So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

crap, was his first thought after being thrown into the arena. It was a flat desert: no shelter, and no chance of survival. worst of all, his opponent was a Rito. he surveyed the area, nothing but sand for miles. he pulled an arrow and stringed it cautiously. -
Rylin was grimacing. He had been thrown into this arena, being promised a prize if he won. As far as he knew, that prize was living. He saw a figure with a bow, obviously looking for him.
My opponent. Might as well be showy. He's just a kid.
He kicked off of the ground and launched himself into the air, kicking up a cloud of sand. He leveled himself off and dived at the boy, preparing to launch his whip.So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

Rin heard the sound and instinctively notched an arrow, where it was coming from. he prepared his twin, mini gauntlet-shields for what looked like a whip. he lowered his center of gravity, In hopes that his poor defense would be enough.Comment

Rylin felt his speed climbing. He landed and he threw his whip sideways as he did so, sliding into the blow. Rin shot the arrow. Immediately ducking behind what little protection his braces gave him, he withdrew his bow and readied a throwing-star. he could use hem as knives If all else fails.Comment

Rin saw his chance, the silver disc flew through the air, rotating vertically. he hoped the Rito was blind-sighted, just enough for him to miss it. he climbed up a nearby rock and started to ready his bow.Comment

Rin blocked one of the shots with his brace. just one. the other found it's way into his left shoulder, the arm immediately going limp, leaving his to cry out in pain. he realized that his bow was useless until he healed, if he healed. he ditched the bow and reached for another throwing star. the disc fell short in his weakness.Comment

Rylin, seeing his chance, dashed forward, spinning his whip around his head. He sidestepped and felt another metal disc... thing graze his leg, sending shocks of pain up and down. Rin grumbled as pulled out his last throwing star, although it was an easy shot, his good arm was weakened. it had to be perfect. he hesitated a bit, but was distracted by the subsiding numbness in his shoulder, it wasn't as deep as he thought. he tried not to get distracted but still missed by about a foot from the competitor.Comment

"Admittedly, I have done quite a lot better," he paused, drawing his bow, "but I don't think I'll have too." he notched another arrow and fired. even if he missed, in theory, his opponent would never reach him, at his height advantage, he would faint climbing up, with his current wounds. Rin couldn't help that he felt he was forgetting something though.Comment

Rylin lunged, wincing as he landed on his wrist. Grunting, he pulled out his chain crossbow, and pressed the trigger, greeted with the terrifying 'twang' of an unloaded string.
