"No problem," Inga giggled at the cat. She liked how it just did whatever it wanted. Kinda like Inga herself. Some people say Inga broke the sheikah mold. She often doesn't follow the usual sheikah traditions, but today was weird for her. She was just going along, following what a traditional sheikah would do. It was strange for her. She was sometimes known to be a thief or "the snake." She was really faking a personality for Donovan. Inga just felt like it was important for her to have a good, truthful relationship with Donovan. It seemed like he really had nobody to help him and spend time with him after Lyxa left him, besides maybe this Kaida girl. Inga hoped they would stick together in their adventures for a long time.
"I think I have something you two would appreciate before departing," Inga said to the duo, with a smirk. "We raise our own horses here, us sheikahs. I can... 'lend' you guys a couple of them if you're interested." Inga playfully winked at them. She didn't really mean to just 'lend' them the horses, she could just give them the horses. The other sheikah wouldn't really appreciate losing the two horses forever, but she assumed it would be best for Donovan and Kaida's safety. It's not like sheikahs ever actually lose horses, because they always end up right back in Kakariko after a travel. But this time, she guessed the horses would be gone for a long time. She knew that travelling on foot through Hyrule field was much more of a struggle than by horse, especially for a plain old Human. As for the panther, she wasn't sure if the cat would be able to catch up with galloping horses.

"Horses?" Kaida repeated, frowning. They were offered horses in Labrynna as well, and had almost gotten some, although they had left before they could. She hadn't been too disappointed, as she had never learned to ride properly. Oh, she had ridden horses before, but when you were running from someone or something on one, you simply jumped on and squeezed while making sure you didn't fall. Horses could certainly cut down the amount of time they spent, but Kaida wasn't sure she wanted to learn to ride one.
She glanced at Donovan. "What do you think?" It had been his idea to get one in the first place in Labrynna, after all. He had seemed to want one pretty badly, too. She could learn to ride if he wanted to get a horse, or she could even ride behind him. Zarola she wasn't so sure of, but she had always thought the black leopard was quick. Perhaps she could keep up with a horse. For a while, at any rate.

"Sounds cool to me," Donovan said, hoping to see the horses. The opportunity to get horses made him happier, even though he wasn't totally optimistic from before. He had wanted a horse for ages, and this was his second chance to get one. And getting a horse from Kakariko, his village of origin, would mean much more to him than getting one back in Labrynna. He felt like Kaida was doubtful to using the horses. Maybe she was worried about leaving Zarola behind or something. Or maybe, like Donovan, she had never ridden a horse before and was nervous. He assumed he could use his skill with animals to just get it to do whatever he wanted, though. He could surely keep Kaida's horse calm too, if they decided to ride them. "How about you?" He asked Kaida. Like usual, he wanted her to be able to do what she wanted. He always seemed to be wanting to please her. And he didn't mind it, because he liked her a lot and she was his best friend at this point.

Kaida grimaced. "If you really want to." She didn't want to confess how little she knew about horses and riding. If Donovan really wanted a horse, she'd pay attention and learn what she could. She could be a quick learner. If she applied herself to the task, of course. She could rarely learn things if she didn't put an effort into it, although she did pick some things up better that way for some strange reason. Observation and practice were how she learned the best. If she tried hard enough, she could learn simply through oral communication, but she preferred doing it herself, with someone supervising her to correct her when she was doing it wrong.
She stood. "Might as well go then," she said. Zarola lifted her head from her paws to watch the group, then lay back down. She'd probably join them later. Her nap was more important right now. Kaida shook her head at the panther. She was dearly wishing that the black leopard hadn't looked so pitiful when she had been shopping. She would have gotten something better suited for her job, like a hunting dog, or maybe even a wolf. Still, Zarola was a powerful animal. It was a matter of training her properly, not there was even the remote chance the panther would listen to any commands.

