As Jorah scolded his brother, Ayberk paced away from the door without hesitation. He didn't like the looks of what was on the other side of that portal door, and his only interest in it was where the bar could be located in the world. He wandered further down the hall lined with windows, not noticing any more loose wall stones. He had a feeling that they had found everything this hall had to offer. Portal doors were quite rare, and they had been lucky to come across one so quickly. He opened the wooden door at the end of the hall and was just a bit surprised by what he found. Never before had the family gotten any hint that the castle had been a school in the past, but this room made it seem likely. That actually doesn't mean much though, because the castle was always changing and playing with them. From what they knew, the castle could have been many different things in the past.
The layout of wooden desks was identical to a classroom Ayberk had seen in a storybook. There was a large teacher's desk at the head of the room with various tools scattered across it--quills with ink, scrolls, glasses, and there was even what Ayberk thought was a magic wand. Some mysterious, glittery dust was scattered across the table's surface. Across the room, a bookcase taking up a good part of the wall caught Ayberk's eye. It would definitely hold plenty of knowledge, and he knew Jorah would like it. "Hey, come look at this," he said, waving the others over.

Helio wandered over, nursing his ear and his pride after his mother dragged him out of the other door. He peeked into the room without really caring what was in it. "Looks a magic schoolroom," He said. "Might want to collect anything of interest; it's not like we'll be able to find it again." He continued to look around the room, trying to find something of interest, but came up with nothing. Despairing, he started to leave. "Well, I'm going to get back to exploring, see if I can find anything I find interesting. Have fun," He said somewhat grumpily, before leaving.

      yeah, that sucked, didn't it?

Ayberk's eyes flew all over the bookcase, rapidly checking title after title. It all seemed interesting, and he wanted to read some of the books but he didn't know where to begin. If he could, he would just take the bookcase back to the part of the castle that never changed so they would have all the books forever. It would certainly come in handy for both his mother and himself, especially if he could get his hands on some spellbooks. He reached up and pulled out a random book with a dull green cover. It was not too thick of a book, but it's pages were much bigger than what he usually saw. In fading gold lettering, Logata in Watercolor was elegantly printed across the front. Ayberk flipped to a random page and was greeted by a bright illustration taking up the whole page. There was no writing to be read besides a hand-scrawled title, which he knew was the name of this place - "Bybourne Forest." Ayberk knew where the forest was located on a map, but he had never really been deep into it. He knew it was a pretty place, but his imagination had never been able to conjure an image as beautiful as what he looked at now. Various shades of green depicted the dense canopy that protected all the forest critters that lived below. Bright birds of blue and white were perched in the trees above, while a couple chipmunks were shown skittering along the forest floor. There were colorful blotches of flowers here and there, and in the distance glassy waters rushed over the rocks in a stream. What Ayberk liked the most were the rays of light shining through the trees. He stared at the painting in awe, almost feeling like he was there. He finally flipped to another page, which showed an almost opposite scene. The lively green of before was replaced by barren desert sands. "Forsaken Desert." Ayberk continued to admire the book's pages, flipping through it on the floor like a young child. He payed no attention to wherever his brother was going, or whatever his mother was looking through above.
