  • THEORY: Origin and Fate of the Gerudo

The Gerudo are a mysterious race in terms of origins. There are many theories out there that suggest where they came from, but one that I like is the one I thought of. What if the Gerudo are really ancient Twili? The Twili could have figured out how to escape the Twilight Realm after the Interloper War. They leave and create Gerudo Fortress. Over time, the Twili evolved into the Gerudo gaining darker red hair, tan skin (from the constant sun) and a side-effect of leaving, they can no longer give birth to a pure Gerudo male except for one, every 100 years.

So then, we have a possible origin, what about their fate? They were in Four Swords Adventures, but not Twilight Princess. Theories suggest that they either died following Ganondorf into battle or they fled Hyrule and later returned. Others say that they could just have relocated in the desert, abandoning their structures. Another theory says that survivors were punished by being sent back into the Twilight Realm. Another theory is that they could have easily been killed off. The Sages could have easily murdered all of the Gerudo as punishment and to show that Ganondorf's behavior would not be tolerated. It's also possible that, if my origins theory is correct, that the Sages found out about the Gerudo being ancient Twili and killed them out of fear and spite.

    What do you think?

    THEORIES!
Anyway, I definitely agree with your origin story. It makes sense, and, while I have no time, to go into more specifics on why I agree, I do.
As for the fate story: it's new to me, but it's also very plausible. I can easily see that happening.
    Keep theorizing!
