"Okay then," Donovan smiled at the leopard. To Donovan, something about Zarola's features did make it look like a leader. As they walked, Donovan ate another apple and kept lighting torches along the path.
It turned out they didn't have to eat again while in the cave, because they got outside when the sun suggested it was only 10:00 in the morning. They had been walking for about 2 hours. Donovan felt super relieved to be out in the open air, and the air felt fresher. As the sign said, they came out in a forest called the Lost Woods, and now Donovan realized what the name meant. It looked like it would be impossible to navigate through the trees, and he didn't know how long it would go on for. All he could see ahead of them was forest. The trees in the forest were huge, too. "No wonder they call it the Lost Woods. But think about it--we would get lost in the desert too. I would imagine we wouldn't be able to see much of where we should go there too." He looked around. There were some tunnels that appeared to lead to different parts of the forest. In one of the tunnels stood a little scarecrow-like man playing a song on his horn. "Maybe he can help us through here." Donovan said, walking over to the man. He realized that the scarecrow looked an awful lot like Skull Kid from the story of Majora's Mask, and it was one of the creepiest things Donovan had ever noticed. Suddenly the Skull Kid disappeared, reappearing on a tree branch in front of them, playing the song. He didn't seem to walk, but it did look like he could have been trying to lead them out. If he was trying to get away from them he would surely stop playing his horn.
