About an hour ago I decided to post something about Pokemon as a status. This is what it turned into.
So as I was scrolling around failbook for the past few months I've noticed something.
A lot of Pokemon Posts. And I thought about it a lot.
Cried a lot.
Cursed a lot.
Sighed a lot.
Cried some more.
Laughed more than anything.
But honestly, I don't think we should have a favorite Pokemon. Maybe most prefered, because honestly, without all the "sucky" Pokemon everybody seems to hate, the ones we do think are really awesome wouldn't seem as awesome. For example, people really get fed up with the frequency of Zubat in caves, and in turn people start to hate them. The hate for Zubat makes Pokemon people seem to really like, such as Arceus, seem so much cooler.
Some people can't stand a certain type due to Weaknesses, Strengths, or bad experiences with Gym Leaders or a member of the Elite Four. Pokemon Types are subject to hate and praise just as much as the actual Pokemon, but to be completley honest with you, I know people who can fight over types for an hour. It's actually pretty fun to watch.
In the end though, it seems to me like they wasted time in their Pokemon carreers complaining about types when they could've been catchin' 'em all. Becoming the very best like no one ever was.
And isn't that what our true job as Pokemon Trainers and Coordinators is? To Be Mama and Papa to our Pokemon, fill up the Pokedex, in the process making it to the Pokemon League and wowing all the Pokemon Judges?
For anyboyd that's played Pokemon and beat a game, we started with a weak Pokemon, built a team with our favorites, spent months training up to beat the Elite Four, caught a few and raun into a few legendary Pokemon, and toppled evil organizations. Not to mention the fact we filled a Pokedex for our Friendemie's Grandpa.
That is what being a true Pokemon Master is about. Leaving home at a young age to help save the world, become a Master, and do a favor for a scientist.
