(Nah, it’s just that I had 2 big assignments due today ;)
Sorry about length lol)
“Okay,” Inga said. She thought about the legend a bit, and relived the first time she had heard the legend from her mother, back when she was just a child. She had heard the legend many times after that, and it had been permanently planted in her mind, like it has to lots of other Hylians of many generations. She very rarely told it to people, though. It just made her feel old, which was a feeling she didn’t like one bit. She wanted to remain young for eternity and always had to remind herself of how young she really still was. This was only the second time she had ever told anyone. The first time was when she had told her student, as she was expected to, though the boy had probably already heard it. She assumed that since Kaida wasn’t familiar with it, and Donovan was also from Termina, that they would both be completely new to the story. She got a bit worried that she would make them think differently about any religions they already had, or that they would be offended. But Kaida sounded curious, so Inga told the legend.
“So they say, that before anything existed at all--no life, no spirits, no anything--Hyrule was just a big, fiery cloud of chaos. At this time of chaos, three golden goddesses came down and fixed it all up so we could be here today. They were Din, the goddess of power, Nayru, the goddess of wisdom, and Farore for courage. To start out, Din used her power to shape the land we live on today. The whole world, pretty much. At that point it was all red and barren, still lifeless. Then Nayru came in, and added all the law to the world, and a blue sky covered the land. The third and last of them, Farore, added to the world all the life we know today. Every plant and creature as well as ourselves. Every blade of grass. After creating Hyrule...”
Inga’s voice trailed off as she looked out into the heavens she was planning on mentioning next. A giant bird glided towards them, with huge wings, and a monstrous beak and all that bird stuff. It seemed to be coming from the desert, which made her feel uneasy. She had never seen anything like it, and Inga knew that usually when you saw a big animal you’ve never seen before, it wasn’t a good thing. It was pretty far away at the moment, but Inga could make out multiple bright, trailing feathers flowing behind the bird like some type of tails, and it’s head had some feathers that looked somewhat like a crown. She thought it actually looked a bit pretty, but she expected that it was going to kill them. These were the kind of creatures that made Inga wonder what the heck Farore was thinking when she put the the thing in Hyrule. Maybe if there were enough of them in Hyrule, they could just reduce the whole world back to the chaos it started out as. After gazing at the creature for a while, Inga realized that she cut off the rest of what she was telling Donovan and Kaida, but knew that she shouldn’t finish it either. As bird got closer and closer, it looked more evil, but more beautiful at the same time.
“Do you see that thing?” Donovan said to break the silence. He had been listening to the legend of Hyrule’s creation, and actually found it pretty interesting until Inga stopped mid-sentence. He tried to find what made her be quiet until he saw it, a silhouette gliding in front of the sun. He wasn’t sure what these birds meant in Hyrule, but he was sure that he had never seen one before at all, and from Inga’s awe he guessed that it didn’t mean anything good. He thought he could see a mask on the bird’s face, which made it look like it had been sent to fight them. Then he was reminded of Ganondorf, and suddenly felt like he was going to puke. He wasn’t sure if the goddesses Inga had told him about were real, but he prayed to them in case they were, with hopes that the bird would simply fly over them.
