I deleted the last thread because I felt the theme was too...constricting. Here I will post anything I feel like posting, and they will vary in length.

This first one is Link vs Connor from Assassin's Creed.

    Link's setup:
    One Fairy
    Two red potions
    Two green potions
    Master Sword
    Bow and arrow (30 arrows)
    Hookshot
    Bombs (5 bombs)
    Boomerang
    Din's Fire

    Connor's setup:
Slow health regeneration outside of combat
    Tomahawk
    Hidden blade
    Sword
    Bow and arrow (30 arrows)
    Pistol (5 bullets)
Wolf Cloak (Invisibility that slightly affects health)
Bear Might (Superhuman power that has huge toll on health)

The arena is a 50x50x50 feet cube, set up similar to a paintball field (is that what they are called?) with platforms on the walls accessible by climbing. There are five clearings : one in the north, one in the south, one in the west, one in the easy, and the center.

    FIGHT!

The two combatants entered the arena at the north and south ends. Connor immediately started climbing the nearest wall and got a good vantage point of the center part of the arena.

Connor had read up on his opponent before the match. This man had the Triforce of Courage, which meant he wouldn't be frightened by Connor's abilities like other men who had faced the assassin before. Connor had three powers like Link, but he didn't know if Link brought all of them or none of them. Connor didn't get to look at his opponent's inventory before entering the arena.

Link, however, who was searching the high platforms for signs of Connor, did manage to get a look at what Connor was bringing. He knew that in any moment, Connor could jump from above and either smash Link's body to pieces or shoot him. Link didn't want either to happen.

After jumping to a few other platforms, Connor waited for Link to get closer, then jumped. Connor fired his flintlock, and the bullet went straight through Link's head. Connor landed and turned around to examine the body.

    "Dissapointing. I expected more."

All the sudden, a fairy came out of a bottle Link had on him and revived the hero. In two seconds, Link stood again at full health.

Connor jumped back just before the Master Sword went through the spot that Connor had been in. Connor, not knowing Link didn't have a second fairy, took out his tomahawk and hidden blade (he pulls it out of it's original spot in the mechanism on his wrist and puts it in his right hand), and the fight began.

For a few minutes, they were equal, but then Connor caught Link's sword with his tomahawk and threw him off balance. When Link fell to the floor, Connor backed up a bit, started running, then a feet away from Link's body, jumped up and smashed the ground.

Luckily, Link had rolled to the side a bit, so the smash only sent him flying. Link knew from the amount of power used in that attack that Connor was using Bear Might. But this also meant Connor was very tired now.

As Connor saw Link reading an arrow, he took cover behind a small tower and heard the arrow fly right past him.

I need to hide. Connor told himself as he started to climb. When he got to the top, Link turned the corner and looked up.

"You can't get me from up here!" Connor shouted down, his health slowly regenerating. "You can't climb without vines or ladders!"

Link smiled. Connor would be surprised. Link took out a bomb, lit it, then ran away to take cover. Connor looked down and saw the bomb.

    "Hmph. I've escaped bigger explosions."

The bomb went off, crippling the base of the tower, making it fall towards the east side. Connor stayed with the tower for most of the fall, but jumped onto one of the nearby walls before it hit the ground. Connor assessed the damage that the tower had caused the arena. Many walls were damaged, but the fall had made weak parts of the tower to fall off, creating entrances. This would create an interesting change to the combat experience.

After getting close to the tower, Connor fired off a shot, then used Wolf Cloak while getting inside the tower just in case Link came earlier than planned, which he did. When Link got to the spot he heard the shot come from, he was confused. Where had Connor gone?

Suddenly, an arrow hit Link's left arm. He looked around, but nothing was there. Then, an arrow hit his other arm after he pulled the first one out. He looked around again, but nothing was there. But then Link remembered the Wolf Cloak.

Link jumped, turned around, and threw his boomerang. Out of pure luck, it hit Connor, which Link knew would temporarily knock him out. While Connor was unconcious, Link took out the second arrow and drank one of his red potions.

From outside of the arena, it looked like this was going to be an interesting fight. Shadow took a sip of his soda and ate a fistful of popcorn.

"I place my bet on the green one," he said.

"Nah, that assassin is totally going to win," Maxwell said, only because 1) he loved arguing with Shadow and 2) Connor reminded him of part of his army.

"No, no, you've both got it wrong." I said. "I think they're going to kill each other."

Part Two should be up Monday (4/29) because I don't have school.

Part Two of Connor vs Link
    Link's setup:
    One red potion
    Two green potions
    Bow and arrow (29 arrows)
    Hookshot
    4 Bombs
    Boomerang
    Din's Fire

    Connor's setup:
    Slow health regeneration outside combat
    Tomahawk
    Hidden blade
    Sword
    Bow and arrow (28 arrows)
    Pistol (4 bullets)
Wolf Cloak (Invisibility that slightly affects health)
Bear Might (Superhuman power that greatly affects health)

The arena is in the same state it was at the end of Part 1.

    FIGHT!

After Link drank his red potion, he turned around and went over to the unconscious Connor. He searched Connor's body for his gun, and found it.

Link considered shooting Connor now and just winning the battle. But then again, Connor had spared him while using Wolf Cloak by shooting arrows instead of bullets.

Link decided he would just even out the playing field. He destroyed Connor's gun, then proceeded to give him two bombs in a spare bomb pouch he had, and a green potion. While Connor would surely be able to use his animal powers when he woke up, Link thought it was as even as it was going to get.

In the watcher's box, Shadow growled in frustration.

"The fool. He's giving his opponent an advantage." Shadow said, wanting to break in the arena and kill both of them.

Maxwell chuckled. "No, Shadow, he's being fair. If you were a real fighter, you would know that."

Five minutes later, Connor woke up. He noticed he now had a bomb pouch and a green potion. He tied the bomb pouch his belt, drank the green potion (guessing correctly that it was not a poisonous drink), and went to find Link. He entered Wolf Cloak so that he would be able to take his time while checking an area.

Link sat in a dead end, his bow ready. When Connor was in his sights, Link would fire the arrow, which would allow him enough time to run up to him and fire another arrow, then finish him off. Of course, he didn't plan on Connor using Wolf Cloak.

Connor got really close to Link, then came out of Wolf Cloak with his tomahawk and knife out. He brought down his tomahawk right on Link's shoulder, which distracted him for a second. Once he realized Connor was getting ready to use Bear Might, Link pulled out his Hookshot and fired it at Connor. It hit him square in the stomach, but didn't go straight through his body (which Connor might've prefered over the extreme pain of the Hookshot hitting him in the gut). While Link struggled to get the tomahawk out, Connor climbed a wall and recovered from his injury on a high platform.

So because I don't want you guys to get mad at me for choosing one over the other, I'm giving all three possible endings to this fight.

    Ending 1: Link emerges victorious!

Ending 2: Another addition to those that haunt his dreams (Connor wins)

Ending 3: Both Killers, No Winners (They kill each other)

The following story contains censored vulgar language and references to *** and use of drugs.

This story also has no title.

I stumbled down the misty road, my revolver ready to shoot anything that moved towards me. The blade that had cut my leg had not been kind, and the bites were worse. It didn't matter though. As long as I made it where I needed to be before my inevitable death.

I thought about my life. I had the ****tiest childhood ever, guaranteed. My mother and father were afraid of me, so they put me at the doorstep of an orphanage, which had actually been abandoned. I was raised by a old man with nothing but cardboard. I couldn't tell you how many times I stole and shoplifted just to survive outside of school.

Teenage years were a bit better, but not by much. I actually had money, so I could get higher quality food, but *******s in high school almost ruined my life. Every stereotypical prank you see bullies use on nerds in high school movies? 70% of my memories from high school, right there.

I did have some girlfriends, but most of them turned out to be ****s. The others just *****ed a lot.

But there was one I was truly in love with. The one I killed, of course. I'm sure if she could somehow communicate with me she'd say it's wasn't my fault, but I know it was. How can it not be my fault when I purposely burned down her house?

Then, 20 to now. I lived a sinner's life before the zombies came. I had *** with multiple prostitutes, and I killed the ones who got pregnant. If you haven't guessed by now, I'm a messed up mother ****er. I paid one of my shady friends so I could get coke, and I robbed the guys who managed to rob banks. By the time I was 30, I was the most famous criminal in the world.

But it all changed when the zombies came. Some scientist messed up and created them, but they were in Europe, so I thought I was safe....until I learned zombies could swim in water.

