*Narus and Tara arrive from Narus's Camp*
*A few days later
Narus's small group had finally arrived at the Forest. They would have been here sooner had they had horses, but fate decreed that was not to be the case.
Well, it has certainly been awhile, He thought. I wonder what has happened in my absence. Come to think of it,, Rhykim has probably either been here, or will be here soon, so we will need to hurry, and spend at little time here as possible.
Narus glanced back at Tara, who was staying in the back of the group. It would probably be best if she stayed outside the forest, so as to not draw undue attention. But on the other hand,, if she were to stay out here, there is always the chance that she will be attacked. I will just have to take her into the forest with us and keep prying eyes away from her. He blinked and found that he had been staring at her.
He hastily turned away, a slight blush on his face, and instead looked for Felgrand. With half his tail missing, the cheetah was having difficulty balancing, and was being supported by two other cats. Returning his gaze, Felgrand noted the slight blush and burst out laughing.
Thoroughly embarrassed, Narus returned his gaze to the forest, and noticed a small group of people walking out. Signaling for the group to stop, he stared hard at the group, trying to determine who they were. Finally, he noticed the small figures scattered among them, and relaxed a little. They were Stari. Though they might also be with Rhykim. At this though Narus signaled for his Stari to draw their weapons and prepare to fight or flee, depending on just big the enemy army was.
As they drew closer, however, Narus recognized the man at the head of the group,Ranger. This neither soothed or relaxed the chief, as Ranger could either be with Rhykim still, or be on his own. Deciding that the best thing to do was to attempt to meet with them on peaceful terms, Narus quickly shouted to his group to raise a white flag, a universal signal for peace.
A few minutes later, the two parties had met, and Narus and Ranger were staring each other down. “Ranger,” Narus said coldly, acknowledging the other man. Despite Ranger standing a head taller then him, Narus was not intimidated, and stared him directly in the eye. “What, may I ask, are you doing here? Shouldn't you be off trying to catch Nyx's eye?” His voice was cold enough to stop global warming in its tracks. He had never liked Ranger very much. Always playing with words, always joking around, rarely seeming to care enough. While he acknowledged Ranger's skill as a negotiator, words would only help so much, and Narus would only tolerate him as long as needed before it became necessary to kill the man.
