  • Oniana, A Different Tabletop RPG

What’s up losers it’s AJ, Ammy, Alex, you all know me. And, if you don’t, I guess you do now. Inspired by Batpool’s idea to make tabletop RPG, I’ve come up with one of my own based on a world I created for a book with the same name, Oniana. I’m gonna pull up a dice rolling site and bookmark it so, as the GM, I can do GM things like roll dice. I’m going to keep everybody’s character pages in a Google Spreadsheet (an excel document, basically) to keep track of Health, Stats, and Inventory. The document will be free to view but not to edit, so that nobody can cheat, and you know that nothing fishy is going on via a bribe to the GM.

    Rules

    Background Knowledge

    Dice Rolling System

    Attack and Weapons System

    Roleplay Style

    Characters

    Application

    Good luck and happy role-playing!

    Character List:
    Knight Bruce Ballen (DekuNut)
    Commonfolk Miner Wallace Boh'rugh (Batpool)

Eh, what the heck, it doesn't exactly sound like my brand of fantasy, but then again neither does Skyward Sword and I loved that game.

      Start: Nodin
      Name: Wallace Boh'rugh/Will (<- His nickname/fake name)
      Bond: Molt
      Age: 21
      Base Health: 10
      Base Attack: 10
      Base Defense: 5
      Base Weight: 0
      Base Speed: 0
      Inventory:

      Brass Knuckles
      __________
      __________
      __________
      __________
      __________
      __________
      __________
      Class: Commonfolk Miner

Appearance: Tall, mean looking and hecka'bulky, seeing him on the street you would likely mistake him for a mercenary. His hair is always trimmed, and he keeps a short beard (His hair color is blonde). He usually goes shirtless (He has a very nice six pack) and wears commoner pants and regular brown leather boots.

Molt, is something of a special dragon. His skin is normally dark, storm cloud grey, with red fiery eyes that glow. His skin color begins to change slightly, when he is in the vicinity of valuable ores and stones though (Diamond, gold, silver, ruby, etc), based on the color of the gem/ore.

Personality: Brash, young, adventurous. He has a legendary short fuse and a lesser known caring side. His interest's consist mainly of the following in the following order: Liquor, gold, shiny things, adventure.

Molt tags along with him because he enjoys Wills company, and the shiny tings he brings. In fact, the shiny rocks are some of Molts favorite foods! Although, Molt is more logical and sensible then Will is most of the time, but since Molt can't speak most of his thoughts never see the light of day.

      Backstory:
Where he showed up at, and where his parents are is forever a mystery, but what we do know, is that he spent most of his life from the time he was about four, a homeless orphan. When he was five, rather then wandering out in the woods region, he wandered into the mines. The other homeless people had all shaken their head at him, no one had tried to stop him but they all thought he was going to die. The boy had wanted a dragon more then anything else in his life, and well, yaknow what they say: "Where there's a will there's a way."
Will ventured down into the mines, and ventured, and ventured, and ventured, until he was just completely lost. He sat down, cried, whimpered, screamed and generally did everything in his power to be found. Finally after several long hours of wandering he saw a small light. As he ran towards it with glee and joy, he began to see it was not the light of human contact as he'd hoped. No, it was in fact a pit of molten lava, which were not all that uncommon in the mines, but this pit was different. It was almost like a lake, a big, giant, underground lava lake. No one could ever really explain how it happened, nor why it happened, but the boy claimed that a a dragon crawled out of the lava and onto the banks of the underground banks. It's obvious he did indeed bond with a dragon down there, but no one is quite sure wether his story is true or not. However, is what people are sure of, is that Wallace was forced into slavery and banished to work in the mines for years and years to pay off a debt, because Molt had apparently eaten a merchants precious jewl.

I'll actually admit that's a hella creative way for a character to meet their Bond. All I need to know is where you want your character to start (DN's is starting in Tatum, if that's where you'd like to be.) I added your character to the excel document as well. Either of you can start roleplaying now! (Well, Batpool I need your location before anything, but if you put it at the top of your post instead of messaging me I'd be down with that.)
EDIT: Batpool I know you have nothing in your inventory but if you'd like to add a pick to it so you at least have a weapon I'll edit that in.

Done. Wasn't sure if I should put the damage the wep deals, so I guess I'll let you do that so I don't make it toOP or anything. Not sure how you're setting up the starter dungeons.

((So... RP is a go then?))

