  • With a nasty look on Naroh's face he turns to Malina and said, "I cannt believe I'm goind to say this, but the she has a good point Kairu. But if we go this way we have to start packing and get moving ASAP."

    • As the others talked, Drake noticed something off the distance. It was a man, holding a bag over his shoulder. He had blonde hair, was wearing a gray tunic. As he got closer, Drake noticed he had a sword on his side. Drake didn't react, however, because the man looked friendly.

"Hello there, campers!" The man said, near to the group. "You look like you're lazy and have nothing to do, which makes you perfect for a favor I need that could probably benefit all of us!" The man was now two feet away. Drake saw that his eyes were green, and he had seen green eyed people before, but this was different. There was something different about this man.

"Umm....who are you, exactly?" Drake asked, obviously curious.

"First non-intelligent question of the day! It is ridiculous you don't know who I am! I am Luther of the Clinton family, a fine line of warriors and merchants! Anybody who disagreed is already dead, so don't make me kill you as well!"

Drake became more puzzled. Luther was threatening him, but he was so upbeat and cheery about it.

"So...are you going to kill me?" Drake asked.

Luther laughed for about 10 seconds before calming down. "Kill you? Well, unless you're a sack of crap, I won't kill you. However, you seem a bit naive for my taste, so maybe I'll require a finger."

The statement confused Drake even more, and then remembered that Luther needed help with something.

"What did you need help with again, Luther?

"Oh, look! He's calling me by name! Well, do you see that not so fine castle and town? That used to be a great place! Now, some evil has taken it, and I can't save it on my own. So, how about you help me?"

This wasn't as confusing, though Drake was afraid of Luther's reaction to what he was about to say.

"Ok....well, I'm sorry, sir, but we actually have some business of our own to attend to, so we can help you with that."

Luther frowned and became frustrated. "Ooooh, I knew you were naive and stupid! How about you guys? You must be more sensible! Can't be as dumb as this guy here!"

Drake saw the other group react negatively to that statement, but shook his head, telling them to not focus on Luther calling him stupid.

      • Kairu and Leo traded glances at each other. The both kept their hands on their blades, ready to defend the group if needed. After being addressed, Kairu stepped forward. "This dumb guy is part of my group. If you have any senses yourself you will show respect." Kairu made sure Luther could see that his blade would be readied at any moment. "We really do have business to take care of." Kairu didn't want to fight, but if the man instigated his intellect or so much as mention that he had no ties to Castle Town, he would slice out the man's tongue.

        • Luther appeared more annoyed at Kairu's gesture of making sure he noticed the sword, so he was about to do the same when his face quickly changed expression and his hand moved back to where it was. As Drake looked at him, he felt something different. That weird feeling that something was wrong with him was gone. It was calm, and partially soothing. Something had changed. Luther looked around, and took a few steps back very slowly, like he was trying to get a second look at the camp.

"I am so, so, sorry. I usually don't let him introduce us." Like most things Luther said, this puzzled Drake.

"What? What do you mean you don't let him introduce you?" Luther slowly made eye contact with Drake.

"We saw your expression as we approached. You're good at getting a sense of who a stranger is. You felt his presence, not mine."

"You are confusing me. What are you saying?"

"Well, I don't blame you if you don't believe me, because most people don't, but for as long as I can remember, there's been...two people, inside of my head. One is me. I'm the good guy. I'm the one who reasons, the guy who makes friends, the guy who helps people in need. The one you just met is the guy who argues, the guy who gets upset when people disagree with him or things don't go away, the guy who would kill without a second thought, even if the victim was just annoying him. But we're both Luther Clinton. Not even we know why we exist."

The idea was crazy, and of course, a bit confusing, but for some reason, Drake believed it.

"Ok, so if he's inside your head...what's he saying right now? And how can you focus on what's going on around you if he's constantly talking?"

