Midna:
ok i thought i would have a try at writing my own zelda fanfic, im not sure how good it is or even if i will finsh it but ill and see what people think.
CHAPTER ONE
The forest was dark, as it always was in the night time “why do you always come here” groaned a loud voice “i swear i don’t get why you even have a house” saria turned to see link standing behind her, she smiled as her child hood friend approached her “i don’t know why i come here” she said sweetly “i just feel like this place is important” link sighed, this was the same explanation he had been given several times “i will admit this place is beautiful” said link moving closer to saria, they were in the sacred forest meadow within the lost woods. “i always thought it was to” she said
“i can think of something more beautiful though” said link
“really what”
“you” said link moving his face closer to her
“link, I’ve told you this so many times i can’t”
Link groaned “why not”
“i can’t tell you why” saria looked out into the distance. It was almost like she knew something he didn’t. “saria, please, i know you like me and im leaving tomorrow” said link
“you could always not leave”
“you know the tradition, i have to leave and i can’t return for seven years, just like the hero, good thing we don’t age”
Saira sighed “fine but im coming with you”
“but girls are meant to enter the temple, just like the forest sage did”
“yeah, i kidna did it early, on the great deku trees orders, and i somehow gained the wisdom of the sage of the forest”
“im not surprised, according to the deku tree, you look like her and that is why you were named after her”
“why were you named after the hero than?”
“i don’t know, the deku tree would never tell me”
“he always keeps secrets like that”
“tell me about it, cant he be straight forward for once”
“the deku, straight forward” saria laughed
“yeah, that’s true” link joined in laughing
“so im going with you”
“do i have a choice”
“not really”
“then you’re coming, as long as the deku tree agrees to it”
“Good thing i already ask”
“i can never win can i”
“Not really”
“Fine let’s go home, don’t forget to pack” they started walking back towards the village in the kokiri forest. They said good night before heading into their houses. Tomorrow they would leave the forest and explore the world but the first place they had to go to the castle, to see the princess.
CHAPTER TWO
The next day saria and link met at the exit to hyrule field, both only taking a backpack with them. it was just past dawn, link had always played on leaving early, because he didn’t want a big send off by all the kokiri. They went through, exit crossing the bridge in the lost woods that lead to hyrule field. Neither of them had ever been outside the forest –in fact it was usually forbidden for girls to leave so when they saw how huge and beautiful it was, they were lost for words. There shock was short lived though as they saw an old man who had fallen on the ground link rushed up to the man only to find that he was being robbed “listen here old man” said the brute that was robbing the old man “give me what i want or you’re going to be dead you hear”
“i don’t have any money” said the old man pleadingly “please spare me” link and saria exchanged a look, link grabbed out his sword, saria a dagger “hey you” they said to the brute “leave the old man alone”
The brute looked at them and laughed “children” he said “you expect to fight me” link charged at the brute, link almost hit him but the brute blocked at the last second, then as the brute got a closer look at link, his expression turned from rage to shock, the brute walked away from link, link almost falling face first onto the dirt, “we will meet again” said the brute “in time” the brute laughed and seemed to disappear into thin air, his laugh chilled link to his core and wondered why his laugh had seemed so familiar, saria ran up to the old man and helped him up “are you ok sir” she said to him
“thanks to you kids” said the old man “my name is rauru”
“im saria” said saria “and my friend here is link”
“nice to meet you” said rauru “wait did you say his name is link”
“yeah, that’s my name” said link “why”
“a wise old owl once told me that if i ever met a young boy named link, with blonde hair and blue eyes i should give this to him” the old man reached into his pocket and brought out a shining green stone “this is what that brute wanted, his name is ganondorf”
“why does that name sound so familer” said link, speaking his thoughts out loud
“who knows” said saria
“take the stone, it is known as the spiritual stone of the forest” said rauru
“that is the lost kokiri emerald” exclaimed saria, link walked up and took the stone from rauru, he examined it for a second and said “why are you giving me this” but rauru was already gone “come on” said link “let’s get to hyrule castle town” link was still confused about the events that had just passed but he knew one thing for sure, everyone seemed to know things he didn’t.