"Alright," Inga said, and she began leading the group to the stable. They left the house and walked down a dirt path leading to the stables, where four horses waited to be free. "I heard there aren't much horses in Termina." Inga said. At least that's what Lyxa had told her.
"Yeah," Donovan said. He took a long look at the horses, especially a gray one in the back. It reminded him so much of Lyxa's old horse he hadn't seen for nearly a decade, and when he focused on nothing but it's face, he felt like a kid in Ikana Valley. It was just like Lyxa's horse, except her horse was probably dead. They both had a deadish gray color instead of a shiny silver. Lyxa had given him a few lessons on horse riding, but he didn't take much out of it. The gray horse gave him the chills and he looked over at another one which had clean, shining black fur. He liked this one the most out of the whole group. He stared at it for a while, and it stared back. It was starting to look like a mental bond was forming. "Do you own one?" Donovan asked Inga.
"Well, we don't really personally own them," Inga answered him. "But I prefer this guy." She patted the head of a brown horse in the front of the stable. "These four are shared by all of the sheikahs. Some of us do own them, but the owned ones tend to stay by the owner's house. We have a lot more, just not here. So... do you guys like them?"
"Yeah, but I haven't really ridden one for a while," He said, trying to make himself sound as experienced as possible, while still showing that he had barely any experience on horses.
"I can help you guys out with that a bit." Inga told him. "Do you want to ride one in particular?"
"The black one is nice," Donovan told her. "You gonna try one, Kaida?" He asked her. She seemed a little uneasy about the horses. She probably had similar experience to him.

Kaida snorted quietly to herself as she listened to the two talking. There were horses in Termina, mostly at Romani Ranch with the cows, but there were still plenty. And it wasn't like she had seen very many since arriving here. She stayed back from the horses, though, admiring their beautiful coats and powerful bodies from a distance. The black and the bay horses were beautiful, as was the palimino. But it was the grey one that caught her attention. It was a dusky shade, making her think of ghosts. She liked ghost stories and while she knew there were Poes, fetching a high price if she caught one's essence, she often wondered if there were true ghosts as well. She wondered if the ghost horse was a mare or stallion; she doubted it would be a gelding.
She froze as Donovan asked her if she wanted to ride. She looked at the ghost horse, then shook her head. "Nah, I'd ride too fast. Never ridden a horse properly, so I'd rather not have to pay for any damage I did to them or whatever I trampled." She had learned a long time ago it was never wise to exaggerate her skills. Under-exaggerate, sure, it got more money when she accomplished the task. But exaggerating could land her more difficult tasks than she was capable of, and she had lost several clients as a result of that. Besides, she had ridden so many horses simply to get away, she wasn't sure she could convince her mind that she wasn't trying to do that by getting on one now.

"Okay," Donovan said. He felt a bit bad that Kaida didn't want to ride one, but he didn't show it. He was getting the feeling that they would end up not using the horses for their future travels. He didn't want Kaida to have to ride one if she didn't want to. He wasn't sure how much he would like riding one anyways. He assumed his animal trick worked on it, and he knew horses were a faster way of getting around. Although, you also had to maintain them and all that. He wasn't really sure what they usually ate--he thought it was just grass.
Inga opened the gate and brought the black horse to Donovan, putting a saddle on it's back. He didn't completely expect to keep it or anything, he just wanted to experiment a little. He took a few steps back and the horse followed him. "See, I have this little thing I can do with animals," He told Inga. He figured out how to get on pretty quickly and the horse didn't freak out at all, it stayed perfectly still. Donovan got it to walk around a bit, and at that point he pretty much could tell he had some control over it. "It's kinda weird but I've figured out how to control animals, over time."
"You sure ya don't want to give it a shot?" Inga asked Kaida. The girl really seemed to be avoiding riding a horse, and Inga could perfectly understand it. She was thrown over the front of her horse when she was a little kid trying it out for the first time. Now she had gotten a handle of it, she just wasn't amazing. "I don't think they're mankillers anymore," Inga teased as her playful attitude was trying to sneak in.
Donovan got off and let Inga take the horse back. He didn't want Kaida waiting for him for long. She didn't seem interested in even trying. "And I think my trick works on them," He assured her. "Nothing bad will happen." He realized he was starting to sound pushy and decided to give up on persuading her. He could deal with foot travel no problem Kaida didn't want to use horses.

