  • Clock Town Invasion

The next day after the events of Inheritance, at noon.

A small army of 50 men approached the north side of Clock Town, not opposed by the monsters around them at all. They were marching as if they had full confidence, but in reality, they were scared. They were just the distraction. It was likely most if not all of them were going to receive mortal wounds or die. And to their commanders, it didn't matter. They would be the ones making it out alive, whether they lost or won the imminent battle. Of course, their commanders weren't with them. They were hiding in the shadows....for now.

A retired guard stood outside of the north entrance to Clock Town. He wasn't retired because he wanted to retire, but because he was too old in the commander's eyes. However, he still believed he could defend his hometown, so he spent his days in the exact same spot right outside of the north entrance. But little did he know, he would have no chance to prove it.
The old man was looking east when he saw something out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head and saw the small army. Filled with panic, he stood up and began to walk inside. However, he also noticed that the army had noticed him. Desperate, the guard looked at the top of Clock Town's wall and managed to yell "CLOCK TOWN IS UNDER ATTACK!" before two arrows flew into the back of his head.

The Clock Town Invasion has begun.

The guard just inside the North Entrance heard the yelling outside. An attack? Of course he thought whomever had yelled was crazy. Maybe it was that old guard who stood outside the entrance. Whatever the reason, he decided to go and see what the hustle was. As soon as he saw the body with two arrows sticking out from it, the smirk disappeared from his face. He ran back in before he was shot as well and began yelling at the top of his lungs. "We're being attacked! We're being attacked! Everyone get to safety!" He rushed through the town while people began panicking. No one seemed very prepared for an attack. Suddenly he was intercepted by Captain Viscen.
"Halt, guard! What seems to be the problem?" Sweat began forming on the guard's forehead.
"Captain, sir! Clocktown is under attack, sir! Awaiting orders, sir!" The guard sure wasn't used to problems in the town, but he wasn't going to risk losing his job by showing disrespect to the Captain. Viscen pondered for a moment, before deciding it was time to take action.
"Guard, alert the others and man everyone at...where are they coming from again?" Screaming was heard to the North. "Never mind, make sure everyone is ready to fight in North Clocktown right now! Tell the people to head for their homes and stay there until it is over. We cannot let this get out of hand, hurry!" The guard nodded and turned to leave. "And no more screaming!"

While the guards manned the North gate, Viscen headed to the East. He stormed into the Mayor's Office. "Mayor Dotour!"
"Captain Viscen, what is the problem? I've heard screaming!"
"Sir, we believe Clocktown is under attack."
"A-attack?" Dotour stuttered. He flushed. "What are you going to do?"
"We got it under control, sir, I recommend you get to safety." With that, Captain Viscen hurried out while muttering about the Mayor's chicken legs.

Everyone was gathered at the gate, waiting. All other gates had been abandoned. This fight needed everyone at the ready. Just now did Viscen realize he didn't even know whether they really were being attacked or not. If they were, by how many? He wiped sweat from his forehead as he yelled orders to the Guards. "Lances out and ready! Helmets put on tightly. You will not back down. You will not cower away. You will stay and fight. Ready, guards!" The guards all slammed the bottom of their lances on the floor in response. "And...march!" They all did so. As they neared the darkness of the gate, Captain Viscen didn't know what was going to happen, and he was scared.

Out of the darkness, five small men appeared. They jumped into the air, their knives reflecting the sunlight before coming down into a soldier's head/shoulder. They were dispatched quickly, but as the last two were being killed, twenty-five men charged the soldiers. So far, the strategy of the small army was working. Some of the citizens experienced with a weapon began to help the soldiers of Clock Town, but no one noticed a ring being formed outside of Clock Town along the boundaries of Woodfall, Ikana, Great Bay, and Snowhead.

K'ledanal frowned, quickly closing up shop. He hung back, out of the fighting, not wanting to get involved unless he had to. He was a spice merchant, not a soldier.

The guards clashed again and again on the invaders and Captain Viscen began feeling like they were actually winning. Normally he wouldn't let civilians help, even if they were experienced with a weapon, but for now it was alright. He swung his lance as another invader approached him. "Drive them out of town! Don't let any escape!" Viscen commanded the guards. A smile spread across his face. Little did he know...

