  • Romney vs. Obama

Alright so I'm sure all of you have heard about the Romney and Obama conflicts in the media, weather you're from America or not.

So that brings us to the question, Romney or Obama?

I personally don't know who I would choose, because I'm not even sure what to believe anymore.

    But yeah, Romney or Obama?

I'm not going to post any facts in this post, because I'm lame and don't know if what I've gathered is true. As far as I know though, Obama supports Gay Marriage and Romney does not.

I'm editing the poll options. One thing everyone seems to forget is that there are countless independent parties who do not affiliate with any of the big ones. They aren't heard about because they either reject funding from corporations or they just don't get enough money. Alternatively, if I recall correctly, a ballot has a spot for write-ins also.

Then tell me the names of the Independent Parties.
I only put Romney and Obama becauseif memory serves, Republican and Democratic parties are the only parties allowed in office.
Correct me if I'm wrong, my Civics class in seventh grade is foggy.

There are too many independent parties to list. I'd just put "Independent" as that's what the rest of the parties are listed as. As for being in office, that's not true. So long as the candidate is American and voted by the Electoral College, anyone can be President. It usually helps to be already affiliated with the government already. However, no one mentions the independents because they're never mainstream. Therefore they're never elected. However, it is completely plausible that if the above conditions are met, that they can be President.

Interesting. That makes sense; we did a project in Civics with our own Independent Parties and it confused me until now.

                Oooh, looky here!

Okay guys, I'm here to draw your attention to this thread, as it is getting closer to Election Day, and I think it would be cool to see who the Americans of Age of War think should be the next President of the United States.

Alright, so this game : http://www.marketplace.org/topics/economy/budget-hero
                DON'T SKIP THE BRIEFING!

Also, play the game before reading the rest of this post.

Alright, so if you played Budget Hero (the link above), you know that there are those badges after the main screen (and the debriefing if you were wise) that were basically goals that you have. Two of these badges were the Mitt Romney badge and the Barack Obama badge. If you meet the requirements for the Mitt Romney badge, the budget busts in 2024(or something like that), but if you meet the requirements for the Barack Obama badge, the budget busts in 2032. Both dates are below the default date (2033), but meeting the requirements for the Obama badge seem to have a better effect on the economy. So if these calculations are true, that means if Obama wins the election, the budget will probably bust in eight years after 2024, the date that the budget is predicted to bust if Romney is elected. So....keep that in mind if you are a eligible voter in the US.

Also, if you played Budget Hero, tell us what you did! (Budget Bust date, what Badges you got(as in you met the requirements), biggest cards, etc.)

My opinion on the Political Shift:

                  From what I've heard
Romeny is this biggot who only likes rich, white, straight guys. This coming from 99% of Tumblr and nearly every one of my friends.

Obama is the opposite or somefin.

This coming from some kid in my class who heard it from someone else:

Romney is gonna come in with "Ronald Regan Powers" and fix the ecomony.

Obama is gonna ***** things up

                  From my stepdad:
Romney is gonna try to get us out of China's debt

Obama bought all these stimulus packages and is putting us in debt

                  My personal opinion:
                  Everybody's screwed either way man.
All I know is that everybody is at each others throats as for who wins the election. Honestly, I don't care. There's nothing I can do to change it, or stop it, and with all the commotion, I'm just going to stay out of it.
I've also heard Romney wants to cut childrens' programing and ditch abortion clinics funded by the government.
This may or may not be true, I'm just stating what I've heard.

Personally, government funded abortion clinics, I think, are stupid. People are getting knocked up and getting the government to save their ***es. This is not how it works. You plan your children, you use protection, you even use a freakin' morning after pill should it be needed. If you know you can't take care of a baby, and you're too careless to try to avoid it, don't do what causes it.

As far as children's programming goes, I see what he's trying to do, with cutting back on spending. Or so my stepdad says. That seems pretty lame, but if it gets us out of the debt the country is in, it seems like a good idea.
But hey, what do I know, right?

Basically what I mainly hear people say about Romney:

He hates people who aren't white and straight
                  He is ***ist

What I hear people say about Obama:

                  *cricket chirping*
-I THOUGHT WE KILLED THAT CRICKET OMG-

I really don't even know, and I'm afraid trying to research it will only recover a sea of opinions and Romney hate and few facts.
Maybe because I didn't watch the debates.
Maybe because I didn't go to a Romney Rally.
I don't really know, but as I said before, all of this is out of my control.
