With all the sails fully open to the sea winds, the Silver Snake reached a new splendour that Shane had always loved. The flag, a white snake on a black field, was high in the breeze as well, marking the passage. The fates were good and had blessed them with favourable wind from the moment they had set sail. The Sun wasn't right above them yet, and they had already lost sight of the mainland. Shane made his way through the deck, quite clearly in a more joyous mood that he had ever been before. At least, that the group had seen him. Some of the crew were there as well, scrubbing the wooden floors or manning the sails. The captain was at the rudder, directing them with ease for they had no set direction. All he needed to do was keep them from going in a circle. The sea had been moderately quiet as well, and Shane was glad for that. He wasn't sure how his guests were doing, not having seen all of them since showing each of them to their set quarters, but he knew it would be rough for some of them if the boat started swaying uncontrollably.
James was on deck as well, leaning over the railing. He didn't feel sick, at least not yet, but for some reason he preferred watching the ship cut through the water rather than be trapper beneath in the claustrophobic rooms they were meant to sleep in for the duration of the journey. Sephira was the only one better off, having been gifted Shane's quarters for the trip. He had absolutely no thoughts in his mind, except wonder. Over what what was going to happen next, over what they were leaving behind, over everything. Nothing was certain. Not anymore.
Elwood rushed through the many corridors and alcoves within the ship. He wasn't sure if Midnight or Star were still following him, but he didn't slow down. The ship was so big, he just had to see every small inch of it. Luckily Shane had been nice enough to grant him full liberty of the entire ship during the voyage. To be honest, he couldn't see anything wrong with their host. At least not at the moment.
