Kaida shrugged. "At least in a desert, we'd know which way is north, south, east, or west. Here, I can't see the sun well enough for that." She glanced around as she heard music playing, sounding similair to her own flute, although not as high-pitched, like a pipe she had once heard. She discovered its source was a little scarecrow. "Skull Child," she muttered, recalling pictures she had seen of the demon-poccessed child that had attempted to destroy Clock Town. She never liked those pictures, though through no fault of the artist. She just didn't like that time for Termina, and always felt it should be forgotten. All the discord and choas that had ensued, simply because the child had wanted someone to play with. It sickened her.
When Donovan moved to follow it, she grabbed his arm. "Don't," she hissed warningly. "We don't know where it could be leading us. It could be like those beasts you sometimes see in the swamp, who lead you through the mists at night, only for you to fall in the actual swamp and be sucked down, never to be seen again. While I doubt there's a swamp here, it's the same concept. If he wants us to go that way, we should go the opposite." Zarola simply lay down as she realized that their direction was going to be argued for a while.

"I have a feeling you're right," Donovan said, stepped backwards, away from the Skull Kid. "I have a bad feeling about this guy. Especially if he really is a Skull Kid." Suddenly the Skull Kid blew a terribly sounding tone with his horn. Donovan had never heard such an ugly sound. Four Puppets (http://www.zeldawiki.org/Puppet) suddenly dropped from the trees. It was obvious that they were under the command of Skull Kid. Donovan didn't have any control over them, they were all Skull Kid's, and they were obviously ready to kill. "We have to fight them." Donovan said as he quickly drew his sword and blocked a swinging Puppet arm. He sent the Puppet swinging with a kick and finished it off. "This shouldn't be too tough. Especially with your sword skills."

Kaida flinched at the awful note the Skull Child blew. It grated against her ears, like banging rocks together. When the puppets appeared, she almost didn't react in time. One managed to claw her back, luckily hitting her breastplate, before she pulled herself together. Yanking Flame from its sheathe, she stabbed the puppet, causing it to disintegrate. She twisted around and lopped the arm off another one, finishing it with a quick follow-up swipe. The third one, however, managed to get past her guard and slash her right arm. She cut it away, biting her lip to keep from yelping with pain. Luckily, she was skilled enough with her other hand that it didn't leave her completely defenseless, but it was an irritating distraction. "Giants, that smarts," she finally let out from between clenched teeth. She sat on the grass to inspect the damage, and swore again when she saw that it wouldn't heal for several days. Zarola sniffed at the bleeding wound, then started to lick at it. Kaida shooed her away. "Don't want it infected, you silly cat," the huntress said, then shifted her pack to see if she still had the first aid kit inside, although she doubted it. She hadn't carried one in a while, thinking she was in a lucky streak. Apperently, that streak was now over.

As Donovan turned to fight another Puppet when he saw it get Kaida in the arm before she finished it off. "Woah," He said, looking at her wound. He almost said "You okay?" And realized she obviously had a deep gash in her arm that didn't look good at all. He was a bit surprised she got hit, but he also knew the Puppet attack was completely sudden. He looked up at where the Skull Kid had been. He had disappeared like before, further in the woods, still playing that song in the distance. "We better fix that up... I'm not so sure how, though." He said. The best thing he could think of was to wrap it with some cloth to slow down the bleeding and try now to get dirt in it, so he used his sword to cut a sleeve off of his shirt and tie it around her arm. "We don't have anything to wash it with right now, but this should keep it safe for now. If we run away from that scarecrow guy, that should be the last time we're seeing the Puppets. If we see any more monsters that I don't have any control over, I will be surprised. You ready to keep going?" He held out an arm for Kaida to grab with her healthy one to get up and keep moving through the forest. "If all these trees can grow here, there must be some water nearby to clean it up a bit with."

Kaida felt a warm glow when she realized Donovan was concerned about her. It had been a long time since anyone had cared for her. She had always taken care of herself. It was... nice... to be treated like this, carefully and gentely, but still respectfully. She took his hand and heaved herself upright. "Thanks, Donovan," she said, then glanced around. "Yeah, there should be water, but it could all be underground. We haven't seen any animals, aside from that thing," she gestured over her shoulder, wincing as she used her right arm out of habit, "so we'll have to depend on Zarola, I suspect." She looked at the panther, who was sulking a little way ahead. "Zarola. Can you find water?" The black leopard looked up at her, ears *****ed curiously, then turned back to her sulking. Kaida threw her hands up, wincing again. "How on the Giants' earth am I supposed to ask any differently?" Muttering under her breathe, she pulled her pack back on her shoulder and looked at Donovan. "Guess she's done playing leader."

