"Well, depends on who you ask if you were special or not, remember that," Ranger began, "and anyways, your praise means more because you're not just another person from the forest, no, because you got away. Yo are actually different from all of them." He smiled. "I like different."

Nyx smiled back. "I'm glad to here that," she said softly. "So tell me, are you different as well? I'm quite fond of 'different' myself," Nyx said as she moved closer to him.

Ranger smiled and looked at her eyes, "I hope I am, because if I wasn't then I would never be as good as you." He also moved a bit closer to her. "Although, even if I am different, there will never be someone...as good as you."

Nyx smiled and her forest green eyes sparkled as Ranger spoke such kind words. "I never knew you felt that way," Nyx said quietly. "Why didn't you say anything to me back when I lived in the forest?"

Ranger bowed his head, "Back when you lived there, the pressure I was under, if I had said anything, it would just have made you suffer it too. I would have never wished that to my worse enemy..." he looked up, "much less to someone I like."

Nyx blushed once again. Am I going soft? Right after thinking that, she mentally shook herself. "What do you mean when you say that I would suffer too?" she asked, looking deep into his eyes. She wanted to understand him. There was just something about him that drew her in. Nyx didn't understand what it was, which bothered her. She didn't like not knowing things.

Ranger sighed, he didn't like talking about it. When people asked, he usually lied to them, but Nyx...there was something about her, something that didn't let him lie, he had to tell her the truth. "Well," he began, "people already pressured me, specially my father. Since we were family of the Chief, he always acted as though we had to be perfect, like I already said. But it would be very hard for me to describe the way he treated me, just so that I would act like the best. The punishments..." he shivered. "Anyways, that is the reason why I never developed relationships, real relationships, back at home. Because then the pressure would just bounce on them too. Oh you're his friend? You're his girlfriend? Well then you have to act like the best, you can't show signs of having fun, you have to be proper at all times, you this, you that...it's just too much. And if I had caused you to go through that...I would have never forgiven myself." Ranger couldn't believe how open he was being with Nyx, this was so unlike him.

Nyx could see pain in Ranger's eyes and she took another step towards him and put her hand on his arm. "I'm so sorry..." she said. "It doesn't have to be that way anymore. When the battle here is over, you don't have to go back. You can stay with Master Rhykim, Amaya, and I. You won't be under that pressure anymore, and you can be yourself. Personally, I would love to get to know the real you." Nyx smiled seductively at the last part. She learned that from watching Amaya over the years. They had the same face, with the exception of the eyes, so she hoped she was pulling it off as well as her twin always seemed to.

Ranger closed his eyes, the touch of her hand, it was so soothing...and her offer. Could it really be true? Could it really be over, all that suffering, just like that? He considered it, and nodded at her, he would think it over, and decide before this was over. Still, he knew there wasn't much to think over, but he didn't like not thinking things over, and now he was over thinking this. He opened his eyes to see her smiling in an amazing way, he was so attracted to her. He smiled, "I would love that too." He just stood there, feeling her touch on his arm, her warmth, looking into her beautiful eyes...

Nyx loved the way he was looking at her. She stepped closer to him and whispered, "I really would love it if you'd stay with us.... With me." She knew he was a great fighter and would quickly rise through the ranks of Rhykim's army, which would benefit him, especially when they won this war. There was more to it than that though. She wanted to fight by HIS side rather than someone else's. She wanted to uncover the mysteries he held, and she knew they would make great friends... Even though she was starting to think it would be nice if they were more than that.

Ranger loved the sound of her voice, it was so soothing, so beautiful. And her words, they were magical to his ears, what she was saying was perfect to him. "I know I would love it too," he whispered back. She was now so close, he slowly lowered his head, leaning in to her. His face closer to hers, his lips, to hers, closer, coming in for just one, small kiss, and then..."Ranger, sir!" Ranger jumped back, turning to see one of the Stari waiting for him. "What is it?" Ranger all but hissed.
"Sir, the camp is set, what do we do now?"
"You wait for orders, now go."
"Yes sir," answered the Stari before turning and leaving to the tents. Ranger turned back to Nyx, smiling sadly, but he knew, the moment had been ruined.

Nyx felt a surge of heat to her cheaks. She hadn't ever been kissed before. She smiled softly, an expression much softer than her usual one. She loved the feeling she got when he kissed her.... It was like nothing Nyx had ever experienced before. She longed for more after it was broken by the rude interruption from the soldier. "That was... really nice," she said shyly in response to Ranger's sad smile.

Ranger smile grew warmer when she said that. "Yeah, it was," he said, feeling his cheeks grow warmer as well. He sighed with longing, he wanted to kiss her again, but he didn't think it was correct of him to do so without the romantic atmosphere. Yet, if she kissed him, he wouldn't refuse. *wink wink, nudge nudge*

Nyx grabbed his hand and looked deep into his eyes. She put her free hand on the back of his neck to gently pull Ranger's face down to hers. She kissed him gently, loving the way his lips felt. She hoped he felt the same as she did.

Ranger closed his eyes, enjoying the kiss as much as he could. Her lips were so soft, so perfect, the feeling they brought him was amazing. He wouldn't pull back, he didn't want to pull back, he just let his emotions run free, and enjoyed the moment.
