    Kaida shrugged. She supposed a horse could be handy. It could carry supplies as needed, and help her drag those she captured back. However, she had been dealing with that sort of thing for close to ten years now. She didn't need a horse. She glanced at the two Donovan pointed out. "So they do," she said simply, competely disinterested.

    Malina glanced back at the two. "Everything alright back there?" she asked. They were being awfully quiet and secretive. Something must be up.

      "Yep," Donovan smiled to the girl. "Just chatting. It so.. different here." They were getting really close to the Palace, and Donovan felt like he was being dragged by Lady Malina, as Kaida had said earlier. He feared the Lady would lock them up in a cell or something. Why else would she be so willing to take them to the palace?

        Malina smiled. "Yeah, it must be. I heard Termina is dark and dismal. Is it really? I've never known anything but light, airy Labrynna."

        Kaida muttered, "That's because your head is light and airy."

        As they entered the palace, Malina dismounted and handed Zylan's reins to a waiting groom. "Come on, the kitchen is this way." She lead the way in, waving and calling hellos to passing people.

          "It's not too bad," Donovan told Malina. "We just have monsters roaming all around, so everyone is cooped up in Clocktown. Everyone likes it there though. Not too big a town, and that's how everyone likes it. Way different than here, or in that Hyrule place. No cities in Termina. But outside the town it's pretty bad. To the north you got the Snowhead mountains, the west has the Great Bay, the south has the Woodfall Swamp, and in the east is... Ikana." He hated saying the name, after living there for 12 years, alone with his Sheikah mentor. "Monsters in all four places, but for some reason I'm pretty good with the fellas. Everyone else hates them though, and they think that's what makes Termina so bad. I suppose they could be a bit less agressive, but hey, a wooden, man-built town got plotted down in the center of their field. The legend of Majora's Mask also screwed the place up pretty bad. Everyone fears that something similar will happen again. And, as it's a tiny civilization, we can easily be invaded." He looked behind him, and all he could see was city. "Theres a pretty big field out there. Got any monsters in Labrynna?"

            Malina's eye grew round. "You have monsters in Termina? What kind of monsters? Do they hurt you? And what is Majora's Mask? Is it powerful? Has it ever been found?"

            Kaida sighed as countless other questions poured from the girl's mouth. "Yes, we have monsters," she cut in, interrupting the flow. "We have all kind of monsters. Yes, they hurt us if we anger them, which most people do. Majora's Mask is a demon-possed mask that attempted to bring the moon down and destroy all of Termina. So yes, it has been found. Now where is this kitchen? I am hungry."

            Malina pouted a little. "Nothing wrong with being curious," she muttered as she opened the door to the kitchen.

              Donovan followed the girls into the palace's kitchen. It was pretty big, for a kitchen. But not for a palace kitchen. His stomach grumbled as he realized he was also pretty hungry. "So, we're gonna eat, and then leave?" He whispered to Kaida.

                Malina waved down a passing servent. "Prepare some food for me and my friends," she ordered.
                "As you wish, Your Highness," said the servent, bowing, then turned and ran back into the kitchen, calling for the head chef.

                Kaida shrugged. "Up to you," she whispered back. "I'd like to see if this place has a map we can take, and I wouldn't mind one night on a decent bed before we head out. If you don't want to stay though, I'd be perfectly fine with leaving." She shot a glare at Malina as she ordered the servents to prepare a room for the two.

                  As much as he hated being in the royal palace, Donovan had to admit, a normal bed for a night didn't sound too bad. It would be one of the only times he had ever slept in a bed. And he had never considered getting a map, but agreed with Kaida. "Yeah, if they're already getting us a room, I guess better take advantage for a night." He quietly told Kaida. "And there might be a few more things we'll be taking out of here before we leave." He thought they might grab some food before they left, or snatch something that looked expensive to make some rupees. Donovan was no robber, but he could tell, there was way too much gold in the palace, he couldn't leave without using it to make him a bit less poorer.

