  • Kairu smiled at Malina, "Well I guess it's just me, but the image of seeing you in my clothes brightens my day. However, I'll go and get Ryli now and so you can change into the temporary ones without me standing here and looking. I know how uncomfortable you get, Princess. I'll be in the stables with Ryli in one hour." Kairu walked out of the room completely shutting the door behind him, the "click" echoing through the empty corridor. He did his best to impersonate a soldier, the keys obscured around the hilt of his sword. Adriel came walking towards Kairu.

Adriel: "Soldier, where do you think you're going?"

Kairu did his best to deepen his voice and not sound like himself. "I'm going to the dungeons to report for the shift change of the Gerudo spy." Kairu's mind winced at the thought of sounding like he believed what he just said.

Adriel: "Very well. No one is allowed to see her without me being there with them. Is that understood, Soldier?" Adriel squinted his eyes thinking something was unfamiliar with Kairu's disguise. The helmet hiding most of his features. "What's your name trooper?"

    Kairu: "Uhhh... Sir?"

Adriel: "Your name. What is it?"

    Kairu: "Uhh... Ryku, Milord."

Adriel: "What's wrong with you? Did you forget your own name?"

Kairu: "No Sir, it's just overwhelming to finally meet you in person, Sir."

Adriel: "You must be new then. I make it a point to introduce myself personally to the new recruits. It's a pleasure to having you serving Labrynna, Soldier. Carry on."

Adriel extended his hand for a shake and Kairu followed. The two men shook and Adriel's mind thought it figured out why there was something out of place. He shook it off though.

Kairu made his way to the dungeons and saw the soldier standing in front of the isolated cell.

Guard: "What are you doing here, Soldier?"

Kairu approached the guard silently. He pistolwhipped the soldier with his sword hilt knocking the soldier unconscious on the floor.

Kairu: "You're relieved from duty... Sir!" he taunted the motionless soldier not disguising his voice anymore.

Kairu grabbed the keys from his side and unlocked Ryli's cage.

    • Malina flushed as Kairu left the room and quickly pulled on his clothes. They were big on her, not that she was surprised, but they covered her well enough to slip back up to her room. She probably should have gone to her room while she was still invisible, so that she wouldn't be seen wear man's clothes. Oh well, at least the servents will have already finished their chores in this area of the house for the time being. Hopefully.
She did see a few people on the way to her room, but she managed to avoid being seen, or at least stopped to talk. As soon as her door was latched, she pulled off Kairu's clothes and slipped hers back on, making sure to tie her hair back up. That finished, she gathered up her potion supplies and placed them back in their bag. Then she wrapped Kairu's clothes around her potion book and carried everything down to the stables. She secreted the stuff with the other supplies that she had hidden, then ordered a groom to ready Outlaw for riding, saying that she and Kairu would be going for a ride and a picnic soon. She also requested Black Heart be brought in, so that he could carry their picnic supplies. The groom frowned at her request, but fetched the horses as she brought Zylan in.
She quickly readied her silver stallion, and stuffed the supplies into his saddle bags. He nickered quietly and nudged her shoulder, sensing her distress as animals are known to do with their owners. She rubbed his nose. "We're leaving, Zylan. We're leaving and won't be coming back for a long time," she whispered to him, fighting to keep her face under control. She didn't want to cry, not yet, not when there were people who could see her tears and wonder at them. The longer they went without their abscence being noticed, the better.
Once Zylan was ready, Malina lead him outside and tied his reins to the hook outside. Then she went in and fetched Black Heart and Outlaw. She tied the black stallion next to her horse, then tied the black mare next to them and filled her saddlebags. She also tied a large picnic basket on top, hoping it would help with the deception. She slipped Kairu's clothes in Outlaw's saddlebags, placing her book in Zylan's. She did her best to even out the weight the two male horses would be carrying, but she wasn't sure just how heavy her travelling companions would be, and she wasn't sure how strong Outlaw was. Still, she did a fairly good job, she felt. Now all she had to do was wait. She rubbed Zylan and Outlaw's shoulders as she did just that.