Just as the soldiers got rid of the second wave, the third wave immediatley appeared, just like the second wave have. They, of course, were dispatched as easily. However, two minutes after the defeat of the third wave, a horn was heard. The people of Clock Town continued on with their business, assuming it was the sign that the attack was now officially over. But that assumption would soon evaporate. A few minutes after the horn sounded, screams were heard from all sides of Clock Town. They were much more skilled, and they had come without warning.

Maxwell and the Doomsday Army have arrived.

Maxwell entered South Clock Town and watched as the end of what he called a "corrupt government" begin.
"Remember my troops, take more alive than dead! I need people to reign over when this thing is done!" Max yelled, even though he knew that his soldiers already knew what to do.

After the Doomsday Army arrived, a boy entered West Clock Town. He bore a slight resemblence to Maxwell, but there was definetly differences. He also was here to stop Maxwell.

This boy was Jacob, revived and ready to kick some evil butt.

As the "last" wave was ridden from town, the guards cheered victory. Captain Viscen didn't, he felt something wasn't quite right. As the horn sounded, and his fears solidified, he began yelling orders to his soldiers. However, they were too busy with their cheering to listen. Then the screaming came, and their hearts dropped. Part of the Doomsday Army began pouring in through the North Gate, but Viscen realized this wasn't the only place the screaming was coming from. "Go! Spread around town, protect our people! Clock Town is threatened. Man the boundaries, protect us! Do your duty to our town!" Most of the soldiers did so, but a select few, the honor guard, stayed with Viscen and fought fiercely. This was the beginning of the end.

Jacob ran around Clock Town, trying to rescue the people the guards were capturing. He wouldn't let these people suffer the possibly horrible rule of his cousin. "Hey, kid, you're coming with me!" A man behind Jacob said. Jacob turned around and saw it was one of Maxwell's soldiers. "Sorry sir, but I believe you're stupid." Jacob said, unpurposely angering the soldier. "YOU WILL DIE FOR YOUR INSOLENCE!" The soldier shouted as he charged at Jacob. Jacob prepared himself for the soldier, but he didn't have to. Before the soldier took 15 steps, the tip of a sword appeared on the left side(from the soldiers perspective)...right where most people believed the heart is. If Jacob was close enough, he would heard the soldier try to scream, but he couldn't. He was definetly dead.

                ~

Zebulon pulled the sword out of the man's chest and examined his sword. "Wow, this Ordon Sword really does wonders......" Zeb said as he admired his blood covered sword. When he looked up, he saw a child, who was holding a smaller sword, stare in shock at him. "Uh...oh....um.....kid, you saw nothing, and you're coming with me." Zeb said as he came over to the child and started dragging him out of Clock Town. However, the child did not want to go. "My name is Jacob, and you can't boss me around!" Jacob said, freeing himself of Zeb's grip. Zeb frowned. "Okay, fine. You can come, but you have to listen to me untill we're out of danger, got it?" Jacob nodded and smilied. "Got it." However, on the inside, Jacob grunted. This guy is a total jerk....

K'ledanal sighed, unhooking his sword from it's hiding place within his cart. "Looks like I've got no choice but to get involved...." He ran over to Captain Vicsen. "Sir! Is there some way I can help?" He looked down at the man, trying not to seem too out of place standing there. Times like this, his immense height was a hinderance.

Viscen was in the midst of disposing and invader when he heard a voice behind him. He turned in a huff, angry that someone was distracting him from his job in the middle of a battle. However, when he saw the size of the person behind him he forgot the battle for only a moment. Looking up in awe at the Zora, he returned to his battle stance. "Yes, you may very well help us fight this invaders!" he stated matter-of-factly. Behind him, one of his honor guards was pierced by an arrow and he collapsed, immediately dead. The others were only angered by this, as was Viscen, and began fighting more fiercely. Viscen turned back to the fight and as he clashed swords, he muttered, "Let's hope you're as good at fighting as you are big."
Around town, the other guards weren't having better results. Even with the help of the people, it didn't look like the fight was going their way.