"Okay then," Donovan said. Secretly, he found it funny how independent the Panther was. "These woods couldn't go on for too long. If they were big enough, Lyxa probably would have told me about them." He began making his way through the forest, making sure Kaida and Zarola were keeping up fine. He held back any branches that could swing and hit Kaida's wound or just give her another one. Eventually the Skull Kid's song faded away and they never encountered any monsters. They went on for only five minutes before reaching an opening. They stood on a cliff, with a bridge leading off of it and to another part of the forest. That other part of the forest seemed much less dense with trees and walls, and would be much easier to navigate through. Donovan smiled. "With a bridge comes civilization." He said, taking his first steps onto it. It swung a bit, but they would be fine.

(What exactly is under all those bridges in the Faron Province? I haven't played TP for a while and my Wii is broken. All I remember is pure white under the bridges...)

(looking at a video, it looks like it's just cliff going down and disappearing into fog. Don't know for certainty. I haven't played the game in ages. lol)

Kaida followed along behind Donovan, careful to keep her arm close to her side. She used her left to push away any branches that were in her way, but she could tell from the grating noise that several of them were scartching her breastplate. "Better not scratch off the dragon paint," she muttered to herself. Zarola trottered along behind the pair as they pushed their way through the forest. Kaida was a little surprised when they exited the forest at a cliff with a bridge. She stared at it, then shrugged. It looked unstable, but she had crossed sound bridges before that looked unstable. "Yup. Who knows what sort of language they'll speak, though. Might even be more unusual than Malina and her Labrynna were." She smiled at Donovan to show she was joking.

Donovan smiled at Kaida's joke, but he couldn't manage a laugh. He was super careful on the bridge, and the sight of nothing but white fog below him gave him butterflies. He had never seen anything like it. If any of them did somehow fall, it would be a guaranteed loss. Soon enough, they reached the other side and Donovan realized he had held his breath all the way across the bridge. The ended up on another cliff, and it seemed like the only way to go was through a cave ahead of them. It wasn't nearly as large as the cave they had spent the previous day in, and not nearly as long either. They had made it through the cave in about one minute. The came out in a clearing in the middle of a forest. There seemed to be more caves branching off of the one they just left. Something caught Donovan's attention. Nearby, a blue bird flapped his wings, calling out to them. "Woo! Hey, over here!" A talking bird. It made Donovan feel uneasy, as if it were possessed or something. The bird seemed to be running a shop though, and things looked safe. Maybe if they were lucky he would have something to help Kaida.

(The bridge came out on a cliff and into a cave [both don't exist in TP] and the cave was linked to the caves that do exist in TP. The came out of the cave by Trill's Shop that leads to the Forest Temple. Should we say Trill is selling red potions or are potions too unrealistic? http://www.zeldawiki.org/Trill#Movie)

(Alright. Red potions have been used in the RP before. So I don't see anything wrong with it. )

Kaida followed Donovan across the bridge and through the cave, careful to keep her arm from hitting anything. She looked around the clearing, jumping in surprise when the bird spoke. She stared at it. "A talking animal. If this place has a lot of those, this'll be a rather interesting visit," she mused to Donovan. Zarola watched the bird, her tail twitching slightly as she considered pouncing at the bird. She decided it wouldn't be worth it and pulled out of her crouch to watch her two companions.

Donovan walked over to the bird. "Uhm--"
"Woo! I haven't had customers for ages!" The bird said. "Welcome to Twill's shop! How can I help ya?"
"Uhh... any red potions by chance?" Donovan asked. Looking around, he saw the red chu jelly in a jar.
"That'll be 15 rupees!" Twill chirped.
"Shoot..." Donovan sighed. "Kaida, got any rupees? I can pay you back."
"Ya know, we sell state of the art lanterns too!" Twill said. "You'll never get your hands on anything like them anywhere else!"