(I know nothing about horses by the way lol)

(I know bits and pieces. If you go to this post, you can see some of how to prep a horse for riding, at least as best as I understand it. Beyond that, I don't know much, just that bays are brown horses, mares are female horses, males are stallions, and geldings are ones who've been neutered. Don't remember if they did that sort of thing back then, but I think so.)

Kaida laughed at Inga's observation. "Well, in that case, I think I will ride one." She pointed to the ghosty grey one. "What's that fella's name?" she asked Inga. She didn't know why she was so curious about him/her/it. She wasn't even sure if she wanted to try riding, she was just curious about the ghost horse. She did glance up at Donovan, recognizing his attempts to convince her to ride. She wouldn't mind riding a horse if he really wanted to get one. However, she suspected it might be better if they walked. Or maybe.... "Are these horses strong enough for two to ride them?" she asked Inga. "I've seen some couples do that in Clock Town."
Zarola chose then to trot up to the trio. The horses snorted uneasily as the large black cat approached, but she simply ignored them, chosing to plop down in a sunny patch near the stable fence. Kaida frowned at the panther. If Zarola made the horses uneasy, they'd be harder to control. And if they were harder to control, the mercenary was more likely to fall off. Still, she felt she would be alright. Just to be sure, though, she took off her breastplate and sword, so neither would get damaged.

"His name's Ash," Inga answered. "And the one Donovan was riding is Chadur. They're both stallions, and the bays are both mares." Inga said as she opened the gate. She had assumed that Kaida liked Ash the most, so she took him out of the stable, bringing him to Kaida. "He's our youngest guy here, but still in perfect shape for riding. I'm sure he can take two. Chadur is older, but probably our strongest horse." Chadur was the largest horse in the group, but Ash was close enough that you couldn't tell who was bigger at a glance. "They're all trained very well and we haven't had any issues with them." She noticed the horses get a little nervous when the panther arrived, but she didn't think it would do much to them. They had already dealt with quite a bit of creatures in earlier journeys.

Kaida nodded, not paying complete attention to what the Sheikah said as she stepped up to Ash. She patted his shoulder gently, then hesitantly gripped the saddle and heaved herself on. She was a little unbalanced, but she gripped tightly with her knees, one of the few things she did know to do. She glanced over at Donovan uneasily, then clucked her tongue at Ash. The stallion snorted and took a few steps, but he could sense her unease and refused to move further. Kaida muttered under her breath and tried again, getting the same result. "How do you get this blasted beast to move?" she demanded of Inga. Her angry tone, unfortunately, startled Ash, causing him to surge forward suddenly. Kaida nearly fell out of the saddle at the abruptness of the motion.

"Well, that's one way to do it!" Inga chuckled, watching Ash race off with Kaida. She kept talking even though she didn't think Kaida would hear her, as the poor girl was working to gain control of a dashing horse and all. "Don't worry, after riding the same horse for a while, you'll gain some chemistry." She didn't bother running up to help Kaida, because she knew Ash enough to know that he would calm down quickly enough that his rider wouldn't fall or anything. Of course there was a chance of the girl falling, but Inga had never seen Ash hurt anyone before. He was a rather calm, timid horse all together, and wasn't really the bossy type at all. She had seen some horses that practically owned the rider before being trained for riding.
Donovan watched as the ghost horse ran off with Kaida. It sure did look kinda spooky, galloping down Kakariko's dusty road, but he didn't think it's color would look too bad at night time, under the moonlight. As for that black horse, he liked it the most and thought it had the perfect color. He liked it's dark, low profile fur and it was a little like Donovan, in his dark, visibly invisible way. He wanted to try making Kaida's ride a little more enjoyable by taming Ash a bit, but he was probably too busy to calm down at all.