"Well, he isn't talking all of the time, but he talks a lot. I used to have problems with focusing, but after 25 years, I've learned to manage. He's telling me I should cut off all your fingers, and I should kill the guy who made a passive aggressive gesture towards us." Luther made eye contact with Kairu. "By the way, thanks for the distraction, but if I hadn't snatched control, you would've already made your first mistake by revealing you had your sword ready. If you had surprised him by not showing you had your sword ready until he striked, then you would've had that little element of surprise. But at the same time, it was a good move, showing him you were prepared. It's really a matter of opinion on what you do in those kinds of situations, but knowing him, it would've have been better to surprise him."

Drake continued to be more puzzled by this man. The person now talking was so different from the man who approached the camp that Drake was 100% sure he was telling the truth.

"Anyways, I do really need that favor. In fact, it could probably benefit the whole continent if we get rid of whoever's in control, seeing as they might try to advance on the other nations. Is this favor really important?"

"Well, it's kind of a long story, but..." Drake looked at the others. "Should we tell him?"

(By the way, Drake's thing with "getting a sense of who a stranger is" isn't magic or anything, it's just an interesting skill that I'd thought I throw in there to help show how different the two Luthers seem.)

          • Malina was a bit surprised to see the young man walk up to their group, even more so when she realized no one else seemed to have notice his arrival. Or maybe they had and she was just too tired to have noticed they had noticed him. His attitude left something to be desired. There was no reason to be treating Drake like that. He was just confused about the sudden appearance as much as she was, and at the direct manner this Luther had taken.
However, it did become clear pretty quickly why he was so bold. The castle town that Kairu had left earlier had been Luther's home too, only instead of mourning it as a lost cause like Kairu had, Luther wanted to fight for it. He had a rather unusual way of asking for help, though. Kairu apparently agreed, as did Leo. Both had weapons ready, prepared to defend the group with arms as Kairu defended Drake to Luther.
Then, abruptly, Luther changed. Not physically, except his angrier features softened and his eyes seemed to take on a more cheerful sparkle. He explained that he was really two people, a good person and a bad in the same body. It was mind-boggling, and she wondered how it came about. She wondered if she'd be able to find out if she talked with him long enough. "Maybe we should help out, Kairu," she said. "After all, Termina's not going anywhere, and we're just trying to avoid my father's troops anyways. And if what took over Castle Town really is so bad that it will eventually affect Labrynna too, we should probably do something now, before it gains strength."
Phillipians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

            • Kairu looked at everyone and at Malina who sided with the stranger. The group looked at Castle Town where a dark aura was traded and replaced Ganondorf's dome. Leo then stepped forward to talk to Luther. "What exactly has happened. I don't remember that black fog being there minutes ago."

              • Luther looked at Castle Town and saw the black fog as well. His reaction, as Leo could probably see, did not indicate this was a good thing.

"I do not know, but I'm getting a very, very bad vibe just by looking at it. Something's wrong. Earlier, it felt dark, but this....it's evil, and twisted. The other guy is saying it's this one thing, but that's not possible."

Drake looked at Luther. "Ok, you can't just say he is telling you it's one thing, and then not tell us. I mean, I shouldn't be judging you on what is socially acceptable or not, but I'm pretty sure..."

"I understand what you're saying. Well...there's this history book in the house I grew up in, but it also tells legends of the different time periods. The chapters were by Eras of Hyrule. In each era, there a legend of a great evil who would return each era, and successfully rose to power each era until he was defeated in the Third Era. But it can't be it...it died, a long time ago."

                Drake disagreed with Luther.
"Well, it would make sense, right? If it came back every era, why not this time?" Luther was not convinced.

"I don't know...even if it was him, the book didn't make him sound this powerful...well, whatever has changed, I'm suspecting we'll need more people."

                • "Dad, I think this guy may have a point. In my... 'dreams'," Leo said air quoting the word 'dreams', "This never happened. Ganondorf should have taken over and then someone from the Forest would come and slay the Evil King. I've never heard about this... black fog, mist, cloud thing." Leo then turned to Luther. "Do you know what's happening in Castle Town? We were there not too long ago and the survivors seemed to have been gathering to help rebuild. Is it just a harmless trick or is something actually going on?"