I met two people and we made a group. I was the killer/hunter, a nerd named Sam was our engineer, and a girl from Miami named Brenda was our spokesperson when we talked with other groups.

All the groups depended on each other at first, but as they started to fall one by one, it was clear that if you wanted to survive, you'd had to join my group, because we survived on Sam's ability to modify guns and make traps and my ability to kill the zombies with said traps and modified guns.

Now that I think about it, this was the best part of my life. Too bad it will end with me dying. If you haven't guessed, I'm writing this on my death bed. Don't know what's up with that intro, though. Am I expecting someone to find this?

I'm only here because of the side of me that's ****ed up. I killed Sam and Brenda, then let the zombies corner me. I somehow got out of it, but not without getting attacked by someone who claimed to be Brenda's boyfriend and some zombies. But I've made it to her grave. You know, the girl from high school that I killed.

Even know you'll never read this, I want you to know that I'm sorry. I know you'd want me to think it was my so called "bad side" that killed you, but it's not that. I've never had a bad side. It's just who I am. And for that, I'm sorry you fell in love with me.

But at least the zombies have taught me something. It showed me that if you give a person a chance, they can be truly amazing. I learned this when Sam and Brenda first agreed to team up with me. They knew I was a very dangerous criminal, but they knew they needed me. Eventually, they seemed to treat me as a friend, which was completely new to me. People I knew up until they I hated or loved (though most of the time it was more lust than love), but never in the middle. Now I feel bad that I killed them.

Oh well. At least I will finally meet my end here, on the grave of the one I ever truly loved. I won't be surprised when I end up in hell.

So, you guys probably have a lot of questions about this story. Well, I wanted to do something zombies related. When I started writing, I realized how most media about zombies tend to avoid the survivor's life before, so I focused this story around that. Why it was so vulgar? Well, I wrote sentences how this character would say it, and that's how it turned out. Also, I know some of this stuff might be a bit crazy, but that's the main character for ya.

The character doesn't really have a name, like the story. There is no real need for it. I decided that as long as I felt the story was good, then I could do anything. All you really needed to know, he tells you in the story.

By the way, I'm looking for some ideas. I'm thinking another VS, but I want to post something new. If someone could PM me some ideas, that'd be great. Well, whatever it is, the next story is going to be posted next weekend. See you guy then.

          Prologue
A long time ago, they were a colony of echidna that lived on a part of Earth known as Downunda. Two scientists, Jordann and Kayla-La discovered that a comet known as the "White Comet" was heading towards Echidnaopolis. To escape the comet, they came up with a plan. First, miners would go out and obtain 12 Chaos Emeralds (one of these would become the Master Emerald, and another would become one of the seven legendary Chaos Emeralds). Then, they would make a chamber under Echidnaopolis and place the 12 Chaos Emeralds in that area. The final step would be modifying the chamber so that the power of the emeralds would lift Echidnaopolis and some of it's surroundings into the skies. The plan would've never worked if the fire ants, who had been watching the echidnas, seperated the land the echidnas intended to lift from the ground. This was how the Floating Island, known to it's current inhabitants as Angel Island, into the sky.

Four generations later, the great-great grandsons of Jordann and Kayla-La, Dimitri and Edmund, came up with a plan to return the Floating Island to the land it came from. At the time, they didn't completely understand what they were doing, but they theorized that using a device they had created called the Chaos Syphon, they could gradually drain the power of the emeralds and land the Floating Island into where it used to be. When they proposed their idea to the Scientific Elite (also known as the High Council), it was rejected. This greatly angered Dimitri, so he used the Chaos Syphon to make himself a god. With his power, he recreated life in Echidnaopolis. Most of the population was set to labor, but Edmund and one of the High Council were chained to a wall in a tower that Dimitri had built for himself. The fire ants, who still watched over the echidnas, ate away at the foundations of the tower, and while Edmund escaped, Dimitri was buried alive. After Dimitri's death, the echidna society promised to never touch technology again.

However, Menniker, the son of Dimitri, kept what he had in secret. After his father's death, he hated the High Council and all of those who supported them, so he formed the Dark Legion (and this is where I got the name for a part of Maxwell's army). The Dark Legion was a group of echidnas that shared the same views as Menniker. They also had cyborg implants so they would be physically better than those they opposed. One day, Stepphenwolf, son of Edmund, tried to listen in on one of their meetings but got caught. He managed to get in his flying vehicle and fly away, but the Legion was chasing him. To help Stepphenwolf, a council of fire ants sent one of their own to inform Edmund. When he learned of the trouble his son was in, Edmund rushed to the rescue. Stepphenwolf eventually crashed somewhere, so the Legion and Edmund looked for him. Edmund fought the Legionnaires that ran into him, but he was eventually killed. After the Legionnaires left, thinking that it was Edmund who they had been chasing, Stepphenwolf recovered from the crash and saw his father dead. Christopheles, the fire ant who had informed Edmund that Stepphenwolf was in trouble, came to his side and trained him to fight the Legion. When he was ready, Stepphenwolf confronted the legion and used Chaos Energy to throw them into another zone. From then on, Stepphenwolf's descendents would be trained to be Guardians of the Floating Island, and Menniker's descendent's would become Grandmasters of the Dark Legion (also, because they were in completely different zones, there was approximately one Grandmaster for every four Guardians) And because of Stepphenwolf's total mastery of Chaos energy, these Guardians would live longer. So in order to not have two active Guardians at the same time, the newest Guardian would perform the traditional Guardian duties and the older ones would stay in Haven, watching the active Guardian or go to a certain part of the world to gather intelligence. Christopheles' descendents would train the Guardians (in normal cases it would be one ant per three Guardians).

A few generations after Stepphenwolf, his descendent Hawking was dealing with a crisis. Dingoes, rivals to the echidnas, had stolen some of the echinda's ancient nuclear technology and were playing to use it on them. However, this wouldn't just affect Echidnaopolis. It would affect the whole island. To preserve the echidnas and the Dingoes, Hawking used the Hyper Zone projector to send the city of the Echidnas and the Dingoes into different zones. For a few generations, the duties of the Guardians in Haven were to restore Angel Island to it's former glory.

And this leads us to Guardian Locke. By the time Locke had been born (many generations after Hawking), Angel Island was restored. However, Hawking (who stayed in Echidnaopolis instead of going to Haven) didn't contain the power to move Echidnaopolis back.

Continuing on the subject of Locke, he married Lara-Le, and they had a child who they named Knuckles. However, Knuckles was not normal. Before Knuckles hatched (echidnas lay eggs), Locke brought him to Haven and used Chaos energy when experimenting on him. Not only did this make him hatch the next day, but it accelerated the pace in which his mind developed. Lara-Le and Locke had many disagreements on how Knuckles should be raised, and eventually Locke took Knuckles back to the Floating Island to initiate the first part of his training. In fact, by this time, it was tradition for the Guardian to train his/her son, then go to Haven and let the current fire ant take things from there. But still, some, like Sabre, grandfather of Knuckles, were trained similar to Stepphenwolf.

After giving Knuckles his primary training, Locke went into the wall of fire that disguised the entrance to Haven. Knuckles was despondent because he believed he was the last echidna alive, but Haven would watch him for a long time, and Echidnaopolis would be around for a while as well.

Our story begins after Knuckles has met Sonic the Hedgehog and a little before Archimedes, the descendent of Christopheles, stepped in to begin his job advising and teaching the him the things Locke didn't mention.

Bet you're all pumped up now, huh? Well things really get started in the first chapter of Knuckles (which is totally an original name), when Knuckles meets some of his long time friends for the first time.

If you're wondering where I pulled all this background information from, you can thank the Sonic Comics App (which I believe is only for iOS but I could be wrong), which has an almost complete collection of the Sonic comics by Archie. If you're still a little confused on the story, try reading it again or PM me. I know I had to look back a lot when writing this prologue.

Knuckles, Chapter 1: Meet the Chaotix

Knuckles sat the entrance to the Chaos Chamber. It was a big part of a schedule his father had cemented into his brain during training. There were no games. Not in training. So there would be no games in the schedule. Okay, so there were some games sometimes, but that isn't the point.

Knuckles had a very serious upbringing. He was part of a tradition that went back many generations. It was important that he do his job correctly. But he didn't know that after the encounter he had with Sonic the Hedgehog a week ago, things would start to change on the island.

A few moments later, a white bird flew over head. Knuckles knew him by Catweazle.

