If it weren’t for all these people, I’d take off my shirt to show you.” Kaida was trying very hard to keep her anger under control, but if there was one thing she hated, it was pirates.Comment

HBC: Kaida opened her mouth to respond, but the racist comment brought her up short. Was she really being racist? She hated it when people were sexist on her. Was racism really any different? Kaida sighed, then bowed to Widow. “I am sorry. My words went ahead of my thoughts, and I am sorry they caused you such pain.” Kaida hated apologizing, but she knew that continuing to stand in the wrong was worse than admitting it was wrong.

Alec put his arm around Widow's waist and spoke at Kaida, "Hey, it's all good. We're all friends here. He kissed Widow's cheek and whispered, "Don't worry, OK?" He pulled back and smiled.

Roko had been standing nearby, watching the group talk, and when he heard something about racism he decided to try and stop it, but by the time he made up his mind, he realized it had already stopped. Still, he decided to change topics to make sure it didn't start again. He walked up to them and stood next to Kaida, "Hey, just wanted to say you were great in your fight, you really live up to the name." Widow took his hand "you to" she said, turning to Kaida "its no big deal, honestly, I have the same problem with saying things before I think them through" she laughed. Widow then turned to kiss Alec lightly on his lips "I'm always going to worry" she whisperd so only he would here "last thing I want to do is see you, or our kids hurt, or to have me go insane and hurt you all"sigpicI want to say a big thank you to zeke for making me the picture for my birthday.

Odin listened to the adults exchange words and was relieved to see that the tension had settled. Widow talking about ray cysts seemed to stop the fight. He'd have to keep that in mind for next time a fight broke out. Whatever a 'ray cyst' was. But right now he was getting bored of just standing around. He tugged at Alec's pants to get his attention. "Can I join the tournament too? Widow said I was getting better in fighting so I think I could do it."

Justin gave Widow a stiff smile and nodded his head at her. Even though Kaida seemed to accept her, he'd keep on his toes when he was around her. He knew how treacherous pirates could be. Or 'the' pirate as she girl liked to call it. "So when did you say your last fight is again?" he said, turning to Kaida.Comment

Kaida smiled at Alec's comment, easily slipping on her mask of outward happiness and cooperation. In her business, you learned very quickly how to disguise your feelings, for fear of offending a future client. Kaida would be nice to the girl, but she was going to watch her step. If she felt that any harm was offered, Flame was more than ready to back her up.
Kaida turned to regard her opponet from across the square as she answered Justin's question. "Soon. Just enough time for us to get something to eat, I suspect. What do you guys want? I have some money in my pocket from my last job that's burning a hole in it." Kaida took her knife and breastplate from Justin and put the latter on, after which she returned the former to its hiding place.Phillipians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Roko perked up as he heard Kaida mentioned something to Eat. He could finally eat something that wasn't the Chu-Jelly outside the walls of Clock Town. But he chose to remain polite. "Anything, really. As long as it isn't Chu-Jelly." Roko remarked.Comment

"Food sounds good to me right about now," Justin replied, feeling just slightly relieved that Kaida was looking more friendly. "How about some good old fashioned burgers? Can't go wrong with those. Don't worry, Kaida, I've got it covered." He gently patted the side of his pants where he kept his rupees neatly tucked inside in a small bag and smiled at her.

"But I'm not hungry!" Odin protested with a disappointed look in his face. He wanted to stick around and watch other people fight too, maybe pick up a thing or two just from watching. "You go eat! I'll stay here!" He crossed his arms in defiance, his eyes glowing stubbornly.Comment

Jacob sighed. This would be too easy. Jacob grabbed one of Odin's legs and held him upside down. "On second thought, maybe you should eat more so that you weigh more than two pounds*." Jacob told Odin.

"Hey! Put me down!" Odin cried, slapping at Jacob's wrist. "I don't weigh two pounds! I weigh a hundred! And I don't need to eat! I'm not hungry I said! I wanna stay here!" He continued to struggle under Jacob's grasp but to no avail, only succeeding in tiring himself out. He looked pleadingly at Alec and Widow for help.Comment

Kaida nodded at Justin. "Hamburgers sound good to me. But I'm buying some of them. I don't have as much to spend my money on as you do." She then turned to Odin and was about to respond to him when Jacob picked him up. She laughed as Odin tried to get back down and took him from Jacob. "Come on. I'll show you where the tough food is. Justin shook his head at Kaida. "I insist," he said, giving her a gentle smile. "That money is yours, and should therefore be spent on things for you. Besides," he added with a chuckle, "The guy should be the one to pay."

Odin stared up at Kaida with wide open eyes. "Really?" he said in his exited, high pitched tone. "We get to fight our own food? I wanna try that!" Jacob chuckled. This ought to be funny. Jacob thought to himself. "Do you want to fight it hanging upside down or standing?" Jacob asked Odin, failing to resist a smile as he asked. Jacob's mind traveled back to when he first met Odin, back when he fell in that dumb hole back in Woodfall. What would've happened if Jacob never fell in that hole?Comment

As the others began moving forward Alec smiled at young Odin and at Jacob, he couldn't help but be entertained by their actions. He didn't worry about Kaida or Justin anymore, they seemed lost enough in their thoughts for food. He turned to Widow and put his arm around her waist again, "Come on, are you hungry?" He began pulling her after the others.Comment