Kaida muttered obscenities at the unhelpful Inga as she struggled to keep her seat. "Slow down you Giant-curse, storm-blasted horse!" she growled at Ash. The stallion did slow down, eventually coming to a complete stop. Of course, it was right then that Kaida fell off. Sitting like a sack of potatos didn't give one the balance one needed to remain on the horse throughout the whole ride. The huntress stood up, rubbing her side as she grumbled curses under her breath. "Stubborn beast, ain't you," she murmured to the stallion. "I like him," she called over to Inga and Donovan as she took the reins and led the ghost horse to the two. Zarola rumbled deep in her throat, and Kaida could have sworn it sounded like laughter.

"Woah," Donovan mumbled as he watched Kaida fall off the horse after it slowed down. He started to run over to help her, but soon stopped as he saw her get up fine. He was pretty surprised to hear her say she liked Ash, after her wild ride. He couldn't be sure if what he had seen was normal for a person's first ride on a horse, because he cheated, in a way. He was sure Kaida was capable of training the horse for herself, though.
"Well, do ya wanna keep him?" Inga asked. Like before, she wouldn't mind giving away two of the horses. They had many more left, outside the stable.

Kaida frowned at the ghost horse, rubbing its shoulder. Owning a horse would certainly make it easier to get from place to place. It would be a bit of a pain, though, since she often had jobs that required foot work or hiding. A horse could also eat a lot of food, although she supposed she might be able to stable it somewhere in Termina Field.
At least a horse would be a better companion than Zarola. The panther had laid her head back down and snoozed in the sun. She didn't really care if Kaida was there or not. She didn't care what happened at all, really. Kaida was surprised the panther was even still with them. And being of the feline nature, she would be next to impossible to train.
Ash, on the other hand, could be trained. She thought she knew a man who could train horses; even if he didn't, he was the kind of man who would. She'd have to find one who didn't torment, starve, or beat the animal into submission, of course. Ash was too proud a stallion to ever be brought down that low. She'd have to steal or buy some tack for him, and of course learn how to properly take care of a horse.
Kaida looked over at Inga. "Yes," she replied, her voice firm to show she was firmly decided now. "You'll have to teach me how to take care of him, and perhaps give me some his tack, but yes, I'd like to keep him."

Donovan raised his eyebrows in surprise when Kaida said she would accept Ash. It was unusual enough that she liked him, and even rarer that she would keep him. He realized that as she said, it would be extra work to keep a horse in good health, but he liked the idea enough to del with that, and it seemed like Kaida was okay with it too.
"Oh, no problem," Inga replied to Kaida. "We have everything you need here." She turned to Donovan, making sure he was going to take Chadur with him. "And you're taking ol' Chadur?"
"Yep," Donovan said with a smile. He considered only taking one horse for him and Kaida to share because they would only need half as much food and supplies, but if they ever did part ways, they would probably want their own horses.
"Alright, one second." Inga scurried into the stable and opened up Chadur and Ash's designated chests, gathering up all the tack they would need--riding equipment, ropes, grooming supplies, bandages. She stuffed it all in bags and brought everything back to the duo, tying each of the horses' stuff to their saddles. "Well, here's everything... for food, they really seem to like carrots and other plants, but if worse comes to worse, they can take care of themselves."
"Thanks a lot," Donovan said. He was aching to just get on Chadur and leave, but he couldn't do it quite yet. He thought Inga was a good friend, and almost motherly even though she was his age and they had only known each other for a day. Well, he had only known her for a day. She had known him much longer than that.
"Anything else?" Inga asked them. "You guys thinking of heading out soon?"