"What's the word, bird?" Knuckles asked.

"I saw a crocodile and some other animals heading this way. Thought I should tell you."

Knuckles was confused. A crocodile on the Floating Island? It had to be the first time this happened.

"Thanks for telling me. I'll check it out."

Knuckles stood up and headed through the forest. There were a lot of plants covering the ground, and even more trees blocking out the sun. It was almost like someone had accidentally planted too many things in the same place.

Luckily, when Knuckles ran into the crocodile, he was in a clearing. The croc was using a Walkman. Now, that was something you didn't see on the Floating Island. A species that's never set foot on the Floating Island using technology. To Knuckles' knowledge, there was no technology on the island, so either the crocodile came from below, or he found the tech somewhere on the island.

"Hey, you! Where are you from?" Knuckles called out. The crocodile continued on it's way, appearing to not have heard Knuckles.

I guess I'll do this the old fashioned way. Knuckles thought as he ran up behind the croc and tackled him.

"HEY! Not cool, man!" The crocodile said, seeming to notice that there was an echidna on his back. He kicked Knuckles off using his legs, and got up quickly. When Knuckles got up, the croc was ready with his music paused (but turned up) with his headphones aiming at Knuckles. When it looked like the Guardian was going to attack, he unpaused the music and sent Knuckles flying farther than before. Taking advantage of his gliding ability, Knuckles flew back towards his opponent and hit him.

"OW! That hurt, bro!" The croc exclaimed, grabbing the area Knuckles had hit him.

Knuckles walked over him and stuck out his hand. "Look, we can tango again, or we can talk. Your choice."

Not wanting to get hit again, the croc took Knuckles' hand. "I'm sorry. Guy like me gets mad when someone ruins his tunes time."

Knuckles let out a little laugh. "My name's Knuckles, and I'm the guardian of this floating island. What's your name?"

"My name's Vector. I came on this island with a couple other people, but we split off."

Knuckles took a minute to think. Those must be the other guys Catweazle was talking about.

"I think we should go find those guys. As Guardian, I need to know what they're all about."

Vector scratched his head. "Wait, Guardian? I didn't know there was a Guardian of the Floating Island."

Knuckles nodded his head. "Well, there is. My dad wouldn't tell me the story of how the tradition started, but something happened in the past, and now my family protects the island and manages it's relations with governments like the Kindgom of Acorn and all the Overlander governments."

            -----------------------------------------------------------------------
The next part of the chapter and a few edits in the first part of Chapter 1 and the prologue were added on May 7, 2013.

After walking through more of the forest, Knuckles and his new friend found two more people: an armadillo and a squirrel. Luckily, it didn't look like they'd cause the same trouble Vector did.

"Hey! You two!" Knuckles called out, gaining their attention. "Come over here!"

The pair exchanged looks, then walked over to Knuckles.

"What's the deal, teal?" The armadillo asked.

"First, I'm red, thank you very much!" Knuckles said, not picking up on the armadillo's humor. "Second, I'm the Guardian of this island, Knuckles. As part of my responsibilities, I need to know your name and the reason why you're here."

The armadillo nodded. "Well, my name is Mighty, and I came on this island after....a long trip. During the trip, I met Ray here, and we came to the island."

Knuckles pondered his answer. He wanted to question why Mighty had paused mid sentence, but that would have to wait. He needed to meet the other newcomers, and from recent experiences (namely his first encounter with Sonic and Eggman), Knuckles was very suspicious of newcomers.

"Alright, I believe you. Come, I have some other people to greet, and we might as well all know each other. Speaking of which, Vector, you need to talk with these guys."

Later, just when it seemed they'd never find the last people, Knuckles saw something that the others couldn't (thanks to his Guardian training). It was a chameleon, and he was watching Knuckles and his group from a tree.

"I see you, chameleon." Knuckles said.

The chameleon, knowing that he might as well save some time, turned visible and landed on the ground.

"How did you know I was there?"

"Echidna trade secret. I'm the Guardian of this island. I need to know your name and purpose."

The chameleon took a while to mentally examine what Knuckles had said so he could come up with the right answer, then nodded his head.

"I'm Espio. I'm from Rainbow Valley. I've been living on the island for a while, but I decided to go exploring just today."

Catweazle must've seen him outside of Rainbow Valley and thought he was a newcomer. Knuckles decided.

"He's telling the truth, Knux." Vector said. "He wasn't with the other guys I saw get on the island."

"But I was!" A random voice called out. At first, nobody could see the source, but then they heard buzzing, and they all saw a bee.

"Well I'll be--a bee!" Knuckles exclaimed, surprised that a bee could talk. He didn't know that long ago, everybody would've thought you were crazy if you told them echidnas could talk.

"No no, you silly echidna, I'M a bee! Charmy Bee's the name!"

Espio appeared surprised. "Wait, Charmy Bee? You mean...the prince of the Honey Bee Hive Colony?"

"Oh, don't remind me." Charmy said, seeming to lose energy. "I just left there to come here. I don't like being a prince....and now that I think about it, how'd you know I'm a prince?!"

Espio was taken aback by the question. "I-I've t-traveled the world." Espio barely managed to say, making it clear he was hiding something.

Knuckles frowned. Clearly, he's hiding something. Hopefully, it isn't a problem.

After a few moments of silence, Knuckles remembered what he was going to say.

"Alright, well, you guys can all get settled anywhere on the island. I would advise not going into the desert, because many a islander have gone there and never come back. If you need my help, just come back here and yell. My home isn't too far from here, so I'll hear you."

As everyone walked away that day, it never crossed their minds that they would soon become the team that protected Angel Island. They also never saw the surprises in store for them in their near future.

Knuckles, Chapter 2: Sonic in a mirror

There is a character named Robotnik in this chapter (link here: http://archiesonic.wikia.com/wiki/Dr._Ivo_Robotnik). In the universe Knuckles takes place in, he is different from Eggman (link here: http://archiesonic.wikia.com/wiki/Dr._Eggman), but they are the same person (you'll get it if you read Eggman's bio). Also, the Metal Sonic in this chapter looks like http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...ic_v2.0_SU.jpg then turns into http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__...MetalSonic.jpg (also, that picture is part of the following story).

The day started out normal enough. Knuckles rose with the Sun, and went through his schedule as usual. However, during a block of the schedule Knuckles liked to call "Rest", he noticed a lot of people arriving on the Floating Island. When Sonic and Tails arrived, he followed them. They led him to an amusement park.

Knuckles was greatly annoyed by this, and immediately knew something was up.

I smell a rat. Knuckles said as he walked in.

"Wow, everyone and their mother is here!" Sonic exclaimed, surprised at the amount of people.

"Where's Knuckles? He might have a thing or two to say about this." Tails said, being more thoughtful than Sonic (as usual).

"You're right, kid. I do." Knuckles said, making his presence known.

"Yo, Rad Red!" Sonic said, more excited to see Knuckles than Knuckles was to see Sonic. "This is a pretty cool joint you've got set up here!"

Knuckles grunted. "Hardly! Whoever set this up didn't do it with my permission, and I plan to have a talk with him!"

              Meanwhile, in Haven...

Locke observed his son through one of the multiple cameras on the island.

"You might not know who it is, but I think I do. The only person who would do this is....Renfield T. Rodent. Nasty fellow."

Sabre, grandfather of Knuckles, entered the room Locke was in.
"Locke, do I hear you talking to yourself?

Locke sighed. "I keep forgetting he can't hear me, father."

Sabre laughed. "Don't worry. I had the same habit while watching you."

              Back in the amusement park...

Sonic looked around the park, then decided on an attraction called the Hall of Mirrors.

"Come on, Rad Red, let's head into the trippy mirror place!" Sonic said, dashing off.

Knuckles and Tails exchanged looks, then went after Sonic.

Inside the Hall of Mirrors, Sonic and Tails seemed impressed with the abundance of mirrors. However, Knuckles grew more suspicious.

"I don't know guys, I feel like this all one big-"

Knuckles was caught off by a flash of light. When it went away, he saw Sonic in his reflection. Then he looked at another mirror, and it was Tails. In each mirror, there was a different person, and they'd all been in the amusement park.

"HAHA! It worked!" A voice said, seeming to come out of nowhere.

              Knuckles growled. "Robotnik."

"You shall refer to be as Robotnik, echidna! As you've noticed, I've trapped everyone at the amusement park in the mirrors, and all your natural abilites have been taken away!"

