Alrighty, it's Monday, so it's time for this game to start! By the time I post this, I'll have sent all of you the Role PMs, so please, read those before you look at this thread. Side note: Please pay special attention to Rule #8 and Rule #16.
(This intro is so non-cannon it HURTS, but this would probably take place near the end of Season 4 of Doctor Who, and near the end of Season 1 in Supernatural.)
On December 25th, at 3:55pm UTC, the phone in the TARDIS rang. The Doctor, who had decided his blue outfit was most representative of the holiday spirit, got up from the chair at the main console and answered the phone. Nobody rang unless it was important.
“Doctor?” A familiar voice asked.
“Oh, ‘ello, Rose.” The Doctor said, smiling. “Merry Christmas.”
“Oh, uh, Merry Christmas to you too. Listen, umm..something’s come up.”
The Doctor stopped smiling. He did not like that tone in Rose’s voice.
“Two people investigating Mum’s murder are here. They...they want to see you.”
“I'll be rightthere."
The Doctor hung up, then dashed over to his consoles. He put in the coordinates for Rose’s apartment, then leaned on the console as the TARDIS did it’s thing. It’s all your fault she died, a voice in his head told him.
When the TARDIS landed, the Doctor stood up and walked out the door. As per usual for this time of the year, it was snowing, and about a foot of snow covered the ground. The Doctor closed the door of the TARDIS, then made his way towards Rose’ apartment.
When he got to the door, the Doctor could hear multiple voices in the apartment. Most of them he could recognize. Rose, Martha, Donna, Mickey, and Jack were all in there. They had probably come over to keep Rose company, since it would’ve been her first Christmas alone. But there were two voices in there that the Doctor didn’t recognize. He knocked on the door, and waited for someone to open.
“Oh, you’re here now.” Captain Jack Harkness said, his tone less pleasant than usual. Get inside, you need to talk to these guys.”
The Doctor followed Jack to the living room. There, Martha, Donna, and Rose sat on the couch, while two people the Doctor had never met stood in front of them.
“Hey, Doctor’s here.” Jack said, getting the attention of everyone in the room.
“This is the guy everyone’s been talking about, huh?” The shorter of the two strangers asked. “Well, he certainly dresses for the part. Heading to a cocktail party after this, pal? I’ll join you.”
The taller one shot the short one a glare, then looked back to the Doctor. “Forgive my brother. I’m Sam Winchester, and my brother is Dean. Are you the Doctor?
“Yes, that’d be me.” The Doctor replied.
“Well, we’ve been told you might know the same...stuff, we do.”
This statement made the Doctor curious. “What do you mean by, the same stuff?”
The brothers exchanged glances, then Dean made eye contact with the Doctor.
“Well, we deal with stuff like the murder of Rose’s mother. Strange killings, weird disappearances, anomalies, you name it. We’re...well, hunters of supernatural evil. We hear you’re not too different.”
If it had been anybody else, the Doctor would’ve written them off. He’d call them ‘crazy’, or ‘insane’. But he saw something in their eyes. It was a fierce determination for one purpose, and only purpose only. Justice.
“Yeah, I suppose you could say I do...similar, things. Do you know what happened to Rose’s mother?” The Doctor asked, now completely serious.
“Well, if we don’t know, we have a pretty good idea.” Dean replied.
“We’ve seen these signs before, in a different place.” Sam continued. “We’re dealing with a shapeshifter.”
“Shapeshifter?” The Doctor asked, going through all the aliens that could be considered shapeshifters in his mind.
Dean chuckled. “Looks like you’re in a different field than we are. Yeah, shapeshifter. The one we encountered before would turn into someone the victim knows, then beat them to death while they were tied up in a chair. The killer of Rose's mother just happens to followa very similar pattern."
“But we think there’s something else going on here, too.” Sam said. “See, there are hunters, like us, who live in this area. Normally, we would just leave it to them. However, our dad sent us here. When he sends us places, there’s usually...stuff, that’s going on.”
“The fact that this shapeshifter does the same exact thing as the one we encountered give us even more reason to believe that there’s something else going on here.” Dean added.
“So, do you know where to find it?” Jack asked. “Sounds like we should go after this thing and kill it as soon as possible.”
The Doctor looked at Jack. He knew the death of Rose’s mother had changed Jack. He was more restless, and had expressed getting revenge on the killer earlier. The Doctor was going to keep an eye on him.
“Well, if this one is following the same pattern as the the last one, then it should be in the nearby sewer system.” Sam replied, also becoming wary of Jack.
“Well...what are we waiting for?”
Everyone looked at Rose. She had stood up, and was crossing her arms.
“Rose, I don’t think-”
“No, Doctor. I’m coming.” Rose said, her eyes becoming teary. “It was my mum that thing killed, so I need to make sure that thing dies.”
The Doctor exchanged glances with Dean and Sam, who could offer him no help.
"Well then...allons-y!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Later, everyone regrouped where they had entered the sewer.
