  • Weird Disorders growing up

now all, if not most of us, have probably had weird disorders growing up, some of them may still effect us today. I'm curious to know what everyone has gone though, it could be a simple allergy or it could be something more serious, in the end its up to you weather or not you wanna post about it, personally, I'm going to post about mine :3

when I was younger I had two disorders of sorts going on a nut allergy and epilepsy... Ill start with the nut allergy

    Disorder: allergy to nuts

how it effected me then: I ate it I could have died

How if effects me now: I cant stand the taste nor smell of nuts, makes me wanna gag

Disorder: pedi-mel epilepsy (yes there are different kinds of epilepsy for those who didn't know lol)

how it effected me then: well the first time I was little little, so I don't remember much expect "why do I have to take this yucky red stuff everyday" it went away and I forgot about everything but the medicine taste. I relapsed again at about age ten. what I remember from then is a lot of blanking out. I would stare off into space, anyone who didn't know what it looked like wouldn't even notice anything out of the ordinary, I didn't shake or anything just stare, most would probably assume I was day dreaming or something. anyway it caused me to get bullied as well I got told I was crazy for having epilepsy though most kids were too young to understand what it was, I did though as It ran in my family. it is actually caused by a mutant gene in my DNA a gene that is actually only in one other family in the world. a lot of my family has theories about the gene, as a lot of people in my family also suffer from feveral convulsions, that It causes more then just the epilepsy itself.

How it effects me now: I actually believe it has caused some minor brain damage, everyone in my family who has had epilepsy has some kind of speech problem. My vocabulary is fairly vast but sometimes when I speak I mess up the words, saying them in the wrong order or just plain old talking jiberish. I also have a very slight lisp. many of my family members also suffer from the same thing, all of those are ones who have had epilepsy it. my brother also had a raging case of feveral convulsions, and now he has some major speech problems, I don't know how to describe it as such but you can hear it in the way he speaks. he even had to go to speech therapy a couple times as a kid. I also think it is to account with my difficultly with spelling and grammar as well, even though I try my hardest I sort of just miss little things and wont notice it at all unless its pointed out to me, I'm just kinda slow with it all.

now some people, who don't understand epilepsy at all, will say there is no way it could cause brain damage, well your right, I doubt it could cause serious brain damage. but there is no way it doesn't cause some kind of brain damage, an epileptic seizure is caused when the brain works too fast for the body, and for a few seconds, little to no blood could be getting to the brain and, as we all know, blood needs to get into our brain for it work properly. with that in mind its no wonder so many of us (epileptics) have speech problems.

this is a disorder I have been around all my life, and it is one I will, most likely, have to watch my children or grandchildren go through. it is not a major disorder, however, it can be a major problem, especially during schooling years as our attention span can be limited because of it.

that's all I have to say, feel free to ask any questions about it and post whatever has troubled you in your life!

When I was in first grade maybe? I had reading glasses, but I outgrew those
Now I see as time goes on and I don't really want to talk to people, I'll speak faster and I'll stutter, or switch the beginnings of words so "Hi Brandon" would be "Bye Handon" or something, it's weird thinking of an example, ya feel?
That also happens when I think through what I want to say it's really awkward

My brother is autistic if that's wroth anything, not realy sure if it counts since its not me but whatever.
He's highly obsessed with casset tapes and vintage crap.
I personnaly don't realy have any disorders, unless you count being severly unathletic.
And I pretty much litteraly cannot eat salad, like I seriously have to fight not to puke after one leaf, if I didn't try it would all come up.
      Crap. I lost my signature!