Knuckles saw that what Robotnik had said was true. His dreadlocks were shorter (which meant he couldn't glide), and his spike knuckles were gone.

"You made one mistake, and that's leaving me here, alone and angry!"

The doctor laughed. "I don't think so! With Sonic gone and you left practically helpless, I can take over the world! Nothing can stop me, and you'll be left to suffer as the witness to all of it! Reinfield will personally thank you shortly before your roboticization! HAHAHAHA!"

Meanwhile, in Robotnik and Reinfield T. Rodent's secret base in the amusement park....

The rat and the evil robot master laughed as they watched Knuckles walk away in frustration.

"Thank you, my friend! You've given me the success I've longed for!" Robotnik said, patting Reinfield on the back.

Reinfield snicked. "Yes, yes, but you must also credit yourself, since you're the scientist here! But shouldn't we get rid of the echidna?"

Robotnik shook his head. "He shouldn't be much of a threat. If he does somehow become one, I have a trick up my sleeve....and his name is Metal Sonic!"

Meanwhile, a little outside the amusment park and out of sight of Robotnik's cameras....

Knuckles sat on a rock, and he definitely was not happy. "WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?" Knuckles yelled, very frustrated.

"Well, for one, calm down!" A voice said.

Knuckles looked around, and saw Charmy flying around.

"And two, call on us!" Mighty said, walking in with Ray, Espio, and Vector.

Knuckles felt better, but not enough pull him out of his bad mood. "So what's our gameplan, geniuses?"

"Well, in emergencies, use this!" Espio said, holding out a yellow gem.

"A Power Gem!" Vector said, recognizing the gem. "When you're in a tough spot, it'll boost you up and improve your crazy dance moves!"

The others exchanged looks, then stayed silent until Ray spoke up.

"I think we can all agree we won't use it to dance."

When Knuckles and his friends entered the amusement park, Metal Sonic started firing lasers from above. They all scattered and took different positions. Espio quickly climbed a nearby tent and faced Metal Sonic.

              "Over here, not-so True Blue!"

Metal Sonic turned around and flew towards Espio, intending to ram him. "Foolish organism."

A few seconds before Metal Sonic made contact with the tent, Espio turned invisible and hopped off. "Missed me, metal moron!"

As Metal recovered from the crash, he looked around.

"Weapon's lock lost...new target acquired." Metal Sonic said as he spotted Vector.

Vector threw Metal Sonic at Mighty, who hit Metal towards Ray, who used his big tail to try to hit him at the Hall of Mirrors.

After he landed, Metal Sonic transformed into Titan Metal Sonic, so he was red, bigger, and a lot stronger.

"Look out, guys!" Charmy said. "We've got a growing problem on our hands!"

              "Growing-and glowing!"
"Look at th' size of him!"
              "We're in deep, deep trouble!"

Knuckles, staying calm due to his training, took the Power Gem and turned as giant as Titan Metal Sonic.

"You know what they say....the bigger they are, the harder I hit!"

Near the entrance of the amusement park, Robotnik and Reinfield were escaping.

"I don't want to be around when the Hall of Mirrors break!" Robotnik said as he ran (surprisingly fast for his weight).

Just when Reinfield was about to escape, a cage fell on him. "Help!" The rat called out to the doctor, who kept running.

Meanwhile, Knuckles hit Titan Metal Sonic into the Hall of Mirrors, which caused another flash of light. When it went away, everyone was free, and Metal Sonic was gone.

Knuckles looked around, and saw Renfield T. Rodent trapped. "Ha! Here's the phony behind it!" The rat groaned, knowing the Guardian probably had a routine planned for him.

Sonic and Tails went over to Knuckles and thanked him.

"You really saved our goose there, Rad Red!" Sonic said, glad he wasn't in a mirror anymore.

"I feel like someone is going to make a song about mirrors just to annoy me." Tails said as a random note, feeling annoyed about mirrors.

"You know, Knux, you and your pals should form a team!"

Knuckles and his friends exchanged looks and grinned.

"Yeah, we'll be the Freedom Fighters of the Floating Island!" Knuckles said.

"Nah, we'll be the Chaotix!" Vector said, winning the opinion of the others.

And so ends the first mission of the Chaotix! Tommorow, we begin a very big part of Knuckles, which will kick off a set of events which will definitely affect the future (also expect a new VS). As you might know, this is an adaption of Archie's Sonic comics, so I already have a pre-made storyline which I modify to my tastes, but I do sometimes quote things the characters said in the comics. While writing this, I listened to Mirrors by Justin Timberlake (the hidden link song), because this chapter is all about mirrors! But as I said in the end of prologue, if you have any questions, PM me! Also, I would like some more VS requests! I don't just want to write about ol' Rad Red! I'm doing the one I've gotten so far tommorow, so if you want to see some characters you don't exactly know about (but I do, of course) duke it out, PM me! Here are some characters that I can think of off the top of my head:

              Shadow, from Sonic the Hedgehog
              Tails, from Sonic the Hedgehog
              Silver, from Sonic the Hedgehog
              Megaman, from Megaman
              Mario, from Super Mario Bros
              Goku, from Dragon Ball Z
Starkiller, from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
              Batman, from Batman: Arkham City
Steve, from Minecraft (It sounds weird, but it'll make sense)

And as promised, here's the bios of the members of the Chaotix. (Keep in mind that Knuckles is an adaptation, so all the things listed in the bios might not have happened the same way or have different names)

Knuckles, Chapter 3: Enerjak and the Dark Legion Part 1

Knuckles ran at his top speed. He had to find his friends. They would probably figure out what to do.

Soon, he spotted Vector, Mighty, and Charmy in a clearing.

"Knuckles!! Long time no see, my man!" Vector said, noticing the Guardian approaching them. "Why're you so cranked?!?!"

"GET DOWN!" Knuckles said, diving as he reached his friends. When they noticed the explosives in the air coming towards them, they dived away as well, and nobody was hurt.

When they recovered, Mighty remembered that Ray had been with Knuckles.

                "Say, Knuckles, where's Ray?"
"Some jerk that calls himself Archimedes kidnapped him!"

                Earlier that day....

During the "Emerald Watch" block of Knuckles' schedule, Ray entered the Chaos Chamber.

"What's up, Ray?" Knuckles asked, curious as to why Ray wasn't with Mighty.

"I came to see the Chaos Emerald. Mighty didn't come because he said he saw it already."

Knuckles nodded. What the squirrel said was true.

Soon, laughter was heard and smoke filled the room. If Knuckles had paid attention, he would've heard Ray try to say something, but get cut off. When the smoke cleared, Knuckles didn't see Ray in the chamber.

                "What the...?"

The laughter went away, and someone started to speak.

"Hello, echidna! My name is Archimedes. I've come to....test you, so to speak. My actions may seem like I intend to harm you, but I assure you I'm a friend. However, you may want to get to your other friends soon. They're sure to have an explosive experience in their general area!"

Knuckles started running as soon as Archimedes finished his sentence. As Knuckles ran to find the Chaotix, Espio, who was invisible and hiding in a tree, spotted the Guardian and followed him.

Soon, grenades started exploding around Knuckles as he ran. It wasn't enough to affect the environment because they exploded mid air, but it could still harm Knuckles. Espio made sure he was extra careful to not get hit by them either.

Soon, Knuckles spotted Vector, Mighty, and Charmy in a clearing.

"Some jerk that calls himself Archimedes kidnapped him!" Knuckles replied as they ran to avoid more explosives. "I need you guys to help me find him!"

As they ran, Vector's foot got caught in a rope, and the rope dragged him down a hole.

"VECTOR!" Knuckles said, noticing that Vector had fallen.

However, Mighty knew they had to move on. "We'll come back for him. Right now, we gotta move before-!"

The next set of explosives were luckily a safe distance away, but they sent Knuckles and Mighty flying. It didn't do anything to Charmy, who hadn't noticed Vector's plight.

When Knuckles and Mighty recovered, Espio and Charmy were next to them.

"Don't worry, the explosives stopped coming." Espio said.

"I'll go back for Vector." Charmy said. The other three were inclined to stop him, but they didn't bother and decided to keep going.

"Stop there!" A robot said, going in front of the trio.

Mighty, who was a bit riled up about Archimedes kidnapping Ray, started throwing punches. "You ain't that tough!"

Knuckles and Espio exchanged looks, then headed off. The fight ended up being a tie, with both fighters tired.
"You're...pretty good....after all..." Mighty said, falling unconscious.

