rose looked away sadly, however she knew James only meant well "it's not right" she said "you shouldn't have to rescue me every time I get kidnapped by some creepy pedophile, it shouldn't be your job, I should be able to get my own way out"

(I'm debating making a sister for rose, should I do that, she might only be a tempory character though so I'm not sure)

Sephira rolled her eyes at Ea. Her animals weren't 'seemingly' lethal, they were lethal. Hadn't Ea seen Star tear out that man's throat? Midnight and Star weren't tame, they were just comfortable enough with humans that they treated them like any other animal. Sephira, as alpha, was the only one they listened to. She didn't say anything, though, as she didn't want to start another argument. Instead, she looked around for a place for them to camp, far enough from the Gerudo entrance to help Rose relax. She pointed one out to them, beneath a ridge so they would be sheltered from the sun and from sight. She didn't tell them that this was the same place where she had her first kiss. That would be between her and the ghost of her former lover.
Star realized what it was, though, and bumped the Stari gently. Everything will be all right, Sephira. James will treat you better than him.
"I know," Sephira murmered to her. "But his ghost will continue to haunt me." Louder, she said, "Rose, you might be able to escape, but not before he breaks you. It's much better for us to rescue you and get you out quickly, than for you to try escaping on your own."

(you can always do her as an NPC, and ditch her after we leave the desert. Then if you decide to use her more, you can make an actual app.)

Ea rolled her eyes. "Then again, what would you know? You'd much rather tame the animal and have it as a friend than use it." She looked around, seeing if there were any wild animals. They'd need food, and fresh food was always better.
So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

rose sighed, not argueing because she knew sephria was right. Ea was starting to get on her nerves, so she quickly turned and growled "why are you even here! no one likes you and frankly, you're a pain in the butt! you're mean and have no respect for anyone but yourself! worst of all you act like you actually have any idea of what everyone is like when really, you are CLUELESS!" rose took three deep breaths "wow, that felt good, I should let my temper go more often"

Sephira laid a hand on Rose. "Easy there," she murmered, as if she were soothing a wild animal. And in a sense, she was. Sephira was still hesitant around the Gerudo, unsure of what exactly had happened to make her forget, and then remember, her memories. She was also uneasy because of the girl's quicker temper. Rose had always been one of the more patient people in her recent life, and it was unsettling for her to be this mean.

Ea put up her hands. "Sorry, ok? When someone pretty much insults my mother I tend to get edgy, and besides, I can't do a total 180 in my point of view on a whim. The fact that people have animals as companions and DON'T think of them as a tool of survival is a foreign concept to me, frankly. I always thought if it's got meat, you can kill it and sell it."

Gerrard stood and absorbed his surroundings. The last time he was near this place he wasn't himself, he barely remembered those times. He knew he had the ability to use magic, but he wanted to wait until he found out how to control it before he tried to use it. As he looked around he was still curious about where exactly they were going, but he trusted he would be told eventually.

James looked at where Sephira pointed and smiled a little, because things were looking up apart from the constant bickering between the group. The bickering, it was painful to hear. When Elliot was alive he had always tried to maintain peace... He sighed, it didn't matter. The point was that the arguing was making him feel bad, so he suddenly spoke up. "Hey I'm going to see if I can find someone who sells string for Elwood's slingshot or something, be back later don't worry about me!" he rushed his words. Before they had time to answer he was already running away, hoping they wouldn't follow. He needed time on his own.

Sephira sighed and rubbed her temples. She was starting to get really tired of all the arguing. She was very much tempted to go after James, to get away from the two, but what she really wanted was to be alone herself. So instead, she asked Star to go after him. "Just make sure he stays safe," she said softly. The cheetah nodded and went after him. She stayed behind him, though, sensing he wanted to be alone with his thoughts.
Sephira turned to the bickering pair. "Rose, please calm down. I really don't have the patience to listen to any more arguing. Ea, I understand that you had a very different upbringing than I did, and I am sorry for insulting your mother. But will you please keep an open mind about my partners?"
Midnight, sensing Sephira's weariness, stopped playing with Elwood and moved to her side. He might not understand what the women were discussing, but he would back up his Alpha if she asked him to. Sephira knew this and reached down to pat him. Hopefully, the wolf wouldn't have to enforce her desire for peace, but he was more than willing to be the tool Ea said he should be.