                  • (This was posted from my iPad, so there may be a few mistakes)
Luther had a sad look on his face when Leo mentioned survivors.

"I don't know what is happening, but if it is the great evil from long ago...they're dead, or worse." It was clear that Luther was was disturbed. Drake seemed disturbed as well.

"Worse than death? What could be worse than death? Drake asked, not being able to think of what could be worse than death.

"This evil can.....well, turn the alive and the dead into the undead. And before it was explained to me, I thought it was a good thing, because it sounded like it made the targets immortal. But it doesn't. It is far from being good in any way shape or form. They are brought back as mindless creatures, who hunger for human flesh and thirst for human blood. They are said to scream in such a way that paralyzes its target, then jump on them and begin their feast. And that's only one of the possibilities. The other one is that they may be living in conditions no Hylian should have to, and eventually are tortured to death or sacrificed, which sometimes has the people who sacrifice the victims eating them. It's sick." Drake was clearly disgusted about what he was just told, so he didn't ask any more questions and kept his mouth shut.

"Sound like Hell but at the some time sounds fun"

As he walked away from the map the join up with the group he was still on edge with the newcomer and kept his hand on his sword just in case something was to go down.

"As a member, excuses me, as a former member of the Hyrule Army I still take my orders from Kairu so in my opinion what Kairu says goes!"

It is at this point Naroh placed his hand upon Kairu's shoulder and nodded at him as friend and leader.

"You ask me these questions as if I'll eventually give you an answer that we can formulate a plan off of. Truth is, I don't know. I'm just a man who read a book that may have given information on whoever's controlling Castle Town even though it isn't hundred percent confirmed. I'm sorry, but there's nothing beyond what I've told you that I can tell you." Drake looked distressed upon hearing this statement, as he had expected Luther to know.

"Well, what do we do? It doesn't look like we'll be able to save Hyrule. Maybe we should just head to Termina like we planned." This seemed to cheer Luther up a bit.

"Maybe on our journey, we will enlist more help and gain more knowledge about this evil that may be controlling Castle Town. I'd be glad to come along, if you want me to." Drake nodded, implying that he approved of Luther coming, but looked towards the others for the final decision.

Now we've picked up three more, and now you too. You'll be expected to help buying or hunting for more and for group survival."

Leo then interjected before Kairu could make himself look like a jerk again, "Just pull your own weight."

Kairu gave a cross look at Leo, knowing what why he just cut him off. "And any funny business and we'll have problems. Other than that, you'll get my approval. Ladies?" Kairu said, addressing both Ryli and Malina on their opinions.

                            • Malina listened quietly with interest. Whatever it was that had taken over Castle Town, Leo didn't know it from his timeline. It wasn't Ganondorf but something even more powerful. What could possibly have been able to do that? And if Luther was right and it was something older than Hyrule itself, they would be in trouble. Leading an army of the undead too. Malina couldn't help but want that kind of power for herself. Her book with its potions and simple magic tricks wouldn't make her as powerful as she wanted. She'd need to be strong if she was going to take Labrynna back. She wondered if she might be able to learn how to do what this creature could, to take control of the living dead.
She glanced up as she heard Kairu talking to her and Ryli. "Long as he pulls his weight," she said, smiling at Luther. She was also curious about his two persons. Was it possible to create something like that? Was it a curse that had been cast on him? And what triggered the switch? The first Luther had been surly, angry, and very aggressive. This one was more depressed than angry, and seemed to be more patient and knowledgeable than his counter-part. Did that have something to do with it? His emotions, like Ryli's fire and ice were triggered by hers? She made a note to buy a blank book, pen and ink when they reached a market so she could study up on it properly. She'd avoid actually triggering the changes if she could, but she wanted to know what made him, both of them, tick.