As the fight ended, the remaining two of the Chaotix not MIA walked into some ruins. In the distance, Knuckles saw a very familiar mountain. He was too in shock to notice Espio had been taken away by another robot.

"Espio, this is-!" Knuckles turned around and noticed Espio wasn't there. "Verrrry funny, Esp. Just ditch me. That's cool."

"I guess it's all up to me now."
                End of Part 1

                Later today:
VS returns with Eggman and Ganondorf! This time around, the arena is a big battlefield, and both contestants plan on showing no mercy in the ultimate showdown between magic and technology!

                Tommorow:
Enerjak and the Dark Legion Part 2: We put a face to a name in the case of Archimedes, and a certain arrogant echidna scientist turned god breaks his metaphorically rusty cage.

Eggman VS Ganondorf: The Ultimate Battle between magic and technology! Part 1

Unlike last time, the contestants will not have a specific "setup" due to the sheer amount of power and troops at their disposal. For the same reason, the area has no set measurements, except for the "sky" (100 km above the ground) being the limit.

Shadow entered the bunker next to the battlefield and sat in the chair in front of the controls that over looked where Ganondorf and Eggman would battle. Shadow was very aware that the battle might destroy the bunker and kill him. But that was fine. He wasn't afraid of death. And we wouldn't flee in fear back to his friends so he could be called chicken by Sonic.

With a push of a button, the opponents were teleported in. The Egg Carrier entered the sky, and Eggman flew down in his Egg-O-Matic, a flying vehicle that he could use as a cockpit for bigger vehicles he had built.

Ganondorf came with less of a show. He just stood a little under a mile away from Eggman. If it weren't for the cameras in the bunker, Shadow would've had a hard time seeing them, because his bunker was in the middle.

When Shadow saw that both of them were ready, he adjusted the knob for the volume of his speaker, then spoke one word:

                  "Begin."

Barely a second after the word was uttered, robots and monsters started arriving on their respective sides of the battlefield. It seemed Eggman was starting out easy with the Motobugs from original Badniks, while Ganondorf had spawned in his most frightening troops: The ReDeads.

Shadow grunted, and pressed a few buttons which brought the armies and their commanders closer together.

"Ganondorf has made his first mistake."

When the Motobugs and the ReDeads were close enough to attack each other, the Motobugs annihilated them. The robot bugs sped around the ReDeads, who were trying to scream in order to stop them. However, they were very unfamiliar with the robots. As the bugs went around, they cut at the zombies' legs to make them fall, and then they would split them apart by going through them.

Dr Eggman laughed. "Before this battle, I modified these Motobugs to be 110% then the ones destroyed by my nemesis, Sonic!"

Ganondorf chuckled. "Whatever mechanisms you send at me, I will always find a monster that can crush it."

Suddenly, a portal appeared above the Motobugs. At first, they continued to go around in circles like they did with the ReDeads, but eventually they stopped. Unluckily, they were all under the small portal. Within a few seconds, Wallmasters came down on the bugs and crushed them, taking their remains back into the portal. When all the Motobugs were crushed, Ganondorf closed the portal.

"Did I mention I played around with the Chaos Energy from your world before this battle?" Ganondorf asked, smirking.

Back in the bunker, Shadow was surprised. "I did see him practicing once or twice, but I didn't know he was this good. Must be because of the Triforce of Power...."

Eggman frowned, but he was far from giving up. "Time to call in the Egg series."

This caught Shadow off guard, and he quickly adjusted the battlefield just before Eggman spawned in his big army. Ganondorf chuckled, and brought in his Bulblins and Stalfos. This is where the major carnage started.

Back in Headquarters (above the 100km ceiling), Jacob Kal and Megman observe the battle.

"That hedgehog sure has fast reflexes.." Megaman said, watching the camera that monitored the bunker.

Jacob was more focused on the actual battle. "You know, why do we even have a bunker down there?"

Megaman was distracted as he switched from the bunker cam to the battle cam for a moment, but then snapped out of it.

"Well, until recently, we didn't have this 'attic' area. But now that we do, we can't transfer the controls to up here."

By now, the Egg Pawns had eliminated the Stalfos (due to them sticking out like thumbs in the crowds of the Bulblins), but it seemed like Eggman's forces were being overtaken by all the Bulblins who weren't in the front lines.

"Despite how the battle looks now, I believe the doctor will win. I mean, he has the advantage of technology that Ganondorf doesn't understand." Jacob said, not thinking very open minded-ly.

Megman shook his head. "While that is true, you have to remember that Ganondorf has the Triforce of Power, and he has some mastery over the Chaos Energy."
                  End of Part 1

                  Tommorow:
Enerjak and the Dark Legion Part 2: We put a face to a name in the case of Archimedes, and a certain arrogant echidna scientist turned god breaks his metaphorically rusty cage.

Eggman VS Ganondorf Part 2: After the big fight between the Bulblins and the Egg Pawns, the opponents start pulling out their strongest soldiers.

                    Ganondorf VS Eggman: Part 2

For future reference, here is the bio of the character named Shard: http://archiesonic.wikia.com/wiki/Shard_the_Metal_Sonic

Continuing 30 minutes after Part 1.....

The last Bulblin finished off the last Egg Pawn, then fell over in exhaustion and died from blood loss.

"See, I only need to damage your creatures once, and they'll eventually die. You need metal to cut through my robot's armor." Eggman said, breaking the silence.

                    Ganondorf grunted, but said nothing.

"Well, I assume you agree that we need to finish this up?"

                    Ganondorf nodded.

"Alright then. Egg Carrier: Bring in...Shard."

For a few moments, nothing happened, but soon, a black robot came down.

"Yo, doc! Need my help kicking this weirdo's butt?" Shard said, purposely insulting Ganondorf to make him mad.

Ganondorf growled, unwillingly taking the bait. A portal appeared in the sky, and Phantom Ganondorf came out of it.

"Finally! I shall get to redeem myself after my defeat at the hands of the Hero of Time!"

Shard broke the silence after Phantom's statement. "Ha! Link? It would take me 5 seconds to eliminate him, max!"

Phantom grew frustrated. "We'll see if you can back up your mockery with action!" Phantom said, throwing an energy ball at Shard.

From Phantom's perspective, it looked like it had hit Shard and all that was left was a cloud of dust in his shape. But in reality, Shard had used his super speed to get behind Phantom just before the energy had made contact.

"Nice try, copy-and-paste-of-an-ugly-dude!" Shard said, firing his arm cannon and successfully eliminating Phantom Ganondorf.

The real Ganondorf became even more frustrated.
"Let's make a deal. If I destroy you, I win. But if you somehow manage to kill me, then your master wins."

Shard and Eggman exchanged looks, then Shard nodded.

"Well, he isn't exactly my master anymore, but sure, your deal sounds fair."

Immediately, Ganondorf tried to punch Shard, but the robot easily evaded it and fired his canon. However, since the cannon's power hadn't regenerated fully, it didn't finish the Gerudo King off. But even Ganondorf would admit that it did do a good number on him.

Ganondorf kicked Shard away, then tapped into the Triforce of Power.

"You'll regret making me angry!" Ganondorf said as he transformed. When he was done, he had become Ganon (from OoT).

"Wow, look who's a big boy now!" Shard said, failing to be afraid.

Ending 1: Don't schedule your next doctor's appointment! (Eggman wins)

Ending 2: Power times Power (Ganondorf wins)

Ending Three: Technology and magic eliminated by their product (Both contestants lose)

                    Later today (possibly tommorow):
Enerjak and the Dark Legion Part 2: We put a face to a name in the case of Archimedes, and a certain arrogant echidna scientist turned god breaks his metaphorically rusty cage.

I love that you come up with scenarios for all three endings. I look forward to more, and more from Knuckles' story.

Knuckles, Chapter 3: Enerjak and the Dark Legion Part 2...and Part 3

                        Part 2

                        Newcomers this part:
                        Archimedes: http://archiesonic.wikia.com/wiki/Archimedes
                        Enerjak: http://archiesonic.wikia.com/wiki/Enerjak

Knuckles studied the familiar mountain before him. He knew this place. His father had told him about. This was where the scientist, Dimitri, had been unintentionally buried after the fire ants had eaten away at the foundations of the tower. Oddly enough, when it collapsed, the top of the mountain looked like a skull. It was known as Mount Fate.

                        (Here's a picture reference: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__...Mount_Fate.jpg)

"And in it's shadow, they built the Grand Conservatory. Hey, maybe I should look there!"

