    Ryli blushed at Leo's compliments. When Kairu got angry, Ryli smoothed his hair and looked him in the eye, a gentle expression on her face. "Kairu, this is your Leo. This is your little boy, all grown up. He's right here, and he just helped save your life."

      "No, the Leo I helped conceive is dead. He died in the fire with his mother. This is a different version of him. One that killed me once. I don't trust him. I did before he killed me, and this is what I got." Kairu showed both of them the scar where the sword went clean through his chest. "Sounds like he more of your son, than mine."

      That's when Leo butted in, I'll have you know that Miss Ryli wanted kids with you! Or at least my version did. She was always willing to be there for me bbecause she thought of me as yours and her child!" Leo was no crying. He was ddoing his best to restrain himself. Kairu was already hurt, the last thing he wanted to be blamed for his making it worse. "Why can't you just listen to me, Dad! That was your bibiggest problem! You never treated me like I was older! I'm not seven! I'm a grown man! Why won't you just listen to me?"

      Kairu hung his head, "How many times do I need to tell you? You tried to kill me! I first trusted you and this is what you did to me! You nearly drove Ryli and I apart, and she was nearly executed for believing she was a spy!"

      "And how many times do I have to apologize? I am SORRY for everything I've done! I was blinded by my rage and desire for revenge. Please? Can we start over? I just want you to accept me..." Leo began to cry some more. He lifted Kairu up under the shoulder and stood up to fast, almost intentionally. A brief crunch rang out before quickly subsiding, almost seeming to never happened.

        "What was that sound?" Ryli asked. She couldn't tell if the awful crunch came from Kairu or Leo. The other version of me sounds just like me.... Or at least how I was before Kairu went missing. I could be that person for him again, if only he would stay away from Malina and I could trust him not to make me end up like his wife.

          Kairu exclaimed in pain for a moment. "That was my arm... Let's just go back to camp."
