  • Amaya's attack

Amaya threw her head back and screeched. The men she was leading looked at her warily, but she ignored them. She drew her sword with her right hand, a knife with her left. Solar stood next to her, shaking with anticipation. Amaya turned to the soldiers. "Today, you fight for glory! Fight for General Rhykim! Fight for the freedom of Logata!" With that, she turned and ran down the ramp of the ship and onto the sandy shore around the canyon. The men swarmed behind her from the ship and the many others following. Amaya howled her blood lust, eager to find something to sink her blade into.

Lillian led the flight of her armies towards the top of the canyon, and she could see no sign of the enemy army just yet. They were out of the canyons now, flying over the fields that hugged the cliffs.

Lillian heard a shout from behind her, she looked around and saw Altimere flying up to meet her. Lillian faced the horizon again, and like a giant tear in space-time, a black line of soldiers appeared before her. The time for battle was nigh. "READY YOUR WEAPONS!" She shouted. Her people responded with a Rito war cry, and prepared themselves for battle. "For the King, for Clearcliff, and for Logata!" She cried. The armies were ever so slowly getting larger and larger in their sights.

Amaya grinned as she spotted the dark spots in the sky. "Rito, possibly Dracos as well," she said to Solar. "Let's see if my aim with my bow is as good as it used to be." She put up her sword and knife and drew her bow. Knocking an arrow, she shouted for the other archers in her army to also knock, draw, and make ready to fire. With a hiss, many black barbs flew into the air as soon as the Rito were close enough. Amaya grinned, certain that the arrows had hit several of the Rito, possibly even killed them.

The asssassin had walked slong the edge of the cliff, watching the battle from a good three hundred to four hundred metres away - well out of the range of most bows. Mosts bows, that is, except for a longbow. With a slight grin, Alt pulled the bow in question off of his back, and took off.

Soaring up about fifty feet, he pulled an arrow out of his quiver, drew it back and took aim in to the mass of enemies. His cowl was covering his head once more, giving him the appearance of a wraith, and so one could not see that it was with a dark grin that he let the arrow loose.

Watching it fly, he felt a sense of satisfaction.

Then he flew towards Lillian's flock of warriors.

When Alt had caught up with Lillian and the rest of the Rito, Lillian noticed a black cloud that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. The Rito had experienced this before. It was a rain of black arrows. "RITO ASCEND! SHIELDS UP!!" The Rito warriors flew higher and higher, with their shields at the ready. Many arrows struck their shields and most were protected. Lillian dodged, weaved, and spun gracefully through the air as she had done many times in the canyon and avoided the arrows. Some though were not so lucky. Around 10-15 soldiers fell from the sky, but Lillian could not save them. She had to keep going. They were almost directly over their prey now. "WARRIORS.... ATTACK!!" The rito army descended, an army of death from above. Spears pierced the chests of many soldiers, brightly feathered arrows sought out their targets, and throwing knives silently assassinated others. Lillian flew to the ground and pulled out her daggers that hung about her waist. She danced through dozens of soldiers, all of them falling victim to her blades. Her red cloak following after her deadly movements, encountered blood splatter from all angles, and soon became drenched with enemy blood. We're going to win this! She thought. It was a glorious battle.

Amaya put up her bow and drew her sword and knife again as the Rito descended. "Keep those arrows pouring for as long as you can!" she ordered the archers, then threw herself into battle, Solar next to her. She killed any who got in her way, stabbing with her sword, disabling with her knife, hitting any exposed part of thier bodies. Solar followed behind her, killing any Rito who fell before her blade but she didn't kill. Amaya howled as she felt the blood splattering from her enemies, eager for the next one to kill, knowing that this would be the best battle she had ever fought, and possibly ever.

(Due to inactivity, the thread is being forcefully pushed.)

The Rito Militia and Amaya's Forces clashed til the Sun dipped below the horizon. On both sides the casualty list was high. Amaya and her troops managed to push back the Rito to their homes, but out of an act of mercy, and respect for the battle, the Rito homes were relatively unscathed.