The Grand Conservatory was were the Echidnas stored their technology after the ban of technology following the death of Dimitri. Knuckles believed it was were Archimedes would've brought his friends. It would also explain the grenades and robots (from Part 1).

At first, Knuckles thought it would be hard to find it, but a giant ramp leading underground turned out pretty easy to find.

As Knuckles went down the ramp, there was a small shaking near Mount Fate. At this point, it was so small that Knuckles couldn't feel it.

Later, Knuckles was deep underground. He walked into a dark room, thinking there was nothing, but soon various fire and laser traps activated.

"Whoa!" Knuckles exclaimed as he jumped and dodged. "My ancestor's didn't leave much to chance!"

Eventually, Knuckles jumped on one of the floating fire traps, allowing the laser traps target him, then hopped off before the lasers could get him, making the lasers destroy the other trap, disabling all the other traps in a big explosion.

"Oooh....that's gotta hurt!" Knuckles said as he got up.

Literally ten seconds later, Knuckles walked into another room, and heard a sound. He turned around to see a large boulder coming at him. Knuckles ran away from it, but panicked when he saw he had a long hallway to run. Let's see if that stamina training paid off! Knuckles thought as he ran.

Above ground, Mount Fate shook. It was clear something was happening inside the mountain. Then, the top exploded.

As soon as the top of Mount Fate exploded, Knuckles reached the end of the hallway, dolphin diving past the doorway, which blocked the boulder.

"Whew! That rollin' rock almost gathered some echidna colored moss!"

Knuckles got up and scanned the room. At the end, there was a clear exit, but there were other doors in the room.

"Huh. I wonder what's behind...this one!" Knuckles said as he opened the door closest to him. Inside, there was a blaster.

"It looks like the ones upstairs, but smaller." Knuckles said as he examined the gun. He walked back into the main room, and went to the entrance.

"Good workmanship!" Knuckles said as he touched the door to estimate it's strength. "Could never knock it down with my fists! Fortunately, I came prepared!"

At the same time Knuckles blasted open the door, an echidna in armor appeared in the crater from the explosion of the top of Mount Fate. He was stuck, so it caused another explosion when it got out. The armor the echidna was reminiscent of Ancient Egypt, but he wouldn't know that. He was ancient, but not that ancient.

Inside the Grand Conservatory, Knuckles entered a new room when someone started to speak.

"Which is more important? Your friends...or the threat to the Floating Island? Had you fought together, instead of separately, you wouldn't be here! Still, intelligence aside, your performance has been...adequate. Turning the conservatory's defenses against themselves was elegant in its simplicity...although a trifle melodramtic! Still, you correctly reasoned that the key to the present lies in your past. That the path best-guarded holds both the most peril...and the brightest promise!"

Now, Knuckles had entered a room with a large computer, a table, his friends, food, and a robot. On the monitor of the computer, Archimedes was being broadcoasted from the camera aimed at the table that was recording him.

"You're all right!?" Knuckles said, deciding to address his friends, who seemed unharmed and happily eating the food given.

"Our host has been very gracious!"
"Yeah. And he fed us too!"
"Pull up a chair..there's spareribs to spare!"

At that moment, the echidna in armor flew inside the Grand Conservatory. It was clear he was going after Knuckles. But for what reason?

"I don't want lunch Vector, I want answers!" Knuckles said, intentionally shifting the focus to Archimedes.

"So you're the big Mahmba-Jahmba...Archimedes!" Knuckles said, unconsciously walking next to the camera.

                        "Look, he's trying to think!"

Knuckles twitched. "I've BEEN thinking, wise guy! And my train of thought led me here! You obviously took advantage of my ancestor's technology, hot wired these robots, and made them do your dirty work! What I don't understand is how you escaped so quickly in the Chaos Chamber!"

Archimedes grinned, and he vanished in a cloud of smoke.

"What the..." Espio said, amazed at Achimedes ability.

Archimedes appeared behind Knuckles and laughed.

"If you thought that was impressive, check this out!" Knuckles instinctively jumped away, and Archimedes blew fire.

"Think you're pretty hot stuff, huh?"

"As a matter of fact...I do! My people have pulled echidna fat out of the fire more times than I can count, even before the time of Edmund!"

"The fire-ant is correct...his kind once thwarted my will!"

Everybody turned to face the newcomer. It was the echidna trapped beneath Mount Fate.

"But that was long, long ago. I have grown...learned...evolved during my imprisonment beneath Mount Fate! The echidna scientist Dimitri is no more! Today...ENERJAK REIGNS SUPREME!"

                        ------------------------------------------------------------

                        Part 3

                        "Today...ENERJAK REIGNS SUPREME!"

Archimedes took a few steps back in fear.

"Enerjak? The l-legend of great evil? STAY BACK, EVERYONE! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DEALING WITH!"

Knuckles grunted and stepped forward. "A fogey, that's what! Dimitri was killed ages ago when he was buried alive under Mount Fate!"

Enerjak chuckled. "You forget that ten shattered Chaos Emeralds empower me! I am immortal and invincible!"

"We'll see about that!" Knuckles said, charging. Enerjak simply chuckled and used Chaos Control to stop Knuckles in his tracks.

                        "Fool."

Archimedes whispered something in Mighty's ear, and Mighty nodded. Archimedes teleported them behind Enerjak, and Mighty threw an uppercut, sending Enerjak back to the surface.

"Take a break on the ground floor!"

When Knuckles came out of Chaos Control, everybody just stood around, not knowing what to do. Archimedes facepalmed and sighed.

"Just hold on to Mighty, you dolts." When everyone was linked up, Archimedes teleported them up to the surface, a few yards away from Enerjak.

"Alright, he hasn't noticed us! Here's the plan!"

The Chaotix huddled up while Archimedes told them the plan. A short distance away, Enerjak held his head.

"Such strength...gave me a headache. But no matter."

Enerjak turned toward the group and used Chaos Control. "Gotcha!"

What he didn't know was that some of them weren't there because of the plan, which goes like this: Archimedes and Mighty go to the Grand Conservatory to assemble an "escape pod" that can control Enerjak's power (they would use the blueprint from the Chaos Syphon to help them). While this is happening, the others fight Enerjak, with Espio, Ray, and Charmy use their respective abilities to keep Enerjak guessing. When the pod is ready, Vector and Mighty team up and get Enerjak inside of the pod. After that, the Chaotix will send Enerjak to space.

Espio walked carefully behind Enerjak while invisible. If he made too much noise, Enerjak would find him, and the plan would fail. When Espio was in the right position, he pushed Enerjak forward, releasing the others. Enerjak turned around and tried to hit Espio, but he had ducked and gone invisible. Before Enerjak could find Knuckles, he felt a sting. Then another sting. And another sting. Little did he know, it was Charmy in action. Who knew that a marathon of bee stings would hurt a god so much.

In the conservatory, Mighty and Archimedes were in the middle of building the pod.

"You really don't know how to do this, do you?" Archimedes said as he watched Mighty try to attach the engines that would launch the pod to space.

                        "I really don't."

Archimedes sighed. "Thank Aurora I'm a genius."

Back outside, Enerjak managed to get Charmy to stop stinging him.

"Sweet Aurora, bees are still annoying, even in god form!"

Above Enerjak, Ray was using his tail to get Knuckles in the correct position.

"Ready to drop?" Knuckles asked Ray as they flew over Enerjak.

"You ask me." Ray said, dropping Knuckles intentionally. Normally, Knuckles would go back up there and have a word with Ray, but he had to focus on the plan. Knuckles bounced on Enerjak's head, distracting him long enough for Knuckles to get behind the invisible Espio. When Enerjak tried to rush Knuckles, Espio turned visible and punched Enerjak in the stomach. He almost stopped them with Chaos Control, but Vector came in from the left and blasted him with the music.

"Preposterous! Music so loud it's a weapon!"

Enerjak took a few steps back, but he found himself trapped. This was because Mighty had coordinated with Vector and placed the pod there. Enerjak tried to get out, but the pod absorbed his power. The Chaotix stood around and laughed for a few minutes, but then became serious again.

"Care to the honors, Mighty?" Knuckles asked.

Mighty nodded and lift the pod from the bottom. When Archimedes was ready with the remote that would activate the engines, Mighty threw it up in the air, and the engines turned on as soon as it looked like it was going to come back down. If humans had constructed the engines, the plan might've not worked, but this is the advanced technology of the ancient echidnas, who were more advanced then humans like you or I.

