and boomed out

                            Xaid was suddenly scared. The voice of the droid was in his head. Panicking, he disconnected himself from the machine, and jumped out of the cockpit. He fell onto his shoulder and there was a small crunching sound. As he stood, he tested his left arm and his fingers. He got angry when he discovered his left hand was limp.

                            Great. Just what I needed.

                            He turned around to the base.

                            I wonder what that other droid... Anwar, is doing. She should've gotten somewhere by now.