                    • Ea threw up her hands. "Whatever. You can be all happy with your animals if you like. I won't kill them if they don't kill me." She sighed.

                      • "I'm perfectly clam" rose said, taking a deep breath "look, I'm not too proud to admit I'm scared, what if a gerudo sees me, they will try to take me back, but if you think it's the best way..... I trust you completly sephira. actually there was proably only one person I trusted more" a tear fell down her face at the memory of Elliot.

                        • Sephira blatantly ignored Ea's comment and focused on Rose. "I know, Rose. I think I might have a way to help hide you." She opened her pack and pulled out her cloak, the black one with silver stars on it. She handed it to Rose. "It'll be a bit long on you, but it will help keep you hidden from view." She understood Rose's fear, and she did not take the Gerudo's trust lightly. She knew she was the unofficial leader of this group. Anything that happened to anyone would be her fault. Especially to James she thought, glancing to where her boyfriend had vanished to. She trusted Star to keep him safe, but she still worried about him.

                          • rose nodded "I understand" she took hold of the cloak and wrapped it around her "thank you spehira" she smiled, pulling the cloak up to hide her hair and any other distinguishing features she could possibly hide. in her mind she knew only one gerudo would be able to recognize her, even with this one. for her safety rose hoped that one gerudo didn't happen to be on guard duty today.

(ooo. I wonder what rose means by "her" is she talking about herself or someone else)

                            • ( Yay for long emotional post most people won't understand :> )

James didn’t stop for a while. He had no idea how long he had been running, or how far he’d gone. He just wanted to run forever. However, it seemed like a certain tree had other plans for him. Besides running he had also been closing his eyes, so he did not see the root as he tried to step forward. His shoe got stuck and the direction he was going in took a sudden turn for the ground. He grunted as he pushed himself up with his hands. For some reason he decided to crawl towards the tree instead of standing up. When he was near enough he rested with his back against the trunk. He looked out over the field, still not sure where he was. He also had no idea that Star had been following him. But he didn’t care about either of those things. He was alone, or so he thought, and that was good enough for him.

He took a deep breath, and shifted his position a little. Once again, he heard the crunching of paper. Frowning, he pulled open his pack and looked inside for what could possibly be making said noise. After a few seconds he withdrew from the pack a folded piece of paper a little wrinkled around the edges. Why couldn’t he remember what it was? He quickly unfolded it and gasped as the memories came back to him.

I’ve always wanted to go to the sea!

It seemed like ages ago really, but he could remember every detail now.

It’s nice out tonight, isn’t it?

His eyes began stinging at the memory.

I wish we could have more days like this one. No fighting, no worries...just... This.

It didn’t seem like his wish had come true after all.

It’s a pictobox. It can take accurate pictures of real-life events happening right now.

Even now it hurt his chest, thinking about how carefree that day had been.

Yes, for the third time, I’m fine. You can stop babying me now.
                              Humor me.

Now all he wanted was to experience the babying again.

Tomorrow, we’ll probably be back to more action and fighting.
Maybe, but we’ll always have that picture to remember today.

The tears came, and fast. He hadn’t been emotionally prepared to see the picture. It was very simple, but it had such a deeper meaning. It clearly showed Elliot and James that day on the beach. Elliot hadn’t resisted the urge of attacking James just as the picture was taken, and that’s what it showed. Later Elliot had scribbled a “Happy Birthday” message on top. It had been James’ best birthday ever.
Number9:Every time you cry, the world heals itself just a little, so that you might not cry again.
The picture slipped from his hand and onto the floor as he cried. Elliot had been so much to him, and he was gone. It was true that he had tried very hard to keep control of his emotions and had apparently “moved on” as he thought Elliot would’ve wanted, but the picture shattered his calm. He couldn’t think straight. All he knew was that there was so much he wanted to tell Elliot, and no way to do so.
Suddenly he began rummaging his bag. He finally pulled out a small book in which he had previously written about his adventures. He flipped to a clean page and grabbed the piece of coal he had specially smoothed with a knife until it was ideal size that allowed for clean writing. Without further ado, he got to work.

