Sephira's eyes light up. "A shooting gallery? That sounds like fun." She'd been to the one in Castle Town, of course, but that was too easy. The targets were slow, when they moved at all, and she could riddle them completely with arrows if they didn't shatter with the first. She'd grown up almost with a bow in her hand, shooting a large target like that was easy. What sort of targets would she be presented with here, she wondered. Hopefully they'd be more of a challenge than the over-sized rupees in Castle Town.

"Alright, follow me."
Maxwell, Sephira, and Shade entered the shooting gallery. It wasn't a big building, but it was big enough. To the left, there was a man behind a counter, and in front of the trio, there a pool of water that was held back by a short wall. In front of the wall,there was an elevated platform where the shooter would stand. On the end of the pool farthest from the door, a beach scene was painted on the wall.
"One of you going to try the shooting gallery? 20 Rupees." The man seemed to be very unfriendly, and strict about the rules.
"Yes, Sephira here is going to have a go at the shooting gallery, but she'll do it for free, because I happen to be your king. Got it?"
The man became frightened at this statement. "K-King Maxwell? Your Majesty, a thousand apologies! I didn't know! Of course she can do it for free!"
"Alright, Seph, go onto the platform there, then tell the guy when you're ready. I would say good luck, but I'm sure you'll get a perfect score. This isn't actually the hardest shooting gallery in Termina."Comment

She frowned as Maxwell pulled rank to get her a free game, but didn't comment. It was wrong, but it wasn't her place to say so. She took her place on the platform and drew her bow. Carefully she knocked an arrow, pointing it down as she collected herself. A few more quivers were next to the platform, apparently this game would allow for more than the fifteen shots Castle Town's did. She set her quiver aside so she wouldn't waste any of her arrows and pulled one of the game's quivers on. A quick count revealed there were many more than her usual two dozen, just over four dozen, in fact. So that's how many targets there'd be, she guessed. Fifty. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly before declaring herself ready.
"Alright, missy," the owner said. "You've got a minute fifteen to hit as many red Octos as you can. If you hit a blue one, you'll lose time, so watch what you're shooting at. Ready?"
A sharp whistle blast, and her eyes flew open. Three red Octos popped above the water surface. Quick as a flash, she fired, then sent another two arrows on their way before the first had struck. As more Octos appeared, she knocked, drew, and released, hitting each one almost before its head had fully cleared the water. When the first blue one appeared, she almost shot it, but managed to spot the color before releasing the arrow. However, she lost a few seconds for it. Not enough to damage her score, though. She got a perfect with several seconds still to spare. But because she had hesitated, it wasn't a perfect in her mind, despite the game owner's surprised praise at her achieving such an excellent score. I'll need to work on that, she told herself as she put on her own quiver again. If I can't tell one Octo's coloring from another, I might not be able to tell friend from foe in a battle and accidently shoot the wrong person.Phillipians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Maxwell saw that Sephira was disappointed for some reason when she turned around and walked over to him. He had no clue why, seeing as she totally owned it, but decided to ask.
"As I thought, you did perfect. I should take you to the shooting gallery in Woodfall sometime. Much harder, considering its not all in one small room."
By the time Maxwell was done saying this, the trio were outside of the building. Shade now resumed his panic of being near so many humans at one time. Again, Maxwell noticed this.
"Why is Shade so scared of being in Clock Town? I want to ask him, but he'll just make one of those comments again."
Maxwell hoped that Sephira would give an explanation of some sort and not force him to ask Shade.Comment

"Could be a lot of things," she answered absentmindedly, still dwelling on the faulty shot. "He's used to Snowhead, which has a different set of sounds and scents to it. The sheer volume of noise here could be making him uneasy, or it could be all the information his nose is giving him. When you're used to a specific range of scents and sounds, it's easy to tune them out to focus on what's new. Or it could be all the people. Being used to the wilds of Snowhead, he wouldn't have had much contact with people, so there being so many around him right now would unnerve him. Or it could be the walls and buildings around him, making him feel penned in when he's used to wide open spaces. It could be any combination of those, or something else altogether. Only way to know for certain is to ask him, but make sure you don't tease him about it. Maxwell didn't like that he had to ask Shade, but did anyways. "What's wrong, Shade?" Maxwell asked. Shade noticed and appreciated that Maxwell didn't use a joking tone, and decided that he would answer appropriately.
"I'm just not used to this many humans being around all at once. I'll get used to it."
"Hmm...then maybe we should get out of here." Maxwell looked at Sephira. "How about we head to the bay? Today's a nice day, so it should look beautiful. Sound good?"Comment

She raised an eyebrow. A bay? Like Lake Hylia? "Sure, sounds intriguing. Would certainly be quieter than here." The reasons she gave for Shade not liking the town were actually the reason she didn't. Maxwell smiled. "Alright, let's go." Shade didn't understand much, besides that they were leaving the town.