CHAPTER THREE
As link and saria enter hyrule castle town, once again they were in shock. Hyrule castle town was much busier then the forest was and every time they tried to ask where the castle was the people would just go “children” in an annoyed tone and walked off. It started to get dark and they had nowhere to sleep when they noticed an old temple. They walked over to it and entered. They were amazed by its beauty. Link walked over to a large pedestal. There were three holes in it; the holes looked like they could fit three large gems in it. “so you have decied to spend the night here” came a voice from behind them, link drew his sword and turned around, it was just rauru “nice to see you again, old man” said link, rauru laughed as he walked from the entrance towards link and saria
“you were looking for the castle today, right?” said rauru
“yes, we were” said saria
“well i will take you there in the morning until then” rauru grabbed a couple of blankets out of the bag he had been carrying, he passed one to both saria and link “good-night” all three of them found a comfortable place on the floor and feel asleep.
In links dream he was drifting up in the clouds and for a while, everything was peaceful. Then the clouds darkened. “no” screamed a girls voice “leave me be” link looked down to see a beautiful girl running from the man who had attacked rauru, ganondorf, “you can’t escape me” said ganondorf as he finally caught up to her “your power will be mine” his laugh was wicked as he grabbed her hand. Both of their hands seemed to glow so brightly link couldn’t see for a while and when he could the girl had gone pale, she was dead, and ganondorf was smiling evilly “finally the power of the triforce is mine” he exclaimed as he whole world burned down in flames.
Link almost jumped up to the roof his dream had scared him so badly “come on boy” said rauru “time to pack up” link quickly packed up his stuff. They left and finally, thanks to rauru, they reached the castle.
CHAPTER FOUR
The outside of the castle was more tame then the city, the only people around were the guards “thanks for taking us here rau-“ link started, but once again the old man had disappeared “why the hell does he always do that”
“Who knows” said saria “let’s keep moving” so link and saria walked towards the gate but unfortunately the guard stoped them “what business do you have at the castle”
“We are people of the kokiri” said link “we have come as part of our people’s tradition”
“i have heard of this tradition and seen many kokiri pass through here because of it” said the guard “but the girl isn’t part of the tradition, as far as i know only men go on this quest”
“the great deku tree has allowed me to join my friend on this quest” said saria “now stand aside” the guard did as he was told and opened the gate “thank you” said both link and saria. They followed the path in front of them. The guards on the path let them through without question and soon they were at the castle’s doors. A butler escorted them to the throne room. Before them stood a beautiful maiden, who must of been the princess. She somehow seemed very familiar to link. “Welcome children of the forest” her voice was graceful, and sounded as if she had done this a million times before “my name is Zelda, i am the princess of hyrule”
“it is wonderful to finally meet you, princess” said saira. Link however was lost for words, until he saw a huge owl fly in. The owl caught links gaze and the words, show her the stone, whispered through his mind, the words weren’t his own though, they sounded almost like rauru. Link approached the princess, and showed her the stone, the spiritual stone of the forest. The princess gasped and looked over at saria “you are—“ saria nodded before Zelda could finish, she walked over to her and grabbed her hands “you have done well to watch over him” the princess talk as if she and saria knew each other, but that couldn’t be possible saria had never left the forest. The princess let go of saria’s hands and looked at both link and saria “you do not have to call me princess you know, you may call me Zelda, as my friends and family do”
“Zelda what is going on” said link “all this stuff is too confusing”
“in time you will understand” she said smiling “until then take the spiritual stone of the forest and head to the mountain”
Link and saria nodded “goodbye princess” they both said before they left, so now the princess knows everything is well. link was annoyed that everyone knew things he didn’t but what could he do but trust Zelda and saria. This was his destiny, link could feel it.
