"Felix won't tell us," Zaria said bitterly, cutting any ties to the enemy ship and pushing it away from the White Wolf and returning to the group. "I suggest we start sailing away from the area as we open the loot, the waters are protected." she sat against the mast and twirled her knife between her fingers. "Not that we couldn't take them, but guards of the Royal Family are definitely more trained than these pansies."

Tyra laughed at Zaria's annoyance and strode to the tiller. "You'll find out soon enough. You're right, though, we need to get goin'." She unlashed the tiller, and turned it until the White Wolf had nearly turned completely around. Once their course was set for land, she lashed the tiller back in place and crossed the deck to the chest. "Now let's see what Beaver has brought me," she said, drawing her sword. Using the edge, she levered the nails from the lid and opened the box. She grinned at what lay inside. Several large gems flashed at her in the bright sun, nestled around what appeared to be three long sticks with holes in their ends. She frowned at these, but decided to ask Felix about them later. The thing she was really after, though, was the parchment beneath the whole lot. Carefully, she pulled it out and unfolded it. She examained the lines running its length, mapping islands, currents, and rocks. She grinned. "Well lookie here," she said aloud to her crew, who no doubt were attempting to see what was on the parchment. "Lord Rhykim has a map to a country known as Hyrule. Well, had," she corrected herself with a smirk.

(Sorry about not posting. As some of you know, I have been very busy and we don't actually have our own internet where I am :/)

Corin thought about using his saved round to blast a hole in the hull of the other ship, but decided not to. It's crew had been through enough torture for one day, if there were even any left, and it would only make it more obvious that they had been attacked. He planned on keeping the shot in the cannon in case a navy ship came after them after seeing the damage dealt to the merchant ship. He helped Zaria disconnect the two ships and walked over to the group, eyeing the crate Felix had brought aboard. He smiled to see gems in it when Tyra opened the crate, but his full attention went to the map she took out. Another land? Corin thought it was impossible. After living on the sea for years, he of course imagined different countries, but never had real hope of ever venturing to one. And if it was a map from the one and only Lord Rhykim, Corin knew it must be somewhat legitimate. But he also knew that it was an important map, if there weren't much of them, and if the royal navy found out that it was on the White Wolf, they might be in for quite the battle.
"Wait, so Rhykim just has these maps lying around on ships, telling how to get to countries that nobody else has ever heard of?" Corin asked, dumbfounded. "Or did we get really lucky?"

Tyra shook her head. "Nah, I knew it'd be thar. Rhykim had several copies of his map made and sent them out on some o' his ships. This one was on its way to a ship near the eastern shore, but we got to it first. Now we can head to this Hyrule and explore it for ourselves." She rolled the parchment up and stood. "We'll need to change the ship name and flag for a while, 'til he stops huntin' White Wolf. We can stop up for supplies in Falconmill, then we can head over to Hyrule, lessen ya want to stay on shore awhile? It'll be 'while for we make land again after we set sail."

Corin was excited when Tyra said they would be travelling to Hyrule, and wanted to get going as quickly as possible. He always enjoyed a new adventure, and this one would probably be his greatest. "I'll get to painting a new name on back," Corin announced. "But first, what are those stick thingies?" He pointed at the three sticks buried within the gems. They didn't look familiar like the rest of the loot they brought in.

(I'm not sure about the length of the sticks, so I'll assume about as long as a sword.)

Jasin could care less about the gems. While this prospect of a new land seemed interesting-A new land almost certainly meant new craftsmanship- he was more interested in the, as Corin put it, 'stick thingies'. Without asking, he picked one up and hefted it in his hand, then swung it once or twice. "At first glance I'd say some kind of club or staff, but these holes... Obviously not for bashing, as any sort of strong blow would probably shatter it."
So I'm back, or at least I will be eventually. Trying to reintegrate myself.

(for those of you not sure what the objects look like, think blunderbuss: http://netlinkenterprises.com/prodimages/22-1053G.jpg)

Felix watched as the crew went through the treasure, waiting for them to come to the questions about his little surprise. He wasn't sure how they would react to it, but he'd found it interesting so he had decided to bring it along. "Ah," he said, taking the weapon, "this is a little something I came across." He turned to Tyra, dutifully addressing the captain as he explained. "One of the many times I had to hide from the guards, I overheard a bit of their conversation. It turns out they were transporting a 'special' weapon, to be delivered somewhere. They mentioned where it was hidden, and, more importantly, what they did. These are something they called 'firearms' made by the Gorons in Ironlynne. I'm not exactly sure how they said it worked, but as I stole them and packed them, I sort of figured it out." He then moved closer to the cargo box and pulled a small box from within which had been previously hidden by the map. From it he took some small ball-like metal objects, and inserted them through the muzzle of the weapon with a stick. He then added something in a pouch he'd been carrying on his belt, gunpowder, and made sure he'd done everything he'd overheard them say. He grabbed a bigger box from the floor nearby, and placed it on top of a barrel a couple feet away. "Stand back, and watch," he asked the members of the crew standing near the box. When they were a safe distance away, he aimed at the box with the weapon.
He took a deep breath, and pulled the curved small switch which he'd heard had to be pressed. A trigger he recalled they'd called it. The force of the recoil pushed his hand back as a bang sounded, a small whisk of flame and smoke exited the barrel, and the projectiles were shot. Several of them spread out towards the box and upon impact went right through it, leaving holes all through it. He waited for the smoke to clear before turning to Tyra and smiling innocently.
"I thought you might like it, Captain."

