    The Little Witch's Training

    (I think this was where I was meant to post this O_o if not just get kairu to move it or something hbc)

    Jenna was so excited, she couldnt believe she would finally be able to learn her mothers secrets and be a real witch. she watched her parter walk along with her. she wasn't exactly sure where they were going but she was sure this was going to be fun.

    (lol I can move stuff too. And no worries, I forgot too for a moment. Not sure if she introduced herself anyways.)

    Layla smiled at the excitement radiating from the witchling next to her. She patted Jenna's shoulder. "You should be alright with most things when among the Stari, but there is one thing I must teach you. When Stari greet each other, they salute each other like this." She placed her fist over her heart and bowed to the girl. Then she straightened. "Usually, we give each other a personalized greeting as well, although that's not as important. Mine is 'May you never fear the darkness', because I have lived in the darker parts of the forest." She didn't elaborate why that was, and hoped Jenna wouldn't ask, but she could divert the girl's thoughts if she had to so she could avoid that topic. "We can work on yours, if you like, but it must have something to do with you. The greeting is to help the person you're speaking with get to know you. For example, mine says that I have no fear of the darkness. What is something important about yourself that you want anyone who hears your greeting to understand quickly?"

      Jenna thought for a moment "I guess what I want people to understand about me is that, even though I'm different, I'm still a person" she smiled up happily at the girl "it's funny to watch people be scared of me, but not when it means I have no friends..... how about, may your friendships bring you external happiness" she hopped it would be good enough.

        Layla pursed her lips thoughtfully. "That sounds good. Another good one would be 'may you never lack in friends'. Either one are your choice, just remember to accompany it with a bow." She patted the girl's shoulder. "As I said, you will fit in quite nicely with the Stari. We don't fright over the unknown." She glanced up. "We should probably make camp for the night. You said you were wanting a fire to cook with?"

            Layla smiled behind her mask. "You'll master it quickly," she told the girl. Then she glanced around the forest, frowning. "Food is good raw too. I know how to make some good dishes without having to cook anything." She sounded almost desperate, much to her disgust, but she really didn't want to have a fire.

              "well, I've never actually had anything raw" Jenna said "my mother was a great cook but I guess I could try it, might be interesting" she smiled at Layla. Jenna could tell that she really didn't like the idea of having a fire, she could tell in the sound of her voice. Jenna wanted to ask why but bit her tounge, if Layla wanted to tell her she would.

                Layla breathed a quiet sigh of relief. "I usually eat my food raw. There is nothing wrong with it, unless it's meat." She took fruits, vegitables, breads, and cheese from her pack and plucked some nearby herbs. She deftly cut the veggies into a bowl, making a salad, and added some apple slices to it. Then she cut open the bread, smeared some of the cheese onto it, and placed some blueberries and the herbs on it. Replacing the two halves of bread together, she handed the sandwich to Jenna. "Not as good as some of the meals I can make, but good enough," she said with a smile.

                  Jenna smiled at her "thank you" she said taking a bite "it's good, you don't need to worry. besides its not as if we're far away from your tribes home right? I can deal with just a sandwhich for dinner"

                    Layla smiled. "True. If we leave early tomorrow, we should arrive there by noon. Just remember the salute, and you'll be fine." She patted the girl's shoulder. After she finished her dinner, she glanced up into the trees. "Do you mind if I spend the night on a tree limb? I feel more comfortable off the ground when I sleep." The witchling could join her on the tree, but she wasn't sure how much Jenna would like that. Most people got stiff from spending the night in a tree.

                      Jenna smiled "that's fine with me" she said "I prefer being on the ground when I sleep so I'll just curl up on a soft patch of grass" Jenna couldn't believe all that had happened to her today, but she was exhausted it had been a long day and she wouldn't wait to sleep.

                        Layla smiled. "Sweet dreams then, little witchling." She ruffled the girl's hair, then turned to one of the trees and climbed up it. She settled down on one of the firmer branches and relaxed. She was used to sleeping in trees, having done so for the last several years. Ever since the fire, she had difficulty relaxing on the ground, as she was much faster jumping from tree to tree than she was running along the ground.

                        (go ahead and post the morning, unless you want to stay in the night awhile longer?)

                          Jenna found a soft patch of glass where she fell asleep. in her dreams she was in a beautiful castle, filled with the most amazing treasures. a man in a dark cloak walked up to her "you are well on your way to being a powerful witch" he said "but which side will you choose" besides the man were an angel and a demon, each one looked exactly like herself.

                            The next morning

                            Layla woke only a little after the sun rose, as usual. For once, her dreams had been calm, not fearful, so she had gotten a decent sleep. She yawned, stretched, then climbed back down the tree. She nibbled on an orange she had gotten the day before as she listened to the waking forest. After a while, she reached over and shook Jenna. "Come on," she said. "You need to eat breakfast so we can get moving."
