Nyx smiled broadly. "That's great! And yes, it was an 'I told you so' moment. The Stari didn't want to wear the armor when I suggested it to them, so I gave them their way. Weakness and stupidity can be weeded out by death... If they don't want to listen to reason, well, it's their lives on the line, not mine," she said cruelly, gesturing to her armor. "I thought ahead, as always," she said smugly.

Endin suppressed a shudder at the twins' callousness, his hand instinctively straying down to a knife at his belt. He noticed and pried it off, holding them clasped behind his back.
"How can you do that to your troops? Make them save their lives if you have to, don't just let them die!" He blurted, immediately regretting it. "I apologize, commander. I mean no disrespect, I had a rough night."
'Three, why in h*** did he promote these monsters?'

Nyx glared at the person who spoke against her. "You will do well to remember to speak to me with respect from now on," she said, almost growling. By her side, Luna growled a warning. "Weakness and stupidity has no place in my ranks. If they choose to go without armor and be put to their deaths, then they were no help to me in the first place. However, if they had managed to succeed without the armor, the brave fools would have been the best stealth-fighters I've ever seen. Since they decided to reconsider their decision, they are showing they are not as stupid as I thought they were."

"Besides, Stari are stubborn," Amaya put in. "We don't wear armor if we can avoid it, and we can take a while to be convinced otherwise." She put an arm around her twin's shoulders. "So we find the vest way to teach our peers is pain. They're more likely to put on armor as Nyx requested after seeing their comrades killed from the lack of it, than after hours of debate." She grinned at Endin.

Endin slowly nodded. "Understood, commanders." He said, throat dry. "You know the Stari better than I do, and I'll remember that in regards to your other decisions."
He tried to grin back, but couldn't bring himself to, and after a second dropped his head and started nervously sharpening a knife.

Rhykim nodded at Amaya to acknowledge her request. "If you all are finished, I would like to get going. Nyx, what is the status of the infiltration? Were you able to seize some of their weapons?"

Nyx sighed, she knew this had been coming. "No Master, the Stari had a death wish and decided to go in without proper armor. When we return properly equipped, I am sure we can steal the weapons and the blueprints, or take them by force."

"For now, I want you and Ranger to go and infiltrate. Instead of going with a group, go solo. You'll be less obvious and it should be easier to slip in. Take a couple bags for you two and your cheetahs. Try to snatch enough for a squad or two. Alternatively, if you insist on bringing reinforcements, use them as distractions for you and Ranger to go in undetected. As for the rest of Logata, here's what else needs to be done. Endin, you will go to Silvervale with these," Rhykim said handing over the blackmail letters. "If your contact refuses to cooperate voluntarily, use these. They are forged blackmail letters that will expose him as a traitor to the people of Silvervale. If he still refuses, then go in by force. As for Amaya and myself, we will travel to Clearmarble Edge with a battalion. I have the intentions of diplomacy, however, should they resist, we will be forced to occupy the settlement. Nyx, when you and Ranger are done, I want you to bring the equipment to Clearmarble Edge. Do not stop anywhere else. We may need the reinforcements. Same goes for you Commander Endin. Everything sound good?"

"Understood, sir." Endin said, nodding. "I'll take a company to Silvervale as soon as they're readied." Endin took the letters and rolled them up, storing them in an empty knife. He walked out of the room, staggering at the stairs. 'I'll take a company to Silvervale as soon as the hangover's gone.' He mentally amended, looking out the castle gates at the bustle of Logata city. 'They say hair of the dog's the best cure, don't they?'
He thought for a moment, then shook his head emphatically. He couldn't go get drunk, had to stay on his feet in here. One slip and he'd be slaughtered. Still, the thought of a cold drink hung at the back of his mind, whispering seductively.
He splashed more ice-water on his face and rubbed at his temples, groaning.

Amaya frowned. "Master Rhykim, I thought I was supposed to accompany Endin to Silvervale, to lend support to his words." She also wanted to watch him, to make sure he didn't turn traitor again. No matter how many times he proved his loyalty, she wouldn't trust him. She never trusted someone who turned traitor once. Rhykim didn't really need her in Clearmarble. He'd have an army at his side and he could easily ask a Stari to come with him to prove that he was serious. Endin, on the other hand, would need to be watched. While she knew any other Stari could just as easily support his threats, she didn't want someone incompetent following him as he turned against Rhykim.

"Very well, Amaya, I suppose that can be changed. You'll be escorting Commander Endin to Silvervale to acquire the horses for a legion as well as Silvervale's loyalty. The plan of diplomacy and blackmail remain. You know what to do should he not cooperate. I will take the assassin then to Clearmarble. If it seems to be an issue, I want no one going alone during these times. Is everything understood or are there more questions?"

Amaya placed her fist over her heart and bowed. "Everything is understood, Master Rhykim," she said. She glanced over at Nyx. "Good luck, twin," she told her fondly, then she headed out with Solar at her heels. Perhaps going to Silvervale would be the more boring of the two missions, but still would much rather keep an eye on the traitor than let him run around unsupervised. She was tempted to bring some of the other Stari with her, but she figured that they'd be bringing some of the army anyways, in case negotiations and blackmailing failed. She grinned as she searched for Endin. "This might be fun after all," she told Solar. The cheetah rolled his eyes.

Endin saw Amaya looking for him and bent his head, doing his best to look inconspicuous for a second. The cloak did not help in these matters. 'I was supposed to go alone, not with a psychopath!' He fumed, giving up on hiding. He walked towards her, trying his best not to look as sleep-deprived and hungover as he was.
"General! Are you going to be assisting with the mission? I thought you were going with Rhykim."

                            EDIT: I a word

Amaya raised an eyebrow as she spotted Endin. "How do I look like Rhykim? No, never mind, that is beside the point. Yes, I am to accompany you. Master Rhykim felt that you might need my ability and position to back your words. You will be leading the negotiations, but if they refuse, I lead the forces." She glared at the taller man, daring him to deny her.

Rhykim left briefing room to seek out Xeonph. He wasn't sure how he was going to ask, but he figured he could bribe/hire the assassin for more work. Rhykim figured his ability to fly could be useful.