      • Ryli recognized Kairu instantly. "So you finally decided to show up?" she said, smiling a little. She stood up from the floor. "I'm ready. What's the plan?"

        • "Just follow me and stay close." Kairu grabbed Ryli's hand, his face still covered. He pulled out a set of shackles and started to chain Ryli. "It may seem like I'm not helping, but it will help the illusion that I'm a soldier and that things are still normal." Kairu put the restraints on and began to lead Ryli through the castle. They managed to make it outside the castle and into the courtyard when Adriel spotted them. He summoned a squad of seven guards and himself to apprehend Kairu and Ryli. They made their way to the stables and shut the door. "Malina! There are some guards outside and are not that happy. We need to get going now!"

          • Ryli rushed into the stables with Kairu, adrenaline pumping through her. She was definitely ready to be out of here. She was used to being met with untrusting stares, but she had never been criminalized for committing no crime. If this is how they treat guests in their kingdom, I will be glad when I am far away from here, she thought. Glancing at Kairu, she wondered if he remembered her yet. Why would he have come back for me if he didn't remember our past? Ryli thought, trying to reassure herself that the nightmare was over.

            • Malina jumped as Kairu and ryli entered the stables. "Shhh!" she hissed. "The grooms don't realize we're freeing her, but they're pretty strong." She frowned as she saw the Gerudo. "Didn't I give you some of the potion for her? Would have made it easier to get away." She sighed. "Oh well." She mounted Zylan, then gestured to Outlaw. "I thought you would be able to ride, Ryli, so I readied him for you. Kairu can ride with you, or if you'd rather, he can ride behind me. I balanced the saddle bags for him to ride with you, but it ought to be easy enough to rearrange them." She smiled as she picked up Black Heart's lead rein.

              • Ryli swung up onto Outlaw. She grew up with the Gerudo, who were master horesmen, so she was quite skilled at riding. "Kairu, since the bags are already balanced, it would probably be easier if you rode with me. From the sounds of it, we don't have much time." She figured he would have preferred to ride with Malina, since he was so in love with her, but at this point, she just wanted to survive. She didn't like being a prisoner and had no intention of ever going back into that dungeon. Ryli had changed in her time alone while she was searching for him. She was more independent, ready to fight at a moment's notice, less trusting, and less cheerful than she used to be. Glancing at Malina, Ryli realized she didn't stand a chance against her anyway. She was beautiful, rich, and a princess at that. Sure, technically Ryli was a princess herself, but she would never go back to that life. Looks like I'm just going to have to admit defeat and give Kairu up, she thought sadly.

                • Kairu climbed onto the horse and wrapped his arms around Ryli. He whispered a statement in her ear, "I remember almost everything and I do love you. I trust you will help keep me safe."

                  • Malina smiled sadly at the pair, her heart renching. She hadn't wanted Kairu's affections, but she still liked them. Enough that she had just given up everything for the woman he truly loved. She wasn't bitter over the loss; she wouldn't stay with her father after this anyways. She wasn't angery or hurt that Kairu loved another. She was simply sad to see him leave her.
Now, she was heading on a new adventure. She was still a princess, but a traitor to her father, the baron. So she wouldn't introduce herself as princess anymore. Instead, she was a witch. She'd master these potions and learn spells if she could. She'd become a mistress of the feared art called magic and she'd grow powerful. Then when she returned to claim her throne, none would refuse her.
Encouraged by these thoughts, though dark they were, Malina kicked Zylan into a gallop, pulling Black Heart along. "Come on. The corral is outside the palace wall, so we'll be good as gone when we jump the fence." The fence was fairly high, to keep the horses from making a break for it on there own, but a skilled enough rider could easily get over it.