Bruce decided to head North to look for adventure.

((Guess so. God I haven't actually RP'ed in years. Btw, such plot, much RP, so Tolkien))

Will slid down the muddy slope, desperately clutching for a handhold. "MOLT!" He yelled, "I told you this wasn't a good idea!" But Molt knew it wasn't a good idea. Oh he had tried to warn that stupid human alright, just cause you hear that there exists a "Swamp Gem" from the creepy old man in the back of the tavern, does not mean it exists. Nor does it mean you should trek down the bloody mountain to the marshes to go find it. But no, that stupid human boy just had to go looking for it, why if it were up to Molt they would just go buy more ruby's. *SPLAT* Wallace reached the bottom of the slope and landed in the muddy marshes. He stood up, spewing mud all over the place whilst wiping the gooey substance out of his eyes. It all looked quite comical to Molt, after all, if the boy wouldn't refuse to ride him, none of this would have happened. "Zire above! This has to be the most disgusting thing I have ever done. Molt remind me again why I couldn't have just rode you down?" Molt rolled his eyes.

((This should've been mentioned earlier but I'll accept post styles in both DN and Batpool's forms! Just be super clear on attack style and the like. I'm going to edit the original post a little bit and add "Roleplay Style" to be more clear, now that I think of it. Continue as you were, though.))

Bruce: You leave Tatum and find yourself in the northern kingdom of Nodin. In the distance you see farmers tending crops, and the outskirts of the city.

Will: You are now caked in mud, though your Bond remains clean.

((Not sure how you want us to do dungeon finding or anything so I'll just continue to practice a bit))

Will could practically feel Molts sneer on the back of his neck. "Cut that out would you?" He complained, as he hit a deep spot in the mud and fell in waist deep. "This, sucks." He pulled himself out of the swamp by a tree branch, then promptly slipped, fell, and got caked in more mud. "WOULD YOU LOOK AT THIS! WHAT A FINE PREDICAMENT! I MEAN, A LITTLE BIT OF MUD HERE AND THERE NEVER HURT ANYONE! But, hoho, nope! I'VE GOT MUD IN MY EYES, MUD IN MY EARS, MUD IN MY NETHER REGIONS, HECK I BET I GOT MUD UP MY--" Molt knew that the stupid human would ramble on, probably for hours on end. Oh look at that, there he went punching a tree, and then he was swearing. Oh sure, Molt could do something to distract him, I mean, he could go fly over to that building looking thing over there, but to be honest, Molt found the humans wrath... Amusing.

                    Bruce At The Farms

This wasn't Bruce's first time walking through the farms. He looked over at Viti, "It's nice out here isn't it? Away from the hustle and bustle of the city... We should do this more often," the dragon gave a nod of agreement, and the pair contined North.

(( I'm probably going to make up dungeons locations as I go along, but I will plan some.))

Will: Your punching the tree causes you to to take one damage. If you're willing to calm down, Molt seems to have spotted something strange in the distance, a dungeon perhaps?

Bruce: You approach a farmer tending his crops. For a few extra gold, you can help him and his bond with their work.

((No, like I'm not sure how much control you want over the dungeons or whatever))

Molt decided to move, himself around the time his leg started to cramp up. Which meant there was suddenly a large amount of pain in his leg, while he was flying. He careened down and ran right smack into the building. Will paused his blind wrath for a second to observe his reptilian friend plummet from the air. He paused, and began to walk over to the heap, a sly grin on his face. Then he saw the building. He gazed up to the very tippity top. "Whoa."

Bruce heard someone calling from the side of the road. He looked over and saw a farmer toiling nearby. Walking over, Bruce leaned over the short stone wall, "Ho there! What is it you need?"
"A helping hand. I need someone to help me plant these crops. If you would help, I would greatly appreciate it, and pay you a little. I won't promise you a lot though."
"No need to. I'll help out. Just let us come on over and set us to work," he gestured to Viti, and the pair went to join the man.

((Hella control, likely. As in, full control of traps and enemies, unless you wanna trigger an enemy's attention before I post.))
Will: The top of the building is intricately carved, likely signaling treasure inside. The entrance is nearby, a simple dance between a human and a dragon drawn on with charcoal.

Bruce: You spend the day helping the farmer and receive 28 gold. He thanks you graciously and asks if you would like to go on a quest for him.

Will, entered the threshhold of the dungeon, a still peeved Molt in tow.