"You know, Archy, you ain't that bad!"

                          The Edge (Or "I see")

So as you guys might know from reading other threads, I'm delaying Knuckles: Chapter 4 till after I finish school. But since I feel bad for not posting here and I don't want to forget this thread, I decided to write this short story for you guys. Well, you could call it a short story, but it's really a message from me to you.

This is the moment. The moment I could sink or swim. But it this case, it might be more like fall or make it across. When I look down, I see the things I don't experience if I fall. As I look over the edge, I see the missed opportunities, the great things that may or may not happen, and I see the beauty of Earth. You think this is an easy decision? Incorrect.

When I look across, I see the future, but it ain't pretty. I see me at my worst. I see my friends die in front of me. I see my family pass away as I sit beside all of their hospital bed. Behind it all, I see the deterioration of my body, my life, and worst of all, my mind. Why should I live? Why do I need to experience pain? Why do I need to experience sadness? What's even the point of experiencing all this crap?

I see the answer when I look when I look at a wooden plank which almost bridges the gap between this building and the next. I get it now. I know why this life is valuable. You might not understand how I see it, so let me explain it in a way everyone here can understand.

Let's face it. Life is like an interactive decision video game. When you start, you have nothing. You don't know anything. You just know that you're there, and you're in for a ride.

As you go along, you realize your strengths and your weaknesses. You realize the things you like, and the things you don't like. People might tell you what to do and what not to do, and it's up to you to whether or not to follow those instructions.

Then comes that first moment when you're stuck. You have no idea what to do, and you just sit there pouting.

But after a while, you see the way. It might have it's fair share of pros and cons, more cons then pros, or a truckload of pros. Whatever the case, you take the appropriate action and be done with it. Some of it might come back to haunt you, but you make it past.

As you go on, you find that these parts become easier and easier to pass because of the experience you have. Your likes and dislikes change a bit, and some of your weaknesses become your strengths.

At the end, you either liked it, or you didn't like it, but ultimately, you should be glad you gave it a chance.

Now, I could have just said "Life has it's ups and downs, but it's good in the end!", but that would mean nothing to you, and you know it.

So, back to me. After seeing all three paths, I go straight, walking on the wooden plank that could either make me fall, or allow me to get to the next building. Since I am living while writing, you can safely guess I haven't made it to the end yet. While the wind might try to push me over, I will stay balanced till I reach the end, and you should too. To me, I don't what happens to me. However it ends, I'm glad I got to experience all the good things, learn from all the bad things, and meet the wonderful people who are going through life the same as I am, even though most of them are at different stages.

But if there's one thing I want you to take away from this, it's what I'm about to tell you. I don't care if you're an atheist, Catholic, Republican, Democratic, wealthy, or poor, but if you don't thank someone or something for you even existing, then you better start, because everyday, someone out there, possibly your age, isn't as privileged as you anymore.

Alright, so after that, you might be confused on the metaphor this whole thing is based on. The building I start on represents that moment where you think about killing yourself. It might be serious depression or a bad day, but let's face it: you've probably considered it at one point in time. When I'm looking down, it represents the moment when you think about the pros of not doing it. In contrast, when I'm looking across, it's the moment when you think about the cons of not doing it.

Then, the wooden plank. It's like the plank the pirates tell you to walk, but on the top of a building. This is when you snap out of it and decide to go on with life. As I said, as you walk to the edge, the wind might push you over, but you maintain balance.

Now, the end of the plank has two different meanings. To start, let's say the plank is too far away from the building to make the jump. You try to make it and fall, or you simply just walk off, but your life ends on a bad note. You might be a little unappreciative of the gift of life near the end, but like I said, you really should be thankful.

The other possible meaning for this is when the plank is close enough to make the jump, or it leads you safely to the other building. In the first case, you have your pros and your cons, but in the end, you make the jump, and you are content. You're just a little roughed up. In the second case, you might get a little cut up, but in the end, you made it through, and the scabs heal or whatever.

Now, you might be thinking, "Z, you're like, the youngest on this site. Why are you trying to give us advice?"

Well, this message was inspired by the death of my great grandpa in 2010 and the recent death of my former Spanish teacher. I don't remember much about these people, but I remember what people said about them after their death and how their death affected them.

My math teacher, who was my former Spanish teacher's best friend, talked to my class about him. He ended the talk with something he had told me ever since I walked into his class three years ago: "Thank God that you're alive". In this post, I was basically broadening that statement, with little adjustments here and there to make it more fitting for the crowd.

With that, I conclude this post. If you want me to post more of this stuff, you might have to wait a long time. But if you want me to post original short stories every so often, I will do that, but they'll be spaced out by a week or two, because I'll be most likely doing homework or writing Knuckles/VS/Maxwell's story.

                          Have a good day/evening.

                            Update

Sorry for not posting, I've just been all over the place lately. I'm trying to figure out the next few chapters right now, so you'll most likely get the next chapters near the end of this week. Sorry for the delay, but better late than never.

Knuckles, Chapter 4: Enerjak and the Dark Legion (Finale)

Okay, so because of the delay on this chapter, I decided to release the rest of Enerjak and the Dark Legion as one, big gigantic chapter. A lot of stuff happens in this chapter, so every once in a while you might see a line of -- and a summary of what's happened in the story so far. Enjoy!

It has been two months since the defeat of Enerjak. Recently (as in yesterday), Sonic and the Freedom Fighters defeated Dr. Ivo Robotnik, but at a price. Before he bit the dust, Robotnik fired the Ultimate Annihilator (like the one in my Sonic fanfic, but a bit different) at Knothole Village, residence of the Freeedom Fighters, putting it in a different zone (similar to the ones from the classic Sonic games) that was three hours ahead, making the only entrance to Knothole the Great Oak Slide, an entrance that the Freedom Fighters used back when Knothole was simply an underground base.

The Ultimate Annihilator has affected the Multiverse as well. Ever since it was fired, the borders of zones have been weakening, becoming parts of Mobius. This is also happening on the Floating Island, which sets off the events of this chapter.....

                              Newcomers!:
Julie-Su as the Dark Legionnaire gone rogue

Lara-Le as the mother of Knuckles

Kragok as the Grandmaster of the Dark Legion

Remington as the head of the Echidna Security Team (E.S.T.)

Sally as the leader of the Freedom Fighters

Rotor as the mechanical genius of the Freedom Fighters

Antoine as the cowardly general's son

And finally, Bunnie as the friendly "rabbot"

(At this time in the story, Bunnie and Antoine are not married yet.)

Knuckles sat on the top of the highest mountain on the Floating Island, admiring the view. This had always been a place for him to relax, and now he used it to get away from Vector and Charmy when they started bugging him.

"Now this is the life!" Knuckles said as he ate his lunch. "No more mad doctors, crazy ancestors, or tricky ant puzzles! The island is back to normal!"

Suddenly, Archimedes appeared beside Knuckles. "I wouldn't say that!"

Knuckles took a few seconds to find Archimedes, still not used to his relative small size and tendency to teleport near him.

"What? Everything is normal, Archy (pronounced Ar-key). Don't worry your ant brain about Vector blasting his music too loud."

Archimedes frowned. "I'm serious, Knuckles. Something happened while you were helping the Freedom Fighters yesterday."

Now Archy had Knuckles' attention. "I'm all ears." Knuckles said, turning towards the fire ant.

Archy took a deep breath, then began. "While you were away, something that looked like a comet landed in the desert. I went to check it out, and it was the pod we sent Enerjak in. He landed in the middle of a crowd of some tough customers I haven't seen in a long time called the Dark Legion. Then, near the ruins in the forest, Echidnaopolis appeared."

Knuckles started to get very mad. "Archy, if this is some messed up joke, you better disappear again before I squash you."

"Have I ever joked around with you?" Archimedes asked Knuckles. Knuckles stumbled for words, but gave up.

"Alright, first, we need to find Espio. We'll have him spy on the Legion."

Okay, first line is here. Usually, the segments won't be so short, but I have to stop working for now to do other stuff. I'll add more throughout the day/week.
                              -----------------------------------------------------------
The story so far: A day after the defeat of Dr. Ivo Robotnik, Knuckles is relaxing when Archimedes warn of great danger on the Floating Island, and they send Espio to investigate.

Espio and Archimedes appeared behind a rock in the desert, 30 yards away from the camp Espio was to investigate.

