Sanura wrinkled her nose at the suggestion of manual labor. She didn't do much of that sort of thing. She was a noble daughter, there was no need for her to do such things. No you're not, she reminded herself yet again. You're the daughter of a servant. She turned to the soldier and gave him a polite smile. "I'd love to, Captain." She wasn't certain his exact rank, but she assumed that his armor meant he was of some rank. She turned to Zylan, but hesitated mounting him. She could buy supplies and load them on her horse, or should she just ride him? And would the soldier look down on her for riding while he had to go on foot? She glanced at him, trying to decide.

Hangbri looked at Sanura and adjusted his armor. "Gimme a couple minutes to gather my belongings from my home," he told Sanura. He walked off towards the south and after several minutes returned with a large dufflebag full of various items visible like tankards, ladles and a bedroll, among many other things.

Sanura eyed the large bag. "You got that? I can put it on Zylan if you want. He won't mind." The stallion tossed his black mane as if in affirmation. Sanura wondered if she should get some stuff too, but discarded the idea. She could buy the food she needed, and she knew where rivers were if she needed the water. Beyond that, she was certain she would be fine.

Hangbri looked to the girl, "Do you need to get any supplies or luggage? From here to Sunken City is about a two to three day trip. Are you sure you won't need any supplies?" Hangbri asked rather stoically. "I won't be responsible for your negligence. I won't let you be unprotected either, but I can't protect you from carelessness."

Sanura brought up her mental map of the route. There was forest along the path, and she was certain she knew what foods were edible there. She also knew how to hunt, so she felt reasonably sure she'd be fine. "Don't worry about me, Captain. My family taught me how to take care of myself in the wild. I will be fine." She thought for a minute. "Although if it will make you feel better, I can go and buy some supplies." Then she could pack the supplies on Zylan and not have to ride the horse, if the captain didn't want to put his own on the stallion. That way, she wouldn't feel guilty about riding while he walked.

Hangbri slung his large backpack around his shoulders, both straps tight on his back. The tankards and other utensils clanked against each other for a moment in the commotion. "You having supplies is your concern. I have everything that I need."

Sanura rolled her eyes, then mounted Zylan. She doubted she'd be put ahead of this man in rank because of her parents, but as regular people, she out-ranked him. He could at least pretend to be nice. She patted his chocolate shoulder, then gathered the reins and clucked at him. As he started forward, Sanura looked down at the captain. "Do you want me to check my pace, or do you mind if I gallop ahead?" she asked. She was confident that she could defend herself if there were any vermin ahead of her and Zylan, but she wouldn't mind the extra sword at her back as a precaution. She wasn't sure if she was willing to deal with the man's attitude at the same time though.

"Go ahead, if you'd like," Hangbri had said with a neutral tone. "However, I will move at my pace where I can ensure the surroundings are secured and I am not being stalked in the night by one of those vermin Labrynnians. If you do go ahead, be careful. Many creatures live in the Woods of Winter."

Sanura rolled her eyes. The Labrynna border was far enough from here that she doubted very much running into one. Hylians, on the other, were more of a threat. She pushed Zylan into a trot until the horse was a few feet in front of the soldier. Then she checked his pace a little. She didn't want to lose the soldier, in case there were threats here. She just didn't want to be close enough to have to worry about his attitude.

Ailun smiled as he walked away from a now-shaken Vaeln. He had quickly demonstrated his powers and quickly been accepted into the army. He saw a man and a woman on a horse, and approached them. "You going through the Woods of Winter? I need to get my stuff, and as powerful as I may be there's safety in numbers."

Hangbri looked at the man, and snorted. "With my skill, I don't need help. I can fight a horde of moblins without anyone's help. When I get back to the battlefield, those Labrynnians won't know who or what happened to them," Hangbri said rather arrogantly.

Ailun snorted rather rudely. "You've got a mighty-big sword and some armor. I have a mighty big staff and this." He let some electricity crackle between his fingers. "I think that I could certainly hold my own, but the few minutes it takes to take down my camp leave me very vulnerable. I'm simply asking for someone to accompany me. Not that I need it."

Hangbri erupted into laughter. "Magic is a dead combat. They died with the ancient sages of old. After the Maiden's War and the defeat of Agahnim, magic is lost now. And anyone who knows it, is too weak to fight with real weapons."

Sanura glanced back as she heard two male voices. She sighed as she saw another man had joined them. She checked Zylan's pace enough to let them draw level with her. She was surprised to hear them talking about magic. "Magic? I thought that had died out ages ago," she said. She was a book worm, and magic was her favorite topic to read. How many times had magic turned the tide of the battle? In almost all the stories she had read, magic was a powerful weapon, and dangerous.

Ailun looked at the woman ahead of them. "So did I, until I randomly got captured one day and woke up with this." He turned back to the arrogant, rather annoying man beside him. "I never said I couldn't fight with real weapons. If we weren't on the same side, my knife would be at your throat."

(When do we transition to woods of winter?)