Kaida shook her head at the bird. How on earth could a creature like this run a shop? It was just... bizarre. She reached to her wallet, wincing as the movement caused her arm to twinge, and pulled out a yellow Rupee and a few green ones. She handed them to Donovan. "Make sure I counted right, will you?" she asked. Normally, she counted with her fingers, without even needing to look at the money, but she wasn't sure if her sense of touch had been damaged at all by her injury. She glanced over at the lanterns. "Wouldn't hurt to get one of those either, do you think? How much are they?" she directed the second question to the bird.
                      "100," it trilled.
Kaida grimaced. She might have a hundred Rupees, but she doubted she had very much more than that. Besides, they needed all the money they had to get through this country. If that meant going without a lantern, that would be the price.

Donovan counted exactly 15 rupees and handed them over to the bird in exchange for the red potion. "I don't think we'll need a lantern unless we go through another cave. And I could use a break from caves." Donovan said. "Do you know the way to the nearest town?" He asked Trill.
"Head down to the end of this clearing here and take the short cave down there to get to a little pond. Across the pond there are two pathways--one is another cave and one is just a plain clearing. They will lead you to a clearing like this one where my friend is also running a shop. Ask him where to go from there. You sure you don't want a lantern?"
"We'll do without one." Donovan said. "Thanks for everything." The bird was truly a life saver. Donovan walked over to Kaida and handed her the red potion. "Help yourself." He smiled. Now they were free again. They could do whatever they wanted, and had no need to rush and find help. "So, I guess we should just follow those directions and see where we'll go next from there. Lyxa told me about a city in the center of this land. A city much greater than Clock Towners could ever imagine. Wanna check that out?"

(Oh and btw the pond Trill mentions is that polluted pond from TP. But I guess it's not polluted yet, to make things less complicated. Is that okay?)

(sounds good, although I think you're a little mistaken in your geometry. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, the split paths is through the tunnel, not leading to it)

Kaida grimaced as she took the potion. "Bottom's up," she said, raising it in a salute, then gulped it down. She hadn't drinked red potion in a long time, but she remembered it burned going down, like hard liquor. It also made her injuries itch like mad. This time was no different than any other. When she had drinked about a quarter of the potion, she stoppered the bottle and wiped her lip. "Gah, that stuff burns. Now I remember why I prefer to heal at a normal pace. Still, it would be better than bleeding all over the place and attracting who knows what. Thanks, Donovan." She placed the bottle carefully in her pack, trying to arrange the other items in it to protect the bottle from shattering. "I'm good with going wherever," she called to Donovan as she arranged her pack. "Although wherever we do end up going, I want a survinear(sp)." She straightened, flipped her braid back over her shoulder, and pulled her pack back on. "Ready to go whenever you are."

(Hm, I'm just using the Hyrule map in the tread. As I said, my Wii is broken and I haven't played the game for a while, so help me on this XD Actually, I'll just skip to the other shop. The first part of this post will be very summarizey)

After Kaida was healed, the trio followed the bird's directions and ended up at the second shop like he said. Donovan walked over to the shopkeeper.
"How can I help you sir?" The short, afroed man said. He was like a human version of Trill.
"Do you know the way to the Castle Town?" Donovan asked. He decided that would be a good place to start looking for Sheikah or Kakariko Village. The shopkeeper chuckled. Donovan guessed that just about everyone knew how to get to town.
"Just head North from here," The shopkeeper said. "Need a compass or something? They're only 10 rupees." Donovan looked over at Kaida. In his head, he debated over asking for money. He could never be sure if he could get enough money to pay back for the potion plus the compass. Although, a compass was probably the best thing they could get right now. Donovan shrugged.
"I'll pay you back again." He said. Still, he didn't know how he would make money. But since he began his journey with Kaida, he realized he would get a job in the future, he had to. And he would always keep touch with Kaida.

(lol Alright. I'm probably remembering wrong, so I might ***** us both up. lol)

Kaida wrinkled her nose as she went by the pot of stew over the fire. "What the Giants is in that thing?" she muttered. She could stomach some weird concoctions if she had to, but whatever was in that pot made her stomach turn. She glanced up as she heard Donovan ask for directions, then up at the sun to gage which way was north. She absent-mindedly listened to the shopkeeper offer a compass, then Donovan ask to borrow the money for it. Sighing, she pulled out another yellow and handed it to him. "I should charge you interest, if you keep having to borrow from me," she teased. Briefly, she wondered how he'd be able to pay her back, especially with all the travelling she did with her job. Then she thrust the thought aside. He'd find a way to pay her back eventually. Until then, she'd just keep track of the amount and be patient.
