Elliot saw Joshua exit a room further down the hall. Then he heard Avalona’s voice coming from the kitchen and came to the conclusion that she had been out earlier. No wonder no one was answering the door. He left the hallway and joined the others in the kitchen. He placed his hand on Rose’s shoulder and greeted the others with a “good morning.” He looked over at Avalona. “Hey, you still want to come along with us to Kakariko?”

Elliot leaned back against the counter. "Yeah, I figured you'd say that. It's alright, I understand." He gave her a reassuring smile. "You just do what you have to do. Just remember that you're always welcome to our house, if just to rest for the night like you allowed for us. We owe it to you. Thank you again for letting us weather out the storm here."Comment

"Hey, I'm not that demanding!" Elliot insisted, feigning a hurt look as he stood up straighter. "I'm just looking out for you! Can't have my love going hungry, can I?" he added, giving Rose a nudge. "We'll eat at home if you prefer it, though." He nodded to Joshua and Avalona. "Looks like we'll be heading out now, then. Thank you again for your hospitality, Avalona." He hoisted his satchel onto his shoulder and waited for Rose to follow him out.Comment

Rin knew it was pretty late in the morning, but even though he was awake, he was still very, very tired. the fight of the previous day hadn't been of any help. the adrenaline rush had made him forget he was injured. now he knew the full extent of his actions. the scabs on his legs were reopened and he knew they would leave a deep scar, and he was sore all over. he wasn't sure If he could walk as pain shot like daggers all across his body when he tried to move.Comment

Kainis turned when he saw Rose and Elliot leaving. He called over to them. "Leaving already? Where are you going, anyway?"So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

Avalona smiled, chuckling softly. "Be safe, you two." She set a pot of water to heat for tea, then went to where a large pot of porridge was keeping warm over the fire and dished some up to take to Rin. She had the feeling he would be too sore to move around much, with his injuries. She set the bowl of porridge on a tray, then sliced up an apple onto a small plate and set that next to the porridge. She poured a mug of fresh milk to finish the tray, then carried it to Rin's room. She knocked on the door softly, not wanting to disturb him if he was still asleep.Comment

"We're off to Kakariko," Elliot called back to Kainis over his shoulder. "That is, we're going back home." He paused for a moment before bowing his head a little and continuing. "I'm...sorry again about last night. I hope everything turns out to be alright for you." He motioned for Rose to follow him out the door. Outside, the rain had finally stopped. It was a bright and clear, warm sunny day, a refreshing change from the gloomy day before. Elliot took Rose's hand and took a deep breath, ready for the trek back home. "Come on, baby, we're leaving." And they walked off into the sunrise.

Rin drowsily got out of bed, and put on his loosely weaved cotton shirt and pants over his undergarments. and put his usual chitin over it. he wasn't dressed for battle like Kainis, but for for farming and traveling lightly. Wait! he thought, The businesses our farm exported to don't know about... the accident. they'll be confused about why we didn't have father take the wheat over. he added a new note to his long checklist of life and strapped on his sack to meet up with the others in the living room.Comment

Avalona knocked again, then peeked into the room. "Rin? I brought you breakfast..." She saw he was up and dressed, and went in. "You really should be resting. Some of your wounds are pretty deep, and miss Lisa said they might get infected if you aren't careful."Comment
