    Changing the Course of History

    (I apologize in advance if this should've been posted somewhere else)

    History is written. It is being written. We cannot change history, for it is set in stone.


    Or... is it?

    What if you could change the outcome of a major event in human history, hmm?

    What if Hitler won?
    What if the Berlin Wall never fell?
    What if John Lennon wasn't shot?(OK, maybe not so major)
    What if...?

    It's up to you. Choose an event. Maybe discuss a little about whwat you'd change, what you think the effects would be. You can also discuss other's ideas.

    Me: I personally would change the outcome of the Aztec and Spaniard conflict, so the Aztecs win. Cortes is killed. Tenochtitlan still stands.

    I think it would drastically change Mexico, and possibly some of Southern America as we know it. Maybe they'd take over the USA? Who knows?

    Discuss, come up with new ideas, it's up to you guys now!
    So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

    Warning : This post was made almost right after I got out of bed and woke up four hours and thirty minutes then I wanted to on accident.

    Hmm, I don't really know. I'd probably go make SEGA and Nintendo one company after the release of Sonic & Knuckles in 1994. But maybe I can pull that off in my future.

    Or I'd make myself the first president of the United States. Just give me a list of things that'll cut the country's debt and tell me a good year to go in. I'd probably wipe all of us out of existence, though.......yes, even you guys in other countries might not exist.

    And out of curiosity, I'd go back to the time of the Crusades and the time of the Italian Renaissance (the one in the...1400s? Unless that's the only one lol) to see if there was something like the Assassin Order that existed...JUST BECAUSE I'M SUCH AN AC FANBOY.

      Z, I don't think that really applies. It doesn't really count as history. As for you Blender, if John Lennon was still alive, the world would be different. His death is very significant. However, if there was anything I could change, it would be John F. Kennedy's death. I feel that if JFK lived out his life and his terms in office, the United States would have been different. Vietnam would have been avoided and we very well could have gone to space (legitimately *insert conspiracy theory about not landing on the moon here*). Furthermore, the Cold War could have ended a lot sooner. The Civil Rights Movement would have succeeded sooner than it did and the US would have flourished.

        OKAY well, it would be interesting to see what would happen if.. Benjamin Franklin never found electricity, Thus Thomas Edison would never make the lightbulb, and there would never be video games.

        Of course, if that happened, maybe none of us would never have been born. I'd also like to bring a toaster to the 1400's (outlet an all) and bring it to an assassin, to trick him with "black magic" Lol.

        Although, time is a very important discusion. If, time doesn't go in one single line of thread, then where are the time travelers? Shouldn't they be popping up, or is it only government approved and used...an dare hiding in our world...?

        But my counter to that is Einstein said there was only a string of time that went forward. So, therefore timetravel hasn't been invented. Besides, if it was, that would mean you could go back (maybe not even on earth, choke out in space) and destroy what was meant to be, and what not.

        So really, if you go back to change something, in the future, when you would originally change the Aztec stuff, you would never need to go back in time, therefore the "You" who changed to the Aztecs winning wouldn't exist anymore. So unless you want to not exist, don't change time!

        Besides if you change somwthing as a kid and look him in the eye everything will just "not exist." Yep! I got that from my Portal Handbook from aperature! But.... I would like to live in the medevial times, or in the time of the Assassin, and become the first Silent slayer of injustice.

            Well Leaf, I hate to disappoint you, but Einstein DID make a time machine. He had proven the theory of it working and it was made. After its use, he destroyed it and the final page of the blueprints to it so no one with the wrong intentions could use this "weapon" of sorts for wrong doing. We've found the other pages except that last one. So... in theory, his theory exactly, it's been proven. And Z, I know you were just waking up, but this brings me to the point:

            STAY ON TOPIC. WE CAN DISCUSS TIME TRAVEL IN ANOTHER THREAD IF WE WISH. HAVE A NICE DAY!

                If I could change one thing...it would be the birth of Communism/Socialism. I would love to have the chance to stop Communism/Socialism from EVER existing. These two ideologies have chaos for the human race.

                  If I could change one thing, it would be going back to WW1 Germany and having a talk with the principal of The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. There, WW2 solved.

                    I wouldn't change World War II. Personally, I think it did as much good as it did evil. It got all of the nations around the world out of global recession and gave everyone jobs. Admittedly, Hitler and the Nazis could have been changed where the Holocaust was avoided, but as grim of an event as it was, World War II had its upsides. I personally would leave it.