                    Kaida nodded. Unknown to either of her campanions, she had been documenting all the artifacts they had passed. Going through so many houses of rich people had given Kaida an eye for luxary, and she could fairly accurately guess the worth of items. And this place was a giant treasure trove, waiting to be robbed. The only trouble was all the guards. She'd have to be careful the trinkets she'd take, if she decided she really needed any. The only real problem with leaving soon was the worry that Malina would tag along behind them. It was obvious that the girl had taken to Donovan, despite the fact that he was at least five years her elder. Kaida glanced sideways at the man. Truth be told, she thought she was also developing feelings for the man, despite being... at least five years his elder. The thought made her lips twitch in a half-smile and she focused her attention on the servents bringing trays towards them.

                    Malina grinned as the servents brought food, completely oblivious to the whispering behind her. She thanked them, then lead the whole group to the dining hall. The servents served the food, then left as Malina dismissed them. She sat to the right of the head of the table, leaving the head seat open as habit when her father was there. She started in on her food and asked Donovan, "So how long do you think you'll be here?"

                      Donovan felt weird eating at a table. Sometimes he ate with Kotake and Kuome, and there were occasional dinners with all of the few Woodfallers to keep the community together, but before that, he had never eaten at a table for as long as he could remember. He focused to keep good manners and not eat like the wild boy he was. "We think we'll be heading out tomorrow morning." Donovan answered to Malina. "I guess you could say we're, uhm... travelers." He looked at Kaida for her approval. "Travelers" seemed just right.

                        Kaida sighed as the food was set. She prefered to eat outside on her own, but she knew how to be polite. After all, many of the jobs she had recieved were over meals. She glanced up at Donovan and smiled. Explorers might be a better term, but the word might appeal to this princess, and she had no interest in having the girl come along.

                        Malina frowned. "So soon? You can't see all the sights of Lynna City in one afternoon. The Black Tower alone will take that long. Oh, there is just so much you need to see!" She was bouncing in her seat now, blabbering about all the different things she could show him, while Kaida rolled her eyes and kept her focus on her food.

                          "In Lynna City? There's gotta be more than that." Donovan said as he stabbed some food. "I'm just interested in seeing what the outside country looks like... I want to explore all the natural world has to offer here--mountains, lakes, forests... Labrynna's gotta have those. But..." He looked at Kaida. "I suppose I'll do anything you want to do."

                            Malinna's eyes widened. "Anything I want?" she asked. She pursed her lips in consideration. "Well, the first thing I'd like is to show you the horses, see if you like one. After that..." She trailed off, thinking hard. "There's a few things around here that might interest you, if you're looking for natural things. There's Rolling Ridge, and the Taulus Peak. Oh, and you must see Fairies' Woods! It is amazing! It's a lot like the Hylian Lost Woods, only different." She went on again, explaining how the two forests were different.

                            Kaida cut into the girl's ramblings. "He wasn't talking to you. He was talking to me, you self-centered girl." Malina stared at her. "And I'd much rather be gone by tomorrow. I am an out-door woman, so I feel much more comfortable with the sun on my face and the wind at my back."

                            "So I'll show you things outside," Malina said. She was a little annoyed with Kaida's interruption and attitude in gerneral. The woman seemed to think there was nothing special about her, even though she was special. She was the daughter of the ruler of Labrynna. If she ordered it, this wild woman could be imprisoned or executed.

                              "I think we'll prefer seeing things on our own, if thats okay," Donovan told Malina. He felt like a pulsing bomb about to explode. He was sick of the Lady too early. He had always thought of Princesses and Ladies as much more mature. What did she find so interesting about two wilders like him and Kaida anyways? "We're pretty independent. And we aren't touring the land. We just like... live in it. Having stone walls around us is boring. You should try camping sometime, when your old enough. If your parents let you." It was one of the only ways Donovan felt sympathetic for royal children; their parents seemed to not let them do anything at all, let alone go outside to the wilderness. Donovan wondered if Malina liked being so controlled. What a shame that would be. But he had to admit, the food was pretty good. Almost too good. His plate was just about empty.

                                Malina frowned. "I'm sixteen. I don't need my parents permission. But isn't it weird not living inside? I'd be terrified out of my wits, especially if there were wild animals on the loose." She shivered.

                                Kaida, finally sick of the girl's attitude, shoved her chair back and stood. "Excuse me, my Lady," she said, remembering at the last minute her manners. Then she strode out the door and into the courtyard, looking for the practice field. She needed to let out some steam."

                                Malina stared after her. "If you two normally sleep outside, why would sleeping in a swamp make her so tense?" she asked Donovan.