K'ledanal nodded and joined the battle, his face grim as he fought. He moved with the ease of one long practiced in battle, graceful yet deadly. Blocking out all emotions, he focused his mind on the battle, watching his opponents for weaknesses.

Jacob and Zeb rushed through Clock Town, telling people to exit out of the northern part of Clock Town. As Zeb yelled at a young couple to take their baby and exit out of the northern part of Clock Town, he saw two dozen men wearing black robes. He couldn't see their faces, especially since they had their hoods on, but he knew they were part of the opposition.
"RUN!" Zeb shouted to the couple before turning around and pulling out his sword. He looked at Jacob and saw he had his sword out too.
"Are you sure you can handle this, Jacob?" Zeb asked, worried about the kid. Jacob glanced at Zeb and grunted, suggested he thought the following fight would be easy.
"I could eat fifty of these jokesters if I wanted to." Jacob replied, focused on the enemy.
Zeb frowned, but he decided he couldn't convince Jacob to leave before the hooded men reached them. "I sure hope you aren't lying about being able to eat these guys for breakfast, because if you can't, we're probably going to be dinner for the monsters in the field."

Captain Viscen kept fighting, but he was starting to feel this was a lost cause. Now three of his guard were dead or dying, and the others were getting tired. He was cut, bruised, and sweaty. Suddenly he felt a sword slash his back and he roared in anger. In a swift motion one of his guards disposed of the attacker. Viscen tried hard not to pass out as he kept fighting.

*Alec, Widow, and Odin arrive from "Inheritance"*

As they walked through the field on the South side, Alec began noticing something was wrong. There were people running around Clocktown, some away from it and some into it. He was sure that was fire he could see on the Clocktower. His eyes widened and he stopped, they were now almost at the entrance. Suddenly someone crashed into him, surely running to Romani Ranch. "Wait!" Alec ordered. "What's going on?"
"An invasion!" the man cried. He began running to his objective again, and his yell could be heard. "Clocktown is being invaded!" Alec looked at Widow in shock. He wasn't really worried about the town, since he didn't like it a lot. But, he was worried about Jacob. He put Odin down. He quickly looked at the two and said, "Stay here," before running towards the South entrance of Clocktown. Something in the back of his mind told him the chances they would actually do as he had ordered were smaller than the chances of aliens coming down to Termina.

Odin couldn’t understand why there were people running around everywhere, or why everyone was shouting and destroying buildings. All he knew was that he didn’t like it. He especially didn’t like it when Alec ran off looking all worried. What had happened now? What was a vaded and why was Clocktown in it? Several people bumped into him in their panic, effectively knocking him down to the ground. Whimpering, he staggered to his feet when he realized that something was missing. He frantically looked around and saw that he’d dropped Duke. And the little stuffed Deku was being kicked further and further away from him as a result of all the people. “Stop!” Odin cried, as he began weaving through all the people in his attempts to catch up to it, narrowly missing arrows that seemed to appear out of nowhere. “Stop stepping on him!” Pretty soon he realized that he’d left Widow far behind, and was now lost, as well as toy-less. He tried to look for her too, but all he could see were legs and people falling down. He took a deep breath, trying hard not to be frightened, and shouted out for Widow and Alec.

((What a perfect chance to bring in Destinie!))

Destinie limped away from the southern area of Clocktown, pale with terror. She yelped, tripping over something. Looking at what it was, she was startled to see a stuffed Deku that looked vaguely familliar. Picking it up, she continued through the crowd, losing all sense of direction. Please, Goddess, let me get away from here safely..... She gasped softly when she heard Odin yelling, recognizing his voice as the little boy she had once met in the market. "Odin?" She pushed her way through the crowd towards him and scooped him up, settling him on her shoulders. "Hey little fellow. Remember me?" She handed him the little Deku plushie. "I found him on the ground. Where's miss Widow?"

K'ledanal frowned, seeing the large gash across Viscen's back. He moved so he was fighting back-to-back alongside the Captain, cutting down a group of attackers who were trying to take advantage of the Captain's weakness. He roared in pain as one of the attacker's swords cut deep into his thigh, beheading the man with one vicious stroke. He pulled the blade from his leg and impaled another attacker with it.
