  • Shiek in Ocarina

Possible spoilers? Nothing major, so I'm not going to scoot this under SPOILER tags.

So we're all fully aware of how important Shiek is to Ocarina, even if we didn't play the game, we know that she taught us the warp songs. Even if we wanted to trek through Hyrule to get to each temple, the Nocturne of Shadow warped us up the cliff in the graveyard to reach the otherwise inaccessible Shadow Temple.

But that's not my point here; when you first pull the Master Sword and read through the cut scene with Raru explaining your destiny, you try to leave only to be stopped by Shiek. She explains that you have to go to the Forest Temple first, or, something along those lines.
That's not the important part. The cutscene boots you out of the room the pedistool is in and when you go back, Shiek is standing in front of the side you have to stand before to put the sword back and time travel back seven years.

You can't move her, and she doesn't bother to leave until you finish the Forest Temple and she teaches you the Prelude of Light. But, why is she there? Is it just so that you'll progress and stop screwin' around in the game, or is she there for story reasons? My theory is that she stands there to prevent Link from ditching his destiny and going back and living his childhood without defeating Ganondorf. I mean sure, he'd probably be shunned by most of the Kokiri, and Saria will eventually go to the Forest Temple due to her destiny as a sage (or in J's theory, be killed) and never awaken because Link may leave the forest and end up dying in Hyrule for some reason before he can get to the temple.
He may not even know he's supposed to go there.

    So yeah that's a theory :u
