Kainis waved his hand. "No thanks, I think I can do it myself." He got up, walked over to the farm with a heavy limp, and took the shovel. He then walked out to the field, and looked at the dozen or so bodies that were laying around. This would take a while, but it'd make him feel better and take his mind off his brother. He walked over to the first, and began to dig a hole.

Elliot was about to respond to Rose when someone on the other side of the door shouted for them to come out. Avalona then shouted something, and fled by them down the hall. A third person said something after her, but stopped when he realized she was gone. There'd certainly been a lot of outbursts of emotions lately. He was starting to feel a little uncomfortable just standing there amidst it all. He turned to Rose and added on to what Joshua said. "He's right. I'm sure Sephira would be more than happy to help you relearn what you've forgetten. Who knows, maybe it'll trigger a memory for you."Comment

Kainis wiped some sweat from his brow. He had only gotten about half the hole dug, then he just threw up his hands. He figured it would be easier in the morning. Joshua was a little surprised that Elliot agreed with him. He knew the younger man didn't like him much. Still, if it really was a good idea, it showed him just how skilled Sephira must be. He gave himself a mental pat on the back for his good guess. Then he caught the last part of what Elliot said. Trigger a memory? he wondered to himself. What happened after she left me? He put an arm on Elliot's shoulder. "Hey, can I talk to your fiancee real quick?" he asked Rose. He figured the fiancee term wasn't accurate, but he thought it might show Elliot that he now knew Rose was off-limits.The wolf howls his mournful song,
My heart beats as I listen to him.
It rises and falls as he speaks to the moon,
A chilling howl that fills me with joy.
The future isn't set in stone. Even if it was, stones can been broken.

Avalona sat in the corner, rocking slightly. The fight kept replaying over and over in her mind, the faces of the men she had killed haunting her. She was exhausted, but every time she fell asleep, she found herself back in the pasture, the reek of blood all around her, the eyes of the dead staring at her accusingly.Comment

Kainis looked into the room. It had a bed, and that was all he needed. He turned to Avalona. "Thanks. If you don't mind, I think I'll get right to bed." He walked in, took off his scabbards and cloak, and flopped down on the bed. Suddenly, he felt slightly chilly. He took his cloak, and used it as a blanket, drifting off to sleep in nearly no time. Elliot stared at Joshua with his mouth open. He looked at Rose, then back at Joshua again. “Give me a second with him,” he said finally to Rose. He dragged Joshua down the hall until he was certain she wouldn’t be able to hear them. Then he turned to Joshua and said, “Fiancé. Really? I mean it was going to happen eventually but I don’t even have a ring!” He sighed and shook his head. “That definitely caught me off guard,” he muttered. “Well, never mind. Joshua shrugged at Elliot's slack-jawwed reaction. "She wasn't as satisfied with me as several girls are. I assumed that meant she truely was in love with you. And if she's truely in love, then you might as well be engaged." He shrugged again, then turned to look in Rose's direction. "I wanted to apologize for earlier. I know I get carried away when I flirt with girls and I'm sorry for flirting with Rose, especially now that I know she really is your girl, no matter what happened between you." Rin needed to think, the events of the previous days were begining to weigh on his mind. he turned to Avalola, "I'll be outside if you need me." emotoins rolled around him like a kalidoscope. (spelling?) he wasn't sure if he should be angry at the bandits, sad for his parents, or happy that the people here accepted him so quickly. The air was cool, but not chilly so. it embraced his bandaged leg with a soothing breeze.
He tried to sleep but then realized he was too shaken to do so. he focused on other things instead, he sorted out the good in his life from the bad, he looked to his future.Comment

Kainis struggled with his cloak in the bed. He twisted and turned, effectively tying himself up in it...
He looked down. He was out on the field, and the bodies of the dead were everywhere. The sky was red, the color of blood. There were three bodies around him. He blinked, and they changed. One was Rin, with an arrow in his chest. Blood soaked his tunic. He shook his head, trying to clear the hallucination. He turned. Another one was Avalona, with a stab wound in her stomach and a slash across her chest. He closed his eyes and grabbed his head, turning away. When he opened them, there was one last one. His brother, with an arrow in the neck. Blood had trickled out of his mouth. They all were laying there, with their lifeless eyes staring into nothingness. He ran, and tried to run, but then the bodies started to rise, and jump at him, pulling him in. They whispered things, in terrifying voices, like metal on metal. "Worthless..."
"Maniac..."
"Revenge..."
Kainis woke up, screaming. When he realized what he was doing, he stopped himself. It was still dark out, and he had no idea what time it was. He hoped he hadn't disturbed anyone. He untangled himself from his cloak, then started to breathe deeply. His heart pounded in his ears. He wouldn't be sleeping for a while. He put his head on his hands, and felt the sweat that covered his forehead.
