Kainis looked at Rin's knee. "I'm Kainis. Could I help at all with that knee? It looks pretty bad." He mentally added those 'madmen' to his kill list. Now it was them and his family's murderers. He remembered something. "Actually, I know a place if you're looking for shelter. I'm not sure you could make it on that knee though." He turned towards the small farm. "Perhaps we could borrow a horse."So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

Kainis nodded. "Thanks. I have a concern though. This guy needs to rest, and no offense, but I'm not sure this farm is the best place. I know of a place that's safe, hidden, and the people there are good with weapons. If I could borrow a horse, we could get him there once he feels up to it." He looked around. Joshua was about to offer to help, but Avalona was gone before he could. He shrugged, then turned to the wolf sitting by the fire. He was still watching Joshua. The man chuckled and reached out to rub the wolf's head. The wolf laid his ears back and growled, but didn't move beyond that.
Joshua backed off, respecting the creature's request. He turned and headed to the room he had been given. He passed by the door of Elliot and Rose's room and paused to see if they were still away. He couldn't hear any talking, so he assumed they were asleep. Shrugging, he continued to his room.The wolf howls his mournful song,
My heart beats as I listen to him.
It rises and falls as he speaks to the moon,
A chilling howl that fills me with joy.
The future isn't set in stone. Even if it was, stones can been broken.

Kainis only then noticed the rain that was falling. Perhaps it had been the rush of the moment. He tightened his cloak's hood. Suddenly, he heard shouts in the distance. He turned, gesturing to the other two. "Stay here, I'll be right back." He ran out to the field, and was still in the other's vision when he saw the two figures, in black cloaks with bows. Each wore a sword at their waist. One of them spoke in a deep voice. "Kainis... only you survived that fire. We've come to finish the job." They raised their bows. Kainis brought out a bladeshot and fired at one of them. He grabbed where the blade pierced his heart. That was all he had time for, before the other's arrow hit him in the right shoulder. He cried out in pain, and fell to the ground.So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

Kainis grunted and withdrew his bladeshot. He aimed and fired at the other one. The cloaked figure dodged, then stepped forward. His legs were on either side of the chain. Kainis drew it back in, and he was swept backwards. Getting up, he used his right arm and pain flared. He ran and jumped, the blade pointing towards his throat.
Suddenly, pain flared in his left leg. He faltered, turned, and flew over the bandit. He winced as he realized another arrow was there.
Man, this guy is fast.