While we was writing he began to cry even more. He remembered all the good times and the bad times. He put everything he was feeling into words. He even managed to smile a little as he remembered certain things. It took quite a while, so much that his hand began hurting before he was done. However, when he was done, he ripped the sheet from the notebook, put it down, sighed, and closed his eyes.
He didn’t open them until he felt a presence in front of him. It took some effort but he managed to make out who it was through the liquid blocking his eyes.
“What is it, Melody?” The words were raspy, broken between small gasps for air.
“Why do you cry again, James?” Her face was kind, soft, as if she was concerned for the boy.
“I can’t do it. I just can’t. I miss him too much. I need him. But, he’s gone, and there’s so much I hadn’t told him!” He looked at the paper by his feet.

Melody got closer and put her hand on his shoulder. “Hey, there’s no point in being frustrated. The past is the pas-” She realized James wasn’t really paying attention to her. She sighed, and decided she needed to say something meaningful to him. She weighed her options and finally spoke. “What if I told you there’s a way for you to get a message to him?”
His crying stopped, not completely, but considerably. “What do you mean?”
“There’s an ancient myth among ghosts. It says that if you write what you want to say in a piece of paper, then burn it while thinking about your lost one, they’ll get the message. I’m not sure if it works, but it’s all I can think of.” She didn’t say this was all made up by her in the last few seconds, but she didn’t think it would matter. James was already gaping at her. He slowly picked up the paper. Was it true? Could he really get this one, final message to his father?
                              It was worth a shot.

He held it up and looked it over. It wasn’t much, but it was all he could do. He closed his eyes again and thought hard of Elliot. Elliot laughing, Elliot angry. Elliot playing around. All the time he had spent with Elliot. When they had fought the first time Rose had been kidnapped. Then the lake. Then Elliot with Midnight. Elliot buying the house. The last time Elliot had fought for him. Waking up to Elliot...gone. It was hard but he managed to think of every last thing he remembered about Elliot. The last thing he thought of was that day at the beach. The last tear escaped his shut eye as Melody waved her hand over the paper. It caught fire, but not normal fire. It sort of glowed golden and as it left but the ashes of the paper no burn marks remained on James’ hands. The air came and swept the ashes up and away. James opened his eyes.

He didn’t say anything else to Melody. He didn’t have to, she understood. He grabbed his things and began walking in the direction he had come. He now knew exactly where he was and he knew how to get back. Before he was out of hearing range, Melody called out to him.

“This will be the last time I see you until and if you return, James. May you fare well in your travels.”

He didn’t stop, but she knew what he was thinking. She vanished.

All the way back James kept his head down in deep thought. As the cave came into sight he took a deep breath and tried to seem as if nothing had happened. He had never realized Star had been following him, and he didn’t now either. He hoped the message reached Elliot, somehow.
As he neared the others he finally stopped thinking about Elliot. He was ready to move on.

Gerrard stood there being quiet while he looked out towards the desert. Many thoughts were rushing through his head, one of them being the fact that the person that controlled him was not far from him; the person he now hated. He sat there for a minute before he had a idea, an idea that might just solve their problems. "Hey Sephira," Gerrard said, "I have an idea that might help us with getting past the Gerudo since it seems like you are wanting to go to the desert or at least around it. You see, when I was controlled I seem to remember that I was basically a commander so I could basically control the Gerudo and they had to obey me. I doubt they know that I have been freed from his control, so maybe just maybe I could bring you in and say you are prisoners or of some sort and we could get through. We could take the route that just skirts the edge of the fortress so we would have less of a chance encountering Ganondorf." Once Gerrard finished he took a breath releasing he had said most of this in one breath.
