Hangbri sat down next to Sanura and tried to talk. "What's your story?" he asked inquisitively. "You don't seem the soldier type to be willing to fight and get your hands dirty for this kind of work."

Ailun pulled up some wild herb... busil, was it? Oh well. He had a fair bit, and he thought that it would certainly do well with the fish. He stepped back into the clearing, brushing stray branches from his sleeves. He walked over to Sanura. "I got some kind of herb, but I only got this cause it was all I recognized as being edible. Didn't want to poison us...or, most of us." He glanced quickly at Hangbri. "Where do you want me to put them?"So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

Sanura glanced up at Hangbri. "So. The stuck-up soldeir deigns to speak to a woman. Will there also be an eclipse?" She snorted, and turned back to her fish. "I am the daughter of a maid, but I was brought up by a noble couple. Ever since they told me I wasn't there real daughter, I have tried finding my place in the world. If I must travel to the far-corners of the earth, even to the legendary Logata, then that is what I will do."
She glanced up as Ailun came in with basil leaves in his hand. She took them, smiling. "Thanks." She chopped the leaves up finely, then started to rub them into the fish skin, slapping and kneading to work it in fully. She looked up at Ailun. "Did you happen to see any lemons? Ailun raised an eyebrow. "Um... I don't think that lemons are exactly commonplace around here. Not to sound lazy, but there are some really spiky plants back there, and it was pure chance I found a little grove of that... Basil! That's it! Hangbri he kept looking at Sanura. He watched her tend to the dinner and the conversation with Ailun. "Why does it make a difference with where you fit in, if you know those adopted parents weren't your actual own? Sounds like a bad trade to me, on your part. You had everything, and so your caretakers weren't your actual parents. So you leave with nothing. Sounds like a very bad trade, if you ask me."sigpic

"I didn't think so," Sanura said, laughing at Ailun's outburt. She finished with the fish and placed them over the fire, then turned to Hangbri. "I've been living a lie my whole life. I had thought they were my true parents, and to know that I've been living a lie this whole time? I'd rather travel the world with only the clothes on my back than live a lie." She glared at the soldier. "I doubt you've ever had that sort of situation. I doubt you would have cared. So I'd much rather focus on my cooking than try to make you see it." She turned back to her cooking. "And for your information, I didn't leave with nothing. I have Zylan, my sword, and all the knowledge I have earned. Cooking, geography, fighting, reading, writing, hunting, politics. I also know how to play a lyre." She gestured at the pile of saddlebags from Zylan, where her small lyre was hidden. "Though I doubt it will be helpful from your view, music tends to ease nerves and lift moods. Ailun chuckled slightly at Sanura's comment. He was leaning against a nearby tree. "Don't put any effort into that, Sanura. The only thing he wants to dwell on is the coming bloodshed. Ailun shrugged. "I dunno. There's the pleasant songs, then there are those annoying songs that are just high, pitch-y and get on your nerves. If I listen to it for too long, it REALLY gets on my nerves." He took out his knife, which had somehow become chipped. He cursed slightly. "I need some sort of stone to sharpen this. Hangbri sat there slightly stunned at the remarks they traded. He felt alone between the pair and he knew why. He then spoke softly, "As a matter of fact, I like to sing. You wouldn't expect it of me, but when I was a young lad, I was the best singer in my family. Hymns about the Goddesses are my favorites, and my specialties. If you don't mind, maybe we can sing and dance later? Perhaps after supper?" Hangbri was now shocked at his confession. But then again, he wasn't. In some degree, he felt like he was bragging, but in a different tone; while in another context, he felt weird confessing a secret to a stranger. 'Maybe Mum was right... Music does bring the world together.'sigpic

Ailun rolled his eyes, obviously in bad taste. He stood just outside the camp, and could hear everything they said. He really didn't like Hangbri. "I'm not sure which of those sounds I'd prefer more," he shouted through the trees. He found the rock he needed, and stepped through the trees, catching his cloak on a sharp branch. "In the name of Farore, why did I ever decide to wear this?" He tugged at it, tearing it quite significantly. "Crud. I could certainly have prevented that." Sanura laughed, both at Hangbri's statement and Ailun's comment. "Because it makes you look good," she said cheekily. "All dark and mysterious, like a proper sorcerer." Then she turned to the fish. Seeing they were done, she gingerly started pulling them away from the flames, placing them on a couple plates from her pack. Hangbri gave a stern look at Sanura. He approached her and yanked the stone 'plate' from her. "I won't let you eat off of something so filthy. You could die from the germs on it. Let a real man handle the dangers."sigpic