Tyra jumped as Felix squeezed the lever on the 'firearm' and a loud peal of thunder sounded. She stared at the ruined box, amazed at the destruction the stick could cause. Slowly, a grin spread across her face. "Aye," she said, throwing an arm around his shoulders. "Mommy likes. Only next time you demonstrate a mini-cannon, don't aim it at my deck." Her gaze swept the holes in the deck, but her grin didn't dim. "You did an excellant job, little bee," she told him, giving him a good slap on the back. "White Wolf's crew just became the most dangerous one, on or off the seas." She surveyed the rest of hdr crew. "What do you lubbers think of the new name 'Sea Queen'?"

A few cusses flew from Corin's voice as he jumped when Felix set off the 'firearm'. Once he regained control of himself, he studied one of the weapons a bit. "It's like a mini-cannon," he noticed. "Uses the same kind of powder, doesn't it?" After looking at it a bit more, Corin put it back by the rest of the firearms. "Name sounds good to me, sis. Anyone gonna help me slap it on?"

Zaria stuck her tongue out, disliking the firearm and the noise brought with it. "I"ll stick to knives until I need to use that Noise Stick, you all can use them without me." she said, rising from where she was sitting on deck. "I'm okay with whatever name we use, let me know if you need any help, Corin." Glancing to the sky, she took in the direction of the clouds and how fast they were moving. "Can I see the map, Tyra, so I can figure out where we'll be sailing?"

Jasin didn't let go of the stick he had picked up, and watched intently as Felix demonstrated it, and unlike the others, barely flinched when he fired it. He had been through a lot. It would take more than a flash and a bang to make him flinch, although after viewing what it had done, he glanced at the 'firearm' in his hand. These three weapons certainly gave them an edge. But... He had an idea. He turned to Tyra. "Captain, if I may ask. We have three of these weapons. What if we sacrificed one and perhaps I could draw up a schematic, attempt to perhaps make more? Think. If we could arm the crew with these we'd be one of the most feared in the seas. Besides, I myself would like to explore the sort of modifications this 'firearm' could use. Take it's range for instance. This weapon would devastate at close range, but if we could create a version that fired even a single shot, but was far more accurate, we could eliminate some of a ship's crew before even landing."

(This is the time to ask I guess. Is there any sort of smithing equipment on this ship?)

(Not specifically, but there'll be hammers and such for Corin's carpentry, and a furnace in the galley for Felix to cook with. I'm sure Jasin could jerry-rig something.)

Tyra nodded to Zaria. "Aye, we can look it over together in my quaters later. For now, we need to set course for Falconmill and stock up on supplies. We'll figure out how much we'll actually need when we get closer." She turned her gaze to Jasin. "Don't see any reason why not. Do what you need; I'll buy for any supplies you'll need when we reach Falconmill." She patted Felix's shoulder, then let him go. "And you, Beaver, can help him if he need the hands. In the mean time, go into my quaters and pull out the blue flag that looks like the sea when it's flapping in the wind." She moved to Corin. "Come on, Sparrow, let's get the new name up. I don't want anyone to see the White Wolf until we're on our way back from this Hyrule, just in case." She paused and pulled the eyepatch from her eye, having forgotten she had put it on. She blinked a few times to adjust her blue eye to the light.

"Alright," Corin responded to his sister. He walked to the back of the ship to pick up two buckets of paint and some brushes from a crate. He put the brushes in his belt and picked up a coiled rope. "You know the routine." he chirped as he playfully tossed Zaria one end of the rope before climbing off the back of the ship.

                              (Sounds good)

Jasin nodded. Without futher ado, he set the 'firearm' on his shoulder and strolled off to his cabin, setting the device down on a table. He pulled out some sheets of parchment that he head, as well as a quill/pen/whatever they had and began to sketch the weapon. He started with the weapon as it is, then began to dissassemble it and try to make sense of how it functioned, making several sketches as he went, at least a few pages.

Zaria caught the rope and followed Corin to the bow, where "White Wolf" was proudly displayed in bold white paint. "Blue paint this time?" she asked, tying one end of the rope around Corin's waist. Ironically, living on the sea taught her a lot about knots, and she knew just the right ones to use to keep Corin steady while he meticulously painted the new name.
