  • Batpools Wild Tangerants: Evolve

So, um, today I decided to try something a little bit diffrent. Instead of doing a 100% serious review, I decided to let my true batpoolish, violent, anger filled nature flow in a tangerant. And for all you grammar nazis, yes, that is a made up word combining both tangent, and rant, I know, shut up.

Now for our first, "tangerant" we have an interesting subject. "Evolve" It's a FPS/3'd person beatem'up with intresting 4 v 1 gameplay. 4 Hunters, with guns, and tracking and whatnot go and hunt a big giant monster. Now, from my time with the game in beata, it was just horrid. First of all, the balancing, oh God the balancing. If hunters manage to pin the monster down in their little cage thingy, there is no fighting chance unless you are in level 3 evolution. I never got to get to my level 3 stage, because the game is so unbalanced it's not funny. "oh but Batpool, it's skill based!" NO, IT'S NOT. I refuse to accept the fact that there is a bloody dog that can track me, litterally wherever the hell I go and I'm given, what, I think it was a thirty second head start? So I have 30 seconds to kill enough monsters to evolve to level 2, at which point the dog is on me and I'm screwed. But the balancing, could simply be my lack of skill, you could be right.

BUT I CALL B, FREAKING S ON ALL THE DLC. It goes so far, that there wasn't even day one DLC! THERE WAS DLC BEFORE THE GAME LAUNCHED! Hell, I had DLC being shoved down my throat before the actual game was being advertised to me. And the devs, my God they must be some of the greediest people alive. Dare I say it, this game rivals EA's greed. Let's look at the steam page, shall we? DAY UNO:
Evolve: 59.99$, seems fair right? Well why stop there when you can buy: Evolve Digital Deluxe. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes Evolve and Evolve Hunting Season Pass. Only 79.99 Oh but wait, still on day one, you can also have: Evolve PC Monster Race: The PC Monster Race Edition includes Evolve, Evolve Hunting Season Pass, Fifth Playable Monster, Two Additional Hunters, and Four Monster Skins.
For the low, low price of 99.99 You wanna know what all the DLC costs without any editions? Roughly over 80 You know how greedy this is? Now you might be saying "Well as long as it's just cosmetics, nothing wrong with that right?" You'd be right, BUT THESE ARE GAMPLAY ALTERING CLASSES. BULL. JUST, BULL.

So, in conclusion, I found the "about this game" section for evolve on steam to be dreadfully inaccurate, so I decided to fix it.

About This "Game" (We really mean game fragment, sorry)

Evolve is the winner of over 60 awards making it the most award winning game coming in 2015. Most notably, Evolve is the first game to win both the official E3 and Gamescom Best of Show awards in the same year. Evolve also won "The most DLC 2015" award, from well known awesome person "THE BATPOOL", coincidentally, this award was given in 2014. He must be freaking psychic or something.

In a savage world of man vs DLC, are you the DLC buyer or the guy who wants a full game? Turtle Rock Studios bring you Evolve, the next-generation of DLC shooters where four DLC characters face-off against a single, player-controlled DLC. Stalk your prey, execute your attack and prove you are the apex predator in adrenaline-pumping DLCVDLC matches.

    Key Features:

DLCVDLC: Grab three friends and hunt the DLC or stalk the DLC as the evolving DLC. Whichever side you choose, you will have access to powerful weapons and abilities that deliver balanced, competitive gameplay (With a DLC purchase of course).

Buy DLC or Lose the game: Choose a DLC that fits your pay style. Whether you pay for the Trapper, Support, Assault, or Medic, every role is vital and DLC is key in surviving an encounter with the DLC.

Beast of Pay: As the DLC – the lone predator – you are the boss battle. Use paid abilities and an 6.99$ sense to wreak havoc, kill the normal players and prove you are the dominant buyer.

Savage Payment: Neither developer nor publisher are friendly in Evolve. Fall victim to bankruptcy or buy DLC strategically against your prey.

DLC Customization: Pay money to unlock new upgrades, skins and perks for your favorite class: DLC or DLC. Buy your infamy on the leaderboards and become the apex buyer.

Hope this Tangerant taught everyone a lesson today, "Evolve is more greedy then EA, so don't buy it. Unless you have 150$+ to give to some rich jerks for a mediocre game, in which case, go for it."
