Tyra smirked. First he called her ma'am, as if she was one of the ignorant ladies who take ships out for pleasure cruises. Then he talked about legitimate sailors as if pirates weren't sailors at all. They were, of course. They were just the thieves of the sea, the scourge of the water. And her ship was among the most feared. "Not to belittle your status, Commodore, but if someone steals a seaman's vessel, 'e'll find 'imself in a world of hurt. Us seafarin' folk tend to be mighty testy when someone messes with our family, and our ships tend to be our baby." She patted the railing again, then turned and started for her quarters. "'Sides, showing proof of ownership ain't gonna prove piracy one way or 'nother. Might show ya who's a ship thief, but not many people will get away with that, as I said. And regulating shipments will only indicate smugglers, who would be smart enough not to get caught by such an obvious trap. Pirates, though, are a clever bunch. Thieves like that know how to hide their loot. With all those islands around Logata, you ain't likely to find a pirate's loot when 'e can hide it off-shore and bring back piece by piece as he needs to." Which I should start doing, if the Imperator is serious about making my trade a difficult one to follow.
"And then you have the sell swords, like myself. Mercenaries like us don't have the time or patience to deal with such rabble. If you're wanting to inspect my vessel for any signs of smuggling or piracy, send your men to do so. My people will stay out of their way, but you'll have to forgive them if they hover. This is our home, and we don't like seeing strangers rifling through our things and making a mess of the place. And don't you dare let them pry up any boards or anything like that. I will personally skin them alive and throw them to the sharks if they put one hole in my Sea Queen."

Abruptly Tyra's thoughts paused. Sea Queen. She had forgotten until she uttered the assumed name of the vessel that her White Wolf was incognito. The documents that indicated her ownership of it had it under another name. It had been called White Wolf when it had been completed and sold to her father. Then she frowned. Actually it had been named something else before it had passed to her. Some stupid flowery name that her father had thought would appeal to her. She had promptly renamed it White Wolf, but she didn't think the documents had been updated to include the renaming. Maybe she could use that story to explain the difference in names from the documents and the hull. After all, Sea Queen, White Wolf, they could easily have the exact same story.

Thompson narrowed his eyes to show that he wasn't laughing at Tyra's jests. "My patience is wearing thin so I ask once more, hand over the permits or I will have my entire fleet tear this ship apart and your crew hauled back to the mainland to be jailed and I will see to it that the... 'Sea Queen' will be burned in the Bay." Thompson wasn't even amused, putting heavy sarcasm upon the mention of the Sea Queen and as he continued to watch Tyra he became even more suspicious of her and her crew.

Tyra laughed, now fully relaxed. If the fleet that chased her ship was commanded by such a fool, it would be easy to escape him. "I told you they were in my quarters, didn't I? And I'm leading to them, aren't I? And considering how much larger your ship is than mine, you should be used to taking a while to get anywhere. So have some patience before you make threats that are completely uncalled for and unnecessary." She glanced over her shoulder with a broad grin as she opened the door to her quarters. Felix had done good, getting those flags out of there. Now her part of the ship looked like most other captain's quarters. A bunk attached to the wall on the stern end of the ship, a desk attached closer to the prow. A rack on the port side held some outfits, although she didn't keep much variety from her normal one. The starboard side held a cupboard with a latch to keep the wild waters from opening it. That is where the flags were normally stored, but she had other things in there to keep the empty space they left from seeming odd.
She went to the desk and tossed the scroll on it before rifling through the desk drawer for the documents the commodore wanted. She checked them before pulling them out, making it seem as if she hadn't yet found the crumbled papers. The name it had been purchased with was hers, Tyronica Vian, which might give her away as the feared captain, but hopefully the name on its own wouldn't be that big a give-away. After all, she didn't have the mismatched eyes as far as the commodore knew, and she knew she wasn't the only Tyra in Falconmill, although it was a rather unusual name.
The name White Wolf was under, though, was not either White Wolf or Sea Queen. It was instead the Sea Rose. Tyra laughed at herself, realizing that she had been right on the money when she thought it had been flowery. Still, it wasn't the actual name of her ship, and it might raise some red flags. Hopefully sharing the same first word as the present name it would pass muster. She straightened and pulled the papers out with a flourish. "And see? Your patience is rewarded. I do still have them, although most of the papers in this drawer are used by my chef to start the kitchen fires. If you had stopped my next week, they might have been used to make our supper." She grinned as she handed the papers over.

Thompson received the papers and began checking them silently. He noted her name and the different name. Although it seemed suspicious, he was willing to give her a chance to explain. "These papers have the ship's name registered as 'Sea Rose'. Upon my approach, your ship name was 'Sea Queen'. Could you please explain why the name is different...," Thompson looked at the papers where Tyra's name was listed, "Captain Vian?" The rest of the papers checked out, including the now, outdated seal of the Royal Family.

As the navy ship approached the Sea Queen for inspection, Corin got a bit anxious. It appeared they were getting into something worse than they had expected. He had never seen so many navy ships sailing in his direction. Corin stepped back from his cannon like his sister ordered, but close enough to jump to it if there were any reason to. Once the inspectors had arrived, he went over to help hold the plank as the men crossed ships. It couldn't hurt to act polite for them, but there was no denying that the White Wolf's crew were of a different breed.