                    • Kairu looked back at Malina and shared her sympathies. Did some part of ihis heart wish for a different outcome? One where he could be a prince to Labrynna, although never the rightful ruler, but he could have been married in, regardless. One where he simply ignored his attachments to Ryli, a Gerudo in the land of racist, suspicious biggots. Perhap it did secretly desire a different outcome, some part of his heart, at least. Perhaps it is just who he is and he will never truly settle down. After all, despite the crisis for their lives, Kairu smiled that he was with the two most beautiful women he ever met. One who he has had a strong, almost intimate relationship since they first met and that he left his family for; and a woman of a sheltered, royal background who breaks from the stereotype of 'princess'. A beautiful young woman whom he has built a semi-intimate relatioship with, and who has also saved his life. The least he wanted was for Malina to stay. He took her away from her father, life, and home, and he wanted to make sure that he was willing to help find her a new one.

                      • A huge grin broke out across Ryli's face and her golden eyes sparkled in delight at what Kairu said. "You're safe with me," she said quietly. "I won't let anything happen to you again, I promise." She squeezed Outlaw with her knees and galloped behind Malina. Part of her was scared that Kairu wouldn't like the new person she'd become. There's no going back though, this is who I am now, she thought grimly, the sparkle disappearing from her eyes.

                        • Malina grinned as she heard Outlaw's hoofbeats behind. She had been right; the Gerudo was a rider. That would make it much easier. She leaned forward on Zylan's neck, urging her stallion to greater speeds. She hoped this would get a similair response from Ryli. It had been ages since she had had a good race with a decent rider. Not that they needed to race; there would be plenty opportunities for that. She just wanted to enjoy the speed and the thrill of a race.

Besides, if the shouting guards were any indication, they probably should speed up.

                          • Ryli grinned as Malina sped up. Nudging Outlaw again, his hooves flew across the ground and they quickly gained on Malina. If I didn't have Kairu on here with me, I would show her a real race, she thought, laughing quietly to herself. Riding was one thing she missed about life among the Gerudo. Ryli had always loved horses, and they were very important in her culture. She wondered what it would take for her to buy her own horse sometime in the near future.

                            • Kairu held onto Ryli. The horses bobbing and bounce was making him queasy. It was then that Adriel was chasing after the trio. He was escorted by his personal bodyguards. It wasn't until the farthest perimeter of the palace that he finally conceded his chase. The trio raced towards Hyrule at top speeds. Kairu hoped that the Baron wouldn't chase with a cavalry, which he was fortunate for. When aAdriel returned to the Palace confusion and panic was sweeping through everyon. Adriel barked and yelled. When he reached his study he began to feel the anger and hate towards Kairu and Ryli. They were two spies for Hyrule and were now on their way back with his daughter. Adriel flipped his desk in anger and hatred. He soon began thinking up a plan to rescue Malina, his thirst for revenge blinding him to what would have been obvious to anyone else, Malina wanted to go.

                              • Malina gave a cry of delight as Zylan leaped the fence. She slowed his pace slightly to allow Black Heart to catch her breath, and Ryli to catch up on Outlaw. She turned in the saddle to check her companions, but her eye caught on a figure closer to the palace. Few shared her father's form, which she recognized immediately. Her eyes filled with tears. "I'm sorry, Father," she whispered, hoping the wind would take her words to him, "but I can't watch you make more mistakes like the one you were about to."
She turned back to the path, guiding her stallion towards the distant and large country of Hyrule. Hopefully, her father wouldn't dare search for her there. I will return, she swore. When I am strong and smart enough that he will listen to me. I will not be ignored like a child any longer.
She glanced briefly at the saddlebag where hid her spellbook. Magic. Few things aroused more fear and respect than the mystical prowess of magic. Potions weren't enough, though. This one book could grant her much, but not near enough. She'd need more. True spells, the heart of magic. Jynxes. Hexes. Control of the very elements. These were what she would go after. Ryli controled fire, as she had demonstrated when the two first met. If she was from Hyrule and had learned her skills from there, Malina would find teachers there, or better yet, books. She leaned forward on Zylan's neck and whispered in his ear, "To our destinies, my dear horse. Let us find the knowledge and respect we need to return, so that my father will realize his little girl is a powerful and grow sorceress. A witch with all the powers of a goddess."
