  • Heck Yeah Horror Games

Alright so in the spirit of October, I'm pulling an Elliot and posting something that'll scare you, scar you, and stomp on your heart! : D

Being as I am, I have a knack for horror, and I'm positive other people on this site are too. I saw an RPG Horror Game post going around tumblr, so I bookmarked it and I've been playing the games along with my friends Matt and Tiffany. Matt usually laughs at me over Skype when I scream but that's beside the point.

Here is the link to the post, I reblogged it myself so that the link that I bookmarked doesn't break in case the blog I bookmarked it from deletes the post, changes their url, or otherwise.

Now with all of the games, there are some warnings that go with them. Personally I beat The Crooked Man, The Witch's House, and OFF, and can confirm that TCM and TWH both have blood.

    The Crooked Man

    The Witch's House

    Paranoiac

Heart Breaking Plot Twists, brought to you by: Mad Father (trigger list)

    Mermaid Swamp

    Misao

As with OFF, there were no jump scares, but there were some... Odd enemies you had to fight. Tiffany said that she could beat them all, even the final boss, on Auto, though I warn you. When you fight The Judge, DO NOT USE AUTO. You'll kill him and glitch the game. As for the other games, I have yet to play them very far into the game. I started Paranoiac, which is made by the same person who made The Crooked Man, which has way more jump scares, blood, and gore. It startled me.

Each of the games should have trigger warnings to an extent, and as I play them I'll add to this post/thread.

    Notes about downloading them:

You do not have to get mediafire or iVivid, if you close their window/tab it'll cancel the download. When you open the game's zipped folder after you download it, check the Read Me for further instructions, usually on the game and how to play and start it. Usually I skip that part and try to open the game, fail, and allow it to "extract all files." Some of them require you to download RPGMaker, links and specifics can be found in the ReadMe file.

Have fun, and stay safe this October everyone. uwu

I, too, love horror games and love watching people get scared when playing them.
Personally I played The Witch's House a couple of months ago, and I think it was pretty cool. I've also played one called Mad Father, had a bunch of fun with that one as well, but there is blood and death and some jump scares in that one as well.
I've also watched The Crooked Man and Paranoiac be played and enjoyed them both. Pretty much I like most horror games, so I recommend you play them!

I beat Paranoiac and added in the triggers. Matt laughed at me because I screamed. A lot.

Personally I have never really got into horror games, the only one I have really played is Slender, and that one wasn't really frightening to me.
I might try some of these out, they look interesting.

Do not play Mad Father because it will make you sad.
          Added the triggers.

I also had a chance to play "Hello Hell...o?" And it's really just an escape game of sorts to see if you can get all the endings. PERSONALLY I don't like it, but another user might be interested.

There's a horror game my brother plays that I love watching. It's called Silent Hill Downpour. He only ever plays it when I'm watching because it freaks him out too much. I'd play it myself, but I don't have the reflexes to fight the enemies. But it is wicked cool, and downright scary. I have a tendency to jump at shadows after he's played that for a while.

Here's the Silent Hill wiki article on the game: http://silenthill.wikia.com/wiki/Silent_Hill:_Downpour
And here's the first episode of a playthrough of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0CzZbXjlVk

When I get on a computor with decent Internet, I'll try that RPG, ammy.

Remember you've gotta download them, so make sure it's one you can download games on uwu
Also to uninstall the games, just delete all folders that say the game's name.

EDIT: Beat Misao, got the bad ending, added warnings.

I have played and conquered The Groundskeeper wich is a awsome lil indie game title.
Im not sure if Alan Wake counts, but that game can scare the bajeezus outa me, the horor of it going into slow motion and me thinking: Oh $#!7 theres a taken near me... Ive just never been able to replicate it.
                And the storyline is AWSOME.
                American nightmare used more...
I guess you could say shock horror?
None of the enemys in AN realy scared me that much, I was to overpowered.
Ive also played some amnesia, but I quickly learned that I never wanted to touch that game again....
                Crap. I lost my signature!