It was an unsettling sight to see a navy crew follow his captain below deck. It made him a bit jumpy that he couldn't know exactly what was going on down there, but he hoped it would be okay. Tyra could be a clever talker, and sometimes they relied on that to get out of situations like these. Almost everyone aboard the Sea Queen at the moment had a weapon handy, including Corin, his golden cutlass by his hip. A fight could easily break out, and if being outnumbered didn't catch the White Wolf, being outgunned likely would. As long as Tyra could get her hands on the right papers, they would be fine. If she couldn't, they would be in rough waters. Corin just had to wait and see what was to come.

Tyra grinned, pleased that reading her name hadn't raised any alarms. "Easy answer to that," she said. "When this caraval had been completed, its builder named it Sea Rose. My father, thinking the name would appeal to me, bought her for me and transferred the documents to me. I, however, had no use or desire for such a flowery name. When I started this crew as a bunch of mercenaries, I changed it to Sea Queen. We're not that well known yet, but at least you can't mistake us for a bunch of gentlemen and ladies." She crossed her arms and leaned one hip against the desk. "Anything else you need to check, Commadore, before we lose the wind? My ship dislikes remaining still, and my crew has a job we need to proceed with before someone else steals the bounty."

Thompson watched Tyra as she explained why the ship names were different. "Very well, Captain. The Royal Seal is now outdated. Next time you return to port, please visit the Royal Administration Office to get the seal changed. From here, my men will search your ship, and with your permission, check any cargo in your hold."

Tyra waved a hand dismissively. "I'd already told you to have your men do their searching. If they ain't doing it, they're wasting both my time and yours. Just get it done soon, I'm feeling as listless as my ship." She made a note to get the documents updated, and to have forgeries made in case this sort of situation came up again. She didn't want to have to explain anytime she needed to change her ship's name to keep suspicion from herself and her crew.

"Imperator Verass has ordered us to value every citizen's rights to privacy. I will order my men to begin the inspection and if it passes, we will let you go. Good day, Captain." Thompson walked his way back to the top deck where his men were waiting for the order. When he was in view, they were slouching around, snapping back into attention at the sight of Thompson. With the group looking at their C.O., Thompson nodded, beginning the search. "Standard search, Gentlemen. Check the usual spots and check anything in the cargo hold. If someone says otherwise, then move along." The 15 men began their search, starting on the top level and working down.

Zaria gave a tight nod to the men as the passed her in the ship's halls. "Gentlemen," she said tightly, keeping watch of her tongue. Any part of the royal family made her nervous when she was on the ship. It wasn't that she distrusted Tyronica's judgement, they just seemed so official and unable to relax. On a whim, she followed the fifteenth man on his tour of the ship.

Tyra snorted as she followed the commodore back to the deck. Rights to privacy, her ****. If that was true, they would have requested to board her ship, rather than simply laying down the gangplank and swaggering across as if they had owned it. Hopefully his sense of 'honor' would keep him from allowing his soldiers to be too thorough in their search. She didn't want him unearthing the false flags or worse still, the charts to Hyrule. She was certain that Zaria had put it out of site, but with her navigator following the searchers, she'd have to hope it was so well hidden it didn't need to be watched. She glanced up at the crow's nest and saw Zulo was still up there. She hoped he keep it safe and hidden.

Zulo stayed above in the crow's nest while his fellow Rito went below deck. His job was to keep the inspectors from seeing the map. If they did, things would take a terrible turn. He was so worried about protecting it that he leaned against the mast, covering the hidey hole. His heart raced a bit every time an inspector approached, but so far they always passed along. He reminded himself to look natural, or the inspectors would be more interested in coming up. Hopefully nobody would come up to look at the crows nest. Why would there be anything in there worth climbing up for anyways? It's not like someone would keep an important, stolen map in some cranny up in the crow's nest.

The inspection took about ten minutes to complete. When everyone was finished checking, they returned to Thompson on the White Wolf's deck. Since nothing was brought to his attention, Thompson assumed that everything was okay and that the ship passed. Thompson sought out Tyra where he was going to give his final approval to her. "Captain Vian, my men report that your ship is cleared for the inspection. As I mentioned earlier, get a new permit seal when you visit your next port. Good day, Ma'am."

Thompson and the others walked off of the White Wolf and the Intrepid Lance began to detach itself from Tyra's ship, allowing them to continue their course.

"Everything was safe, Captian," Zaria said quietly as Thompson's crew walked back across the board. "When we're on the water, would you like me to change the flags?" Hyrule, if there was such a place, likely wouldn't have heard of the White Wolf's tale, save for some crusty sailors' stories. Still, there was Corin's story about the sea monster. She'd ask him about it later, when they were in open water and didn't have to watch out for shallow rocks and reefs.

Tyra breathed a quiet sigh of relief as the commodore told her the White Wolf checked out and departed. She gave him a salute and promised the change the seal. Be a good opportunity to find someone's pockets to line, so I won't have to worry about the ships differing names being a problem. She also consider new names for herself, just in case seeing Captain Tyronica Vian on too many documents for too many ships would get them more attention. "Alright, ya lazy lot! Just cause Rhykim's men had to check out ship doesn't mean you can laze about like seals in the sun! Let's get this ship moving!" She took the tiller again and as a strong breeze filled her sails, guided her ship further east. "Aye, Hawk, that's a good idea," she said in answer to Zaria's question. "I'll have Sparrow change the name back too. I want the people of Hyrule to remember the name White Wolf when they talk about the first time Logatans came to their home. We'll fly the flag when we're too far from shore to have any fear of chase from unfriendly eyes." She smiled as she faced the rising moon, pleased that their new voyage started well. Hopefully, the deities that watched over them now would continue to gift them with smooth sailing.
