  • Luther was about to answer, but Drake talked first.

"I don't know if there's much we can do to stop it, unless someone knows how to cast a spell of some sort to get rid of it or if someone has an ancient artifact that counters the dark magic. I suggest we move on." Luther nodded.

"He has a good point. It doesn't look like any of us can cast a spell to get rid of it, and it doesn't seem like we have a artifact from the gods, so it would be best to move on. There is a chance that wherever we're going might have information on this evil somewhere."

Luther and Drake felt very strange at this point, realizing that they were in agreement a lot, even though they had just met a few minutes ago. Drake figured it might be because they had both been met with a not so warm welcome, then continued to be disliked by Kairu.

And that was another thing. Kairu seemed hostile to the people who hadn't been a part of the original trio because they seemed like threats to him, even though they hadn't done anything. Now, granted, there was some reason behind it, but then Kairu seemed to continue to despise those people even though the others seemed to accept them. Drake was hoping Kairu would lighten up soon, but he doubted it.

    • Malina opened her spell book and started rifling through it. "I doubt we could find some magic trinket or anything that'll stop this person. If he really is as old as the world, he'll have learned by now to keep whatever his one weakness is guarded by some powerful monsters or something. Probably at the end of a dungeon that you'd have to go through other dungeons in order to access. We'll have to find out how he was defeated before, if he's even let any of those books survive. I know Labrynna had a good sized library, but as long as we're outlaws, we can't go there. Hyrule only has Kakariko Village and Hyrule Castle Town; the former is too small to likely have many books if any, the latter is, well, you can see. Holodrum will think us enemies if they realize we're from Labrynna." She looked up with a small frown. "Well, only Drake and I are from Labrynna. The rest of you are Hylians. You might be able to get in and find some decent collection to locate some information about this person. Otherwise, our only option is Termina, and I'm not holding my breath over the chances of them having something. The country's mostly kept to themselves, so I'm not sure if they have much information about anything other than Terminian things, not Hyrulian." She closed her book, leaving it on her lap. "If we do go to Termina, though, that leaves us with our original question, how to get there? Snowpeak or Gerudo Desert?"

      • "I would first take our chances in Termina instead of Holodrum. Getting there, I'm still in favor of going through the desert." Leo stood by keeping to himself believing that his opinion was already stated and didn't need repeating.

        • "Yeah, the desert will probably be the best way to Termina." Luther said, knowing that Snowhead was likely to be more difficult.

"Traveling the desert is most likely better than going through mountains and snow, so yeah, the desert. Drake said.

          • Naroh nodded his head "Dessert, plus by traveling through it we would be less noticeable." After he cast his vote he walked over to Kairu and asked "Can we truly trust this guy?" And with a childish look he asked if he could have his bow back for this adventure.

            • Malina nodded, and stood. "The desert it is then. We might have to restock on supplies before going through it; who knows how long we'll be going through it." She put her book back in her pack, then went to get the horses from their pickets and saddle them up. "Since there's more than three of us, we'll have walk and lead the horses. Wouldn't be very smart to take them all into the desert either, they'd sap our water reserves. Maybe keep one to carry the supplies though?" She rubbed Zylan's nose, hoping she wouldn't have to say good-bye to the stallion yet.

              • "That's your call Malina. They belong to you and your family. We'll stock up at the Gerudo settlement before entering the desert." Kairu said informatively and as though he were in charge of the group, despite there not being any real group leader.

"That's if anyone's left and didn't leave to fight Ganondorf's war." Leo retorted bringing up the fact that the Gerudo were the first to capture Hyrule Castle. Leo's comment stung Kairu a little bit. He felt sorrow if Ryli was truly one of the last Gerudos in Hyrule, illegitimate daughter of a dead King.

                • "Would bringing the horses be the best idea, though?" Luther asked. "We have to predict how much water and food we'll have access to. We may not have enough. Just keep that in mind while making the decision." Luther understood from what Kairu said that the horses were Malina's, so it was ultimately her decision.

Drake decided to say nothing, as anything he could say would be repetitive.

                  • Malina sighed, continuing to rub Zylan's nose. The horse snorted and shook his head, causing her to smile. She wanted to keep him, but Luther was right. Horses had vast appetites, and keeping even one when they went through the desert would be hard. Besides, he had been bred from Labrynna horses, easily recognized if spotted by anyone from her home country. She might be able to hide her nationality, but Zylan couldn't. She had to sell him with the others. She sighed, then mounted him. "We should get going either way. I'm going to take Zylan ahead for a bit, he needs a good gallop." She patted his neck, then nudged his sides with her heels. He shot forward in an instant, leaving a cloud of dust where he had been as he cantered on.