"Anyone find anything?" Dean asked, looking around. Everyone replied with a 'no', and Dean cursed.
"Well, looks like it doesn't live in the sewers, so we'll just have to wait until the next one happens." Dean said, disappointed.
"Or maybe, it's time to play your trump card, Doctor." Jack said, turning towards the Doctor. "Go in the TARDIS, and check out what happened."
"Jack, you know-"
"What's a TARDIS?" Sam asked, interrupting the argument that had barely begun.
"Well...you hunt supernatural beings, correct?" The Doctor asked. "Well, I travel through time and space, and the TARDIS is my time machine."
Sam and Dean exchanged glances, and both gave the Doctor a quizzical look.
"Don't believe me, huh? Well, you're surrounded by witnesses, so I'd think twice before you say I'm crazy. Well, I guess I'm not exactly sane, either..."
"I-I'll take your word for it, I guess." Sam said, not sure what to think. "But, if you can travel in time, why haven't you gone back to when Rose's mom was murderded and change it?"
"There are select points in time that are 'fixed'. If you change those points in time, then the future changes, and that's something I prefer to avoid, because things get rather wacky when the future changes."
Sam nodded, and exchanged glances with Dean again. Dean shrugged.
Suddenly, they heard footsteps approaching. Dean and Sam drew their guns and flashlights, and stood in between the group and the direction the sound was coming from. Jack, Donna, and Martha remembered they had been given guns by Dean, and drew theirs at this time.
"Don't shoot!" A familiar voice to Sam and Dean said. Sam pointed his gun down, while Dean kept his ready for good measure. Soon, Dean's flashlight revealed who the voice had come from: their father.
"Dad!" Sam said, going forward and hugging his father. Dean put his gun away, and walked behind Sam so he could hug his father after Sam did.
"I'm assuming this is your dad." Mickey said, making eye contact with Sam, who nodded.
"Yeah, I'm John Winchester." John replied, stepping past Dean and Sam to stand before the rest of the group.
"These are people who have a connection to a woman the shapeshifter murdered." Sam explained. "Rose was her daughter."
"Well, we need to get them out here." John said, turning to his boys. "There's more than one shapeshifter, and they're extremely dangerous, so it'd be better if-"
"I'm staying down here, no matter what." Rose said, determined to find the shape shifters.
"Rose, I think we need to listen to him." Martha said, trying to comfort the girl. "These things, whatever they are, sound pretty dangerous. I'll stay down here for you."
"Martha, I'll take your place. At least I can't die-"
"Guys, bad news."
Everyone looked at Mickey, who looked horrified.
"I just checked the way we came in, it's sealed. We can't get out."
Almost simultaneously, Dean and Jack began talking about how they could get it open, and went in the direction of the exit. Sam followed, making sure Dean didn't hurt himself.
Shortly, the trio came back. Dean and Jack were both bruised and disheartened.
"Doctor, maybe you could try your screwdriver?" Rose asked. The Doctor shook his head, knowing his Sonic won't do them any good. Plus, he was certain he'd forgotten it on the surface.
"Well, looks like we're stuck here until we can find the shapeshifters." Dean said, letting on a fake smile. "Make sure not to go off alone, because you'll just make it easy for them to take you. And trust Sam and I, you don't want to be taken by them, unless you're really into being tied up."
Though nobody said anything, everyone was suspicious that some people might’ve already been taken by the shapeshifters. But little did they know, their premonitions were right. In their midsts, two shapeshifters were impersonating their friends. It was only a matter of finding out who they were...
Mostly the same rules as the last Werewolf:
1. All day periods will be 7 days. An extension will be considered on a case by case basis, but likely will not be granted.
2. All night periods will be 2 days with no exceptions.
3. If I am unable to make a post immediately, the deadlines will still have to be followed.
4. You may Vote: No Lynch, but it will be in place of a normal vote.
5. You must Unvote before casting a new vote, or it will not be counted.
6. You must bold all of your votes/unvotes, or they will not be counted.
7. A majority vote will result in a lynch. If no majority is reached by the end of the day, the person with the most votes on them will be lynched. In the case of a tie, there will be a coin flip to decide who is lynched.
8. Important: Role claiming is limited in this game. Because I did happen to use some names in the Role PMs, you CANNOT claim to be a specific role or character. When it comes to claiming yourself as something, you can only say 'Townie'. Even then, this is only allowed once per day.
9. Do not edit posts. If you are going to double post merge, please start your second post with EBWODP which means "Edit By Way Of Double Post"
10. No night posting at all.
11. Keep spam to a minimum (all post-death posts are considered spam).
12. No posting information after your death.
13. You cannot use outside information within the game (example: who is online at a given time)
14. You must post at least once each day period, preferably much more. There will be some leniency but you must give an explicit reason as to why you will be unable to participate in a given day.
15. Any of these rules being broken will result in either a replacement or a mod-kill, depending on the severity.
16. Have fun! Please. I put a lot of work into this.
Unlike J, I don't have a clever one-line rhyme to put here. Sorry.
