Witch-Hunting
Ever since Salem, witches and warlocks that survived the hunt have been planning on their revenge. For three hundred and twenty years, they got stronger, better, and now they’re finally back. However, not all is well for the magic-wielding people, for the witch-hunters are still here as well. They always knew. They were always waiting for them to come back. And, like the witches and warlocks, they too learned a few new tricks.
War has broken out over the lands. The hunters were strong, but the witches were stronger. They eradicated most of the hunters, and are close to claiming control of what they previously owned. However, they missed some hunters. These hunters were smarter than the others, they hid near the witches’ fortress. It is rumored that one witch or warlock holds the power of all others. If that witch or warlock were to be destroyed, all the others would lose their power. This is the goal of the remaining hunters. It is not that easy though, for this magic-wielder is part of a special group. They call themselves “The Elders”. They are the toughest of the bunch. But the hunters have a plan. They kidnapped some of the Elders in the night after much work and tortured them. Finally they caved in and cast the spell the hunters wanted them two. That being done, they killed the ones that were kidnapped. The spell worked like a charm and a mystical mist descended upon the minds of everyone. No one knew who each other was, and the hunters blended in with ease. Now it was time for the rest of the plan to start...

Welcome to the Witch-Hunting of Salem: Revolutions! This game needs at least 8 people to get started, but up to 10 can play. If you want to play, just sign up here. If 10 people have already signed up (that’s a big IF) but you want to play, you can sign up as a replacement. How I will handle replacements is if someone that’s playing goes inactive (meaning that they don’t post at least once in a Day Phase) they will be replaced by one of the replacements. Once signups are complete, you will each be assigned roles randomly via PM. Then we will start. Please read the full rules below.
Rules
- DO NOT PM EACH OTHER ABOUT YOUR ROLES. Mystery and assumptions are the point of this game, so if all the Townies band together through PMs you will ruin this game. Play with integrity. Lying is fine though. Mafia members may lie that they are Townie. Deception is a major aspect of this game.
- DO NOT POST INFORMATION FROM OUTSIDE THE GAME. This means any information, revealing or otherwise, that comes from screenshots of the active user list, IM conversations, or anything. If you post such information, you will be ModKilled.
- You may only post in the Day period.
- Vote and unvote in the format: Vote: Player X; Unvote: Player X
- DO NOT REVEAL ANY INFORMATION AFTER YOU HAVE DIED. If you are a Mafia member and you die, do not reveal to anyone who else is Mafia because that information may end up in the hands of the Townies.
- IF YOU ARE INACTIVE YOU WILL BE REPLACED. Periods of not posting or voting in THIS public thread that last a for a while result in being removed from the game. After one Day Phase of not voting I will VM you during the Night Phase. If you do not respond before the Night is over, you will be replaced.
- DO NOT EDIT YOUR POSTS TO DELETE INFORMATION. If you forgot to add something, edit it and add it by stating it is an edit, but don’t delete what you had previously written. Same goes for correcting something you said. Only exception is when editing grammar and spelling or when the mod asks you to.
Basic Commonly Used Abbreviations/Words
IGMEOY: I've Got My Eye On You
FoS: Finger of Suspicion (When you are not sure enough to vote)
RVS: Random Voting Stage (usually occurs during the beginning where people vote at random)
Roles:
ANTAGONISTS (The witch-hunters):
Lilith
Azazel
Samuel (this will only be a role if we get 9+ signups)
PROTAGONISTS (The witches and warlocks):
Castiel: Is ‘The One’ and holds the power of all the magic-wielders. If he is killed ALL THE OTHER PROTAGONISTS LOSE THEIR POWER. The game will continue, but all their abilities will be gone. Cannot be killed by vote, only by nightkill from the Antagonists.
Dean (The Vigilante): Can choose to kill one person of their choice. Can only be used once.
Ruby (The Charismatic): Voting power counts as two. Can only be used once. PM me when you’d like to use it.
Megan (The Guardian): Protects a person from an attack by the antagonists. CAN protect the same person in a row as many times as they want but cannot protect themselves.
Joshua (The Seer): Every Night Phase will receive a phrase via PM that will hint at something or tell a clue about the events happening in the game.
Zachariah (The Martyr): Can choose to have himself killed instead of the person chosen by the antagonists.
Gabriel(le) (The Trickster): Can switch the targets of two people at night (example: I want to switch the target of the hunters with the target of the guardian). Can only be used once. (this will only be a role if we get 10 signups)
NOTE: Role and/or name claiming is completely acceptable. However do be careful of what you claim to be and who you choose to believe.
Night Phase: The hunters make their biggest move at night and talk with each other and decide who to kill. If they can’t decide on who to kill, Samuel’s choice takes precedence since he PMs me the name of the person. The Protagonists with night abilities also PM me during the night if they want to use their abilities. No one can post during this phase.
Day Phase:The magic-wielders try to figure out which of them are the enemies causing the mist while the hunters pretend to be witches or warlocks and try to throw suspicion on real witches or warlocks (discussion is confined to posts on this thread only). Everyone votes in the thread during the day and the day ends when majority is reached (or when the day limit is reached). The person with the most votes is disposed of.
If all hunters are killed the witches and warlocks win and the world succumbs to the power of magic. If Castiel is killed and the number of witches/warlocks is the same as the number of hunters, then the hunters fight and win. On a different scenario, if Castiel is still alive but the number of witches/warlocks is less than the number of hunters, the hunters still win. When the hunters kill ‘The Elders’ the rest of the magic-wielders surrender to the hunters.
If you don’t understand something or have further questions you can VM or PM me about it.