"You do not want to get caught, Espio." Archimedes warned the chameleon. "Stay camouflaged as long as you can." Espio nodded, and Archimedes vanished in a cloud of smoke. Soon after, Espio heard some talking, indicating that the people in the camp had seen it. Deciding it was a good time to move out, Espio turned invisible and entered the camp.

The camp wasn't anything special, but it's residents were. They wore black robes, and it was difficult to tell their species. However, they were close to the height of Knuckles.....

Espio's suspicions were confirmed when he saw one with it's hood off. They were echidnas, alright. But these echidna were...strange. The one without the hood had a robotic right eye and right arm.

"If anyone needs me, tell them I am conversing with the Great Dimitri." The hoodless one said to a nearby echidna. They nodded, and the hoodless one entered the tent behind him.

Espio got past the solider and entered the tent. As soon as Espio entered the tent, he wanted out. In the tent, Enerjak sat in a chair.

He's back! Espio thought, trying not to panic. Enerjak stood up when the hoodless one entered the room.

"Why do you bother me now, Grandmaster Kragok?" Enerjak asked.

"G-Great Dimitri, I have just come to inform you that we should be able to launch our assault on Echidnaopolis tommorow." Kragok replied, clearly indicating that Kragok slightly feared Enerjak.

He takes orders from Enerjak, but the Legion takes orders from him...interesting.

Enerjak chuckled. "Good. And please, call me Lord Enerjak."

Espio exited the tent at the same time as Kragok, taking extra care not to alert the Grandmaster that he was there.

I needed to back to Knuckles and inform him of this! We'll need the Freedom Fighters if we're to stop the Dark Legion AND Enerjak!

                              Later.....

The whole Chaotix were in the Chaos Chamber, waiting for the Freedom Fighters.

"For the fastest hedgehog in the world, he's pretty slow!" Charmy said impatiently.

Ray shook his head. "Charmy, he can't fly like us and Tails!"

Speaking of Tails, he was the first to enter the room, followed by Sonic, Sally, Rotor, Antoine, and Bunnie. Everyone on both teams greeted each other, then got settled on opposite sides of the room.

"Sal, did you bring the plan?" Knuckles asked.

"Sure did, Guardian. Rotor, give me the backpack." Sally said almost demandingly. Rotor rook the backpack off his back and gave it to Sally. She searched the backpack, then pulled out a map and a document detailing the plan.

"Okay, this plan lasts over the course of today, and the day of assault, which is tomorrow. Today, Knuckles, Archimedes, Sonic, Tails, and Rotor check out Echidnaopolis, and warn them of the attack. The rest of us will stand watch near the desert and capture any scouts the Legion might send ahead. Tomorrow, everyone guards Echidnaopolis and fends off the attack. Then, using the Chaos Syphon Suit (which Rotor designed when we had possession of a Chaos Emerald), one of us will absorb Enerjak's energy, activating the suit's combat functions, allowing us to kick the Legion out of the city. Any questions?"

Everyone except Sally exchanged looks, then shook their heads.

                              "Alright. Then move out!"

I'm putting a line here to make it....climatic, I guess? I don't really know the word for it. Also, I'll try to put emphasis on the characters you guys aren't so familiar with, because otherwise they feel meaningless to me. And plus, they'll be showing up later.
                              ---------------------------------------------------
The story so far: The day after the defeat of Ivo Robotnik, Knuckles learns of a city that appeared out of nowhere and a threat to the Floating Island. He sends Espio to spy on the enemy, and the chameleon learns that Enerjak has returned, and he plans to destroy the city. The Chaotix and the Freedom Fighters assemble, learn the plan, then roll out.

As Rotor, Tails, Sonic, Knuckles, and Archimedes walked to Echidnaopolis, they started guessing what they would find there.

"I bet you twenty rings we'll see some tall buildings, and maybe someone who knows Knuckles!" Sonic said, taking point as usual.

"I agree with you on the buildings, Sonic, but there is a very low probability that we'll find someone who knows Knuckles." Rotor said, at the rear of the line. "But it is possible Knuckles' parents might be there."

Knuckles shook his head. "I wouldn't count on it, Rotor. I saw my dad walk into a wall of fire, and from what he told me about my mother, she's probably dead." Archimedes twitched when he heard this. The lad still didn't know that the "wall of fire" was the secret entrance to Haven. But as for Knuckles' mother, Archimedes wasn't so sure.

Suddenly, a bush shook nearby. Tails, without thinking, went off to check it out. There was the sound of something electric, then silence. Only Knuckles and Rotor noticed. Rotor whispered something in Knuckles' ear, and the guardian nodded. He crept up to the bush slowly, then punched it, hoping to get results. It did. The attacker, surprised that Knuckles hadn't entered the bush, went flying. The attacker was another one of the Legionnaires.

"Are you a scout?" Knuckles asked as the attacker recovered.

"Originally! Now, I'm just here for you!" The attacked said, jumping at Knuckles. Knuckles ducked, which forced the attacker to hit a tree.

"Pin him down!" Rotor said, rushing over to the tree. The attacker tried to recover, but to no avail. Rotor and a recently recovered Tails wouldn't let the attacker budge. Knuckles walked over, and removed the hood. It was a pink echidna, but contrary to what Rotor said, it was a girl.

"Him? Seriously?" The pink echidna asked, making eye contact with Rotor. "Guess again!"

"Alright, Miss Scout." Knuckles said, stepping closer to their temporary prisoner. "What's your name, and the reason why you're here!"

The echidna rolled her eyes, but decided to answer. "My name is Julie-Su, and I was supposed to ditch my Legion outfit and learn about the city."

"And what will you do when we let you go?"

"You kidding me? The Legion is a horrible place. You have to wear this weird dark outfit all the time, and all the commanding officers hate you! No way I'm going back. I'm helping you guys take them down."

Everyone exchanged looks, then let Julie Su go. She tore off her Legion clothing (which means she has the outfit she has from her wiki page), and they continued on. Sonic, who had gone ahead during the mini fight, took a few minutes to find out why they had a new member.

"Oh, I get it! We found Knux a girlfriend! Cool! Maybe you guys could go on a double date with Sally and me." Sonic said, annoying both Knuckles and Julie-Su.

"Actually, Sonic, it's 'Sally and I', not 'me'." Rotor said, purposely trying to ruin Sonic's joke.

Sonic pretended like he didn't hear Rotor's remark, then went back to the front of the line.

Soon enough, the group reached Echidnaopolis. Like any group of heroes entering a new city, everyone looked up at the tall buildings first, then saw the citizens second. And as the name implied, Echidnaopolis was a city of echidnas. However, a few of them weren't happy with the group.

"Stop right there!" A voice said, coming from the group's right. They turned to see who it was, and saw a group of echidnas that seemed to be the police force. The one who had yelled at them approached first.

"I'm Remington, head of the E.S.T.! And I'm arresting all of you for harboring a Dark Legionnaire!" The leader said, slightly adjusting his hat.

"WHAT!?! I ditched the Legion!" Julie-Su said, outraged. "Just because I still have my cybernetic parts, doesn't mean I still work for them!"

"Stand down, Remington." Someone said from behind them, making the whole group turn around. Only Knuckles and Remington recognized this person. It was Knuckles' mother.

"Mom?" Knuckles asked, pushing everyone aside to get to his mother.

                              "Yes, Knuckles. It's me."

Remington stood beside Knuckles. "Lady Lara-Le? I have to arrest them. They're harboring a threat to our society."

Lara-Le frowned. "You would really arrest a Guardian, Remington?"

Remington blinked twice, then looked at Knuckles and saw the truth. There it was. The mark of the Guardian (this is the crescent moon type mark Knuckles has on his chest).

"I'm sorry, Guardian. I didn't recognize you." Remington apologized, bowing.

"Hey, it's alright." Knuckles said, patting Remington on the back. Knuckles started to talk to his mom, but Sonic quickly ran up to them.

"Look, Knux, I know you want to talk to your mom and get some answers, but we gotta complete the first part of the plan."

Remington gave Sonic a confused look, indicating him to say what he needed to say.

"Alright, basically, the Dark Legion is attacking this city tommorow, and you need to be ready."

Alright, I think that's enough. This part is kind of boring, I know, but next time, we'll be picking up the pace as we switch our POV to the other team, who make some wild decisions. At the end of that section, we'll go back to Echidnaopolis, where Knuckles and his mom have some bonding time while Sonic, Tails, Rotor, and Julie-Su have some fun while preparing the city's defenses. Catch you guys later!
