  • Eragon (Movie Review)

I am going to review the movie Eragon, I am doing this because I love to bash on movies that in my mind epicly failed. So here we go.
Much like HBC did with Lightning Thief, I am going to have 2 reviews; one for the movie compared to the book, and one as a stand-alone.

    Movie compared to book
In my mind this movie was a GIANT failure compared to the wonderful book.
For example, it missed several MAJOR plot points, such as not even mentioning Solembum and/or his prophecy, both which come into major play in the 3rd and 4th books. They do not mention Angela in a major context either, who again, comes to be a major character in the final books. They leave out a LOT of places, and a lot of epic moments that made the book interesting. They do not make it clear that at the end of the movie, the cut in Eragon's back basically cripples him. And AGAIN this fact makes something very important happen in the next book. In the end, this movie would get an extremely low grade if you were to compare it to the book, luckily, I have another review of it.

    Standalone Movie
By itself this movie was very good, I loved the actors and the action was nice and fast-paced. The story was told very well, and the special effects were dazzling. If this was just a movie not based off of a book, I would have an endless amount of praises to give this movie. Unfortunately, it is based off a book and does it pretty horribly.

Thank you for reading my review, and have a nice day/night or whatever D:
