Ok, for those of you who don't know house of night is a book serious about vampires, really awesome vampires. So, I'm going to explain all the things you will need to know About it.
First: vampires start off as fledglings, they are marked when they are about 16 by a vampire tracker. When they are marked a crescent moon will appear in the middle of there forehead. When they are marked they go to the house of night, a school for fledglings to learn about what they are going to become, there are different house of night schools all over to world. eventually the fledglings will become vampire, however if fledglings aren't around vampires for a while they can die, and in fact fledglings can die if they don't complete the change. The vampires have a full crescent moon tattoo which is expanded, each vampires tattoo is different.
Second: there are two types of vampires/fledglings, red and blue. Both types feel more comfortable at night, although the blue ones can go out durning the day while the red ones can't. both the vampires need blood however the fledglings don't usually like blood until they are older and closer to the change. They also eat normal food. Red vampires and fledglings can manipulate the minds of humans, however the blue ones can't. All vampires are seriously initiative (so don't ever think of lying to them) they live for a lot longer then humans to. Red fledgelings tend to die and become reborn with red tattoos, however someones if a human is "broken" (meaning they are blind or something like that) they become a red fledgling straight away.
Third: vampires live in a society based on girl power, meaning the women rule. That doesn't mean males aren't equal or respected it just means there role is different. Men are usually warriors, while women are priestesses, or high priestess, all can be teachers. Vampires usually go into occupations such as acting, art, music and stuff like that. There is a high priestess at each house of night. The whole vampire society is lead by a council of extremely old vampires (who are voted in every few centuries or so) and a high priestess of all vampires who rules until she dies. They also worship there goddesses nyx and have a ritual for her every full moon.
Fourth: vampires have affinities, they can be for different things such as the five elements (air, fire, water, earth, spirit) most vampires only have one affinity, men usually have an affinity for something physical (such as a certain weapon) while women have affinities for something intellectual (such as visions from the future) no affinity is exactly the same, just as no person is exactly the same.
Finally: vampires can imprint with humans when they drink there blood, usually because they have an emotional connection of some kind. Once the human and the vampire (or sometimes a fledgling) have imprinted the human becomes there consort. A female vampire can also have a warrior and a mate. A mate is basically a high class way of saying boyfriend, while a warrior should be pretty obvious.

Personality: she is very kind, however she doesn't often talk to people. She is very opinionated and isn't scared to say what she thinks, often annoying people in the process. She will do whatever she can to protect the people she cares about.
History: her life was perfect until the day she was marked, her parents called her a freak and disowned her. She left for the house of night in tears. Luckily her best friend, Blake, will still come and visit her as often as he can, even if he has to sneak into the school to see her.
